Very nice base, but I think the Knight could use something to help tie it to its environment a bit more. One nice trick is to spray a very thin earthy color at low PSI over the feet to give the illusion of a patina of dirt that accumulated from it stomping around. Really helps to make it seem like the piece lives in its world.
There is some detailing on the back that could have used something, and the white is straight up one color, (A little bit of deffinition of the elipse shaped raised details would make the white less flat) but in all other regards, I love the color choice, I love the power weapon, I love everything and I would absolutely love to see you make an army of eldar!

The green turned out great. I think a bit of off-white on the pure white areas would be good for some definition. Pretty easy to do with an oil wash. The black gem stones would look good on this model with a simple Shifters paint. Jet black gems are kinda hard to pull off they require some paint transition to get the depth. I do get that the eldar players are split between painting them as gems or just lumps in the armor. I'm of the latter myself.
only thing i can think of is to use the panel liner on the kinda jaw pattern of the knight to fill in the low points and realy highlight the design of it
Amazing resurrection of this model. Love the base, and I love the story of the restoration too. I know you were working to a clock here, but just four more hours applying some brushwork to the head and bringing out all the gems would’ve put this entirely over the top. It’s definitely something to be proud to put on the table though, especially given the model’s history.

Don't know if i can get anywhere near what you have done but if i can make them better than how i got them i'll be happy. And all because i saw your channel. You've created a monster.😀🤣
The paint job's overall fantastic, far better than anything I could do, but a small point is that the Soul Gems on the armour probably would've looked better if they had some colour to them. With them being black, they just kind of look like primer parts of the model sticking through the paint job, and something like some red on them might have brought a nice pop of colour in to contrast the green. Sure, it's Christmas colours, but there's a reason they look good together. :p
I think it turned out beautifully! I love that energy weapon effect! I just picked up a Wraithknight and this video has given me a lot of inspiration, particularly the color transitions for the energy weapons. Also, you have a new subscriber!

Me a gunpla guy when he broke out the panel liner, "So you have discovered the ancient arts. BUT CAN YOU CLEAN THE PANELS PROPERLY!?!?" Then he used a makeup brush which I have never seen done before. Just use some cotton buds and Tamiya X-20 my dude.
@@minisanddragons as far as I know your best bet with acrylic is one of two ways. Either you could apply the panel liner then us a cotton bud to grab the excess. Or you can spray the acrylic work with a clear and gloss lacquer like MR. SUPERCLEAR Gloss. Lacquers are stronger than both Acrylic and Enamel so if you apply the panel liner over lacquer then use an enamel thinner to clean up the lines, it will not undo any of your previous work. There are acrylic thinners like X-20A from Tamiya, but I don't know if that will remove panel liners since I've never tried it. Also understand that enamel thinners and panel liners do affect bare plastic, it is recommended that you use a lacquer like I mentioned before, because what can happen on bare plastic is it will Crack, melt or misshapen it, kinda like plastic cement. Personally I like the challenge and have found that as long as you wipe off the excess of both the panel liner and thinner it won't run so much and won't break plastic I'd you keep it strictly to the panels, not corners. Hope this helps!
I really enjoyed this. Only thing I don't care for is the white bits. Everything else has such depth and character, the white bits contrast that and almost look unfinished, or like a naked primer they're so clean and monotone. Really like the coloring though. I've not seen one in greens like that before. Great to see something revived as well. Think I'll have to sub and check the place out. You do some good work!
I can't tell if you mean that I am shaming people? or that people are shaming me over the end result of this video. I mean, I agree with you regardless, the point of this hobby is not "winning" at painting, its about having fun in your personal hobby. Everyone is in a different place and there are never any good reasons to shame someone over a paint job.
@@eBayMiniatureRescues My guess he means people in the comment section. Theres quite a few comments that go "oh its ooookay but just a start. You really need to finish this model 😏" Like danf people if I was across the table from that paint job I'd be pretty darn impressed
I just watched the video you referenced in the this one. I was so sorry to hear that as a kid you were trolled by other "enthusiasts" to the point of quitting the hobby for so long. The one thing I have always found is that 99% of the people I have gamed with or discussed painting with was the enthusiasm to share and like. Even on Face Book there are forums where the guys and girls show their work and comment. May be it is something about what is wrong with a paint job, but it is criticism designed to help and not trolling. I hope there are youngsters out there today who find your sight and enjoy the positive reinforcement.
Great choice of strong contrasting colors, and if there are physical flaws on there somewhere I can’t see them in the shadows, the eye naturally is drawn to the bright areas
Hey Casey - can you tell me how you avoid warp when using PVA on bases? Had some bases with cork & sand that - after drying completely - were slightly warped upwards. I had to 'cement' them onto a non-flexible sheet metal to get rid of the warp.
Interesting, I’ve never had that problem with pva before. I imagine that you are getting a lot of shrinking with whatever glue you are using, making the edges curl after setting. Could be you have a funky batch of pva? There are some pva mixtures designed not to shrink, that could help. Otherwise, I have no idea why that would happen, I hope you find a good solution though!

Personally I like the challenge and have found that as long as you wipe off the excess of both the panel liner and thinner it won't run so much and won't break plastic I'd you keep it strictly to the panels, not corners. Hope this helps!
That was an amazing rescue considering the state when it started loved the pose you went for as well nice one
The finch at the end made me laugh
Ive never understood why people come of so "oh your model isnt painted perfectly. so you should be ashamed"

Yeah I don’t understand what he means either
@@eBayMiniatureRescues
My guess he means people in the comment section.
Theres quite a few comments that go "oh its ooookay but just a start. You really need to finish this model 😏"
Like danf people if I was across the table from that paint job I'd be pretty darn impressed
Looks amazing. What a great pose!
Love it, it's given me some really good ideas for finishing off my Ynnari/Ulthwe army
This thing is amazing! I can't even tell that there's any defects!
LOVE the Biel Tan colors!
