Just a suggestion but when the supermarket offers a buy one get one on a 5 lb bag of onions, I get the two bags. I then spend about 1/2 hour dicing the onions and freeze them in Ziploc bags. Then they are ready for when I need them.
The cheeseburger pie that you made is indeed from a Bisquick cookbook. It was/is called Impossible Cheeseburger Pie. I remember my Dad and I making this back in the early 1970's. Hey Mel! I made the Tater Tot Casserole for my grown children today. We've named it Bacon Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole, and it was a huge hit with the family. I loved how easy it was, and the only real work was browning the ground beef and onions. Thanks so much for an easy, delicious lunch. Both kids requested I email them the recipe. Love your videos! It doesn't have to be fancy, hard, or take all day to make a nice family dinner, right 😋 I am so happy that all your crew enjoyed this and thank you for letting me know! I love hearing back from you!
Your "Cheeseburger in Paradise" used to be on Bisquick boxes in the '80s. It was called "Impossible cheeseburger pie". There were a lot of "impossible pie" recipes on those bisquick boxes (brownie, lasagna, taco....etc) there was also a crustless quiche recipe which was wonderful too! At one point they had an entire cookbook of all their "impossible pies"
Vicki Morgan. My aunt who has passed on used to make impossible cheeseburger pie and for so many years I've been trying to remember where she had gotten the recipe. As soon as I read your comment a lightbulb went off n I could see the little Bisquick recipe paper in my memories. I'll be making that this weekend and I know it will bring back memories. Thanks for posting that comment. Love the videos...
It still is in any biscuick recipe cookbook! There is a whole little cookbook that is just for "impossible" pies, including dessert ones! I always liked the ham, broccoli and cheese pie!
I make a casserole very similar to that, and I put the tater tots on top. I use those little round crispy crowns, and they do get nice and crispy. Once the tots are crispy and the casserole is cooked through, I take it out of the oven and cover the top with cheese -- then put it back into the oven for about 5 or 10 minutes to get the cheese all melted. I still put some shredded cheddar cheese in the casserole, but I don't use the can of cheese soup, instead I use a can of cream of mushroom soup, and a can of green beans, drained.
Omg...i never dreamed of anyone but me using the paper towels to remove grease ...i have done this for many yrs!! Great ideas. You make me homesick for Oklahoma! .
i love having chopped frozen onions on hand, one day i realized i could just do my own. if a recipe calls for half a chopped onion i just chop up a whole one and put the other half in a freezer bag. now it saves time and money.
I made the recipe with the potatoes and cheese and my daughter and family loved it thank you so much she never asks for seconds of dinner that I make so thank you
It's noon on Monday and I want to start dinner already! I love that you suggest sides and show your beautiful food all plated up with companions. I swear TH-cam reads my mind. We were blessed with a 1/4 of a cow and have a lot of ground beef. Another great video. Thank you for sharing. Ranch beans are like pinto beans but they are in what I think is a bbq type sauce. I had never seen them before moving to Texas.
Casseroles rock. Easy to make, leftovers the next day, and easy on the pocketbook. I also make a lot of homemade soups. Comfort foods for our long cold winter.🇨🇦.
In Texas there's a brand of canned beans called "Ranch Style Beans"! Of course they are chili beans! Chili originated in Texas as well as the Ranch Style Beans!

Momma Mel if you don't have a Cookbook on the Market then you should because all of your Recipes are so Delicious and we Thank You for them 🎉
How sweet you are, thank you! And hopefully in the next few years I will have everything combined into a cook book.
I didn’t have Tater tots so I ended up using hashbrowns and it still came out great. Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe
Looks delicious yummy and tasty 😋 😍 👌 😊
I love the way you give the different variations of ingredients that can be used in recipes. Thanks so much!
🥰 thank you for this sweet comment. I enjoy showing people how you can cook using what you have on hand and that you don't always have to run to the store for one ingredient. A lot of times things can be substituted very easily. Thank you so much for watching I really appreciate you
Great recipes Mel. I will be trying several these.
Hope you enjoy

Thank you for these wonderful recipes! I just fried up a bunch of hamburger with onions and packaged it up in the freezer now I have great recipes to use it with!
I will definitely try the cheeseburger in paradise. Everything is already in the kitchen to make it.
Hope you love it and that is what I love about all these and really most of what I cook - it's really stuff most of us have already at home. Thank you so much for watching!
Your videos always make me hungry! Everything looks delicious!
That Mexican casserole looks so good, especially over lettuce with sour cream like that as a tasty taco salad!
Thank you! I am always looking for new ideas for dinner! 🥰💕🙏👍🏻👍🏻
Love your channel! You cook the way I do!
I’m from Arkansas and we love good ol fashioned southern food!
Thanks for sharing, Mel. I found 2 new recipes I'm excited to try!
ALWAYS GLAD TO COME ON AND FIND MY WEEKLY MEAL SUGGESTIONS FROM MOMA MEL😋❤️❤️❤️❤️🙋
Love you friend 💓 🥰😊
The Cheeseburger in Paradise recipe is Bisquick's Impossible Cheeseburger Pie. It used to be on the back of the Bisquick box. It is so delicious and our family loves it as well!
Very delicious 😋 thank you for sharing your recipes 👍👍
I swear TH-cam reads my mind. We were blessed with a 1/4 of a cow and have a lot of ground beef. We were just talking about looking up casserole recipes and BAM yours came up on my recommended videos. Kind of odd how that happened, however right on time. I cant wait to try these especially the bisquick one. Thank you for doing this.
That is awesome! I love when things just work out! Hope you love these!
Another great video. Thank you for sharing. Ranch beans are like pinto beans but they are in what I think is a bbq type sauce. I had never seen them before moving to Texas.
So nice you scrape😊out your cans, bowls, all containers!! Looks so good.
Thank you for sharing your recipes ❤️😋❤️☺️ I enjoyed your video and will be making these. 🥰
Casseroles rock. Easy to make, leftovers the next day, and easy on the pocketbook. I also make a lot of homemade soups. Comfort foods for our long cold winter.🇨🇦.
What a great cook. Your so personable . I'm glad I found you. Jody......
In Texas there's a brand of canned beans called "Ranch Style Beans"! Of course they are chili beans! Chili originated in Texas as well as the Ranch Style Beans!
Finally an answer to my burning question, thank you 😊 I had my suspicions now I know for sure! Thanks so much for being here!
