The “Flat Feeling.” It’s the feeling you get when you finish a great backpacking trip. What do you do to keep the dream alive between trips?

Definitely having the next hike penciled in!
Always have something to look forward to.
Also walk 30 minutes every day, sun or storm, gives you vitamin D, gets the endorphins going & helps keep you mentally & physically fit.

Great video Barry. You hit on some very true points. I like the psychological content you have worked into this one.

Thanks. As you know, tramping is a great way to bring us back to a sense of normality when seem to be going crazy. I hope you’re going well.

Good tips! I'll try some of these out when I return to NYC after my Hawaii trip. BTW, I need to take more pictures of more moments. Thanks for putting together this video.

I find the process of editing the video of the trip really helps. And hen planning the next one. I like the idea of joining a tramping club. Nice video.

Totally right. Having to pour over lots of footage and review it several times helps to remind you of things you may have forgotten or not seen while taking it. All the best.

Me and the wife just got back from a week walking and backpacking on the Pembrokeshire coast path....
    It was absolutely fantastic....
We were feeling low at the thought of returning home....
Only to be completely shocked to find out we were being evicted!!!
    Totally crushed....
Times like this wish we could run away from society with our backpacking gear and just go!
To help combat the depressed state we are in we know that there are many like us and plenty of people in far worse situations..
We will get through this... keep up the good work Barry... excellent video as usual..
Good point to talk about.. I agree that planning the next trip as soon as possible is a good idea.
    Keep up the momentum...

Oh WOW, Rich! I’m so sorry to hear you have to move out of your home!!! What a kick in the guts, especially after coming back from such a great trip. As you know, good things come to good people and you will find a another house you can both call home. All the very best in the next chapter of your lives. 👍🏼

@@wildmountainman1 Another good reason to go backpacking. Good for the mind and spirit.
A good way to escape and de-stress.
A good way to regain some confidence and happiness.
      Especially in today's world.
Get out there and find that freedom that backpacking can give that the modern world cannot take away.

Totally agree, Rich. Getting out in nature calms the silliness and stress and brings you back to a sense of peace and contentment. All the best out there. 😁

    Nicely composed 👏👏👏
I find the process of editing and promoting my outdoor adventures keeps me in the moment. Unlike yourself, I preference resetting via bush bathing either solo or with no more than four. I did Annapurna base camp for my 50th.

Thanks Dave. Yes, us creative types can relive the moments in time we capture over and over again both in the editing and final product stages. It certainly does make it fun. I look forward to seeing your next vid. 😁

We would have seen you for sure. Some of us stayed Sat night in tents, the rest of our group in the hut. We did eat dinner in the hut though so no doubt would have seen you. It’s small world. 😁
