We enjoy melting the Andes candies in a pyrex pie plate (flat and shallow). Pour in pretzels and stir gently. The stirring will coat the pretzels, no need to dip individually. Spread coated pretzels on waxed paper in a single layer. Allow to dry. Break apart. Enjoy!

Mel, I make the thin mints with ritz crackers but I melt chocolate almond bark, add a few drops of mint extract and dip. They are very good, much less expensive and you don’t have to unwrap all the candy.

Mel- I found you on a simple browse for Christmas treats and I am so glad! I’m from Texas but no longer live there and you sound like all my relatives and it’s extremely soothing to me. We also did a lot of Christmas things back in the 90’s with all my Texas family and something about your channel gives me nostalgia. Thank you for being so lovely!

Merry Christmas Mel!! I know I don't comment much, only watch every video faithfully, but I had to thank you for these easy sweet treats that this old disabled girl will be able to make her family. I haven't been able to do much for 12 years, especially not standing up cooking and my sons have missed it. I can do these!! Tears are in my eyes, I'm so excited! Again I can't thank you enough. We don't have much, but you have given us a cheap sweets and mama can make them!! My boys are going to be so surprised. I just know you are going to realize how important and special this is! Love and Blessings ❤️ 🦋

I can feel your excitement - and I just know that your family is going to feel it too when they see the joy it brings you to be able to make these together ❤️ Thank YOU for sharing with me and keeping me encouraged to keep on making videos. I pray that you have a blessed and Merry Christmas 🎄❤️

@@sandybowman7140… I loved reading you live” right near the pinky” in Michigan! Good memories of cold, snowy Christmases past are coming to mind.❄️ I grew up across Lake Michigan from you, in Escanaba (on Little Bay de Noc). Thanks for the fond memories!🌲Merry Christmas!🌲

@@christinekoester2050 A fellow Michigander, a "Yooper" + how wonderful & an "Esky" no less! I wonder how many times u used snowmobiles to go to town after big storms? I think the snow can get deep but not like Copper Harbor area or Hancock in the Keeweenaw Area. It's been years since I went to the UP, & maybe this year I'll have to! It can get bitter cold where ur from but there's always layers upon layers to snuggle up with. My people are Norwegian & German so cold, & fish are kinda our thing. I finally found a supplier of Blue Gill fish since there's so many restrictions on fishing now - they get them & fly them in from Nantucket of all places! Well I hope u have urself a snowy, cozy Christmas Christine & remember happy days of long ago! 🙋‍♀️ ✋️☃️🎄🎁💨❄️🏠☃️💕💕💕

The orange/spice tea mix - love this stuff. First had it in college dorm where the RA made it for us and that was in 1980. It is so good and you can tweak it as you like: more cinnamon, allspice, or even tea mix with lemon in it to forego the lemonade mix. It is the perfect pick-me-up on cold days all winter long.

You can melt milk chocolate and add mint extract and get the same effect as the thin mints. I use to work in a candy and cake supply store and we made the mint candy by tinting white chocolate with green food coloring and pour over a thin coat of milk or dark if you prefer and then put another layer of the milk chocolate ( dark chocolate) over the top of the milk chocolate and green mint white chocolate. It taste just like Andies. For this recipe just use your chocolate and mint extract. I like to use half milk and half dark chocolate. Just a way to keep from having to unwrap the candy not to mention the money you save.

Great simple recipes. I'll be trying several. Loved the Andes mints with Ritz. So festive. Thank you for making your video for us to see how they're all made.😄

Wonderful, simple recipes well presented. I dod buy miniature Andes candies, creme de menth and peppermint, at a package store. I used them to melt on top of brownies. I think your Ritz cracker coated with melted Andes can't sounds great. Made the Russian tea but used orange powdered drink mix and favorite non-sugar sweetener instead. Memories of the 60s.
    Thanks for all the inspiration.

I just came across your channel today, I like your treats… but I think what I like most about your videos is how you talk about the lord! And I’m not even a religious person, but idk maybe it’s your southern accent or something, because it sure sounds nice 😊

Lots of good ideas. I’m going to be making some of these. Especially the tea. I’m a tea drinker, I don’t drink coffee. Thanks for the video.
