0:23 Ever since hearing botw’s beautiful renditon of Dragon Roost Island back in 2019, I’ve wanted it to be included in an epic song for a climactic moment, and 4 years later, MY WISH CAME TRUE! AND IT SOUNDS BETTER THAN I COULD HAVE EVER DREAMED! I had to pause the fight for a few moments after this part played to fully take in how amazing this boss fight theme was
I wish I could erase that fight from my memory to re-experience it like the first time. It was so epic and by far my favourite boss fight from any game
Ngl I has to pause mid fight because it was so much to take in. I had very high expectations for this game and it surpassed them. This being the first boss was the best thing
Fr not only is it an ice version of a wind waker boss the temple it’s in is an element first present in the wind waker and last but not least the instruments are roughly the same as the wind wakers
Surprised so many people are missing the Molgera motifs in this song. It's obvious that Rito Village/Dragon Roost are used in this but using Molgera's theme as a base for the flute part was genius

@@blue_lux exactly my guy. Everyone here mentioning Wind water when the music is most resembling rito village from botw (I know that resembles windwakers theme but still)
Man, this is the perfect evolution of Molgera in soundtrack form. Keeping bits of the Molgera theme, adding 'Boss Advantage' from Twilight Princess and Dragon Roost Island from Wind Waker, and playing it all out with the same flutes from the original Molgera fight was the best idea. They hit it out of the park. Sure, the fight was easy, but it was certainly epic and memorable.

This fight was very easy, but it was so ridiculously cool. They combined the vah medoh raid and malice naydra battles from botw and made it hectic and fast paced, large scaled and spectacular. Not to mention all the nods to Wind Waker. God I loved the battle so much.
Best Zelda main quest in a LONG time. The whole journey is breathtaking. Especially the quiet, eery version of Dragon Roost Island when the village is still frozen
@@Gas_Daddy Yeah, I like Zelda’s style of music more too. But ff16s win was definitely deserved, even if I prefer songs like Colgera and the ending music.

Bro what the absolute fuck. Nintendo cant just pump this mf out of nowhere while im falling to my death constantly. What a shocker hearing this was, this might be my favorite Zelda track of all time out of nowhere. What a fucking track man
Words cannot describe just how much I loved the build up to this boss. Getting to rito village and hearing one of my favorite songs play in such a somber tone instead, everything frozen and almost nobody living there, dark, and cold. Instead of getting easily distracted like I usually do I was so focused on wanting to save this village and bring it back to what it once was. Then climbing up to the wind temple, getting higher and higher than ever in a Zelda game, with the music just getting more and more intense, until finally reaching the temple. Then once at the temple trying to figure out where the locks were and hearing the music again get grander with each one I found, encouraging me to keep going, only to become silent right when I found the last one. Finally leading up to the boss and hearing the amazing song play, knowing that I was finally at the point where I can put an end to this blizzard and restore the rito village. Although the fight wasn't too difficult, the spectacle and music just had me in awe and had me more emotional than expected. It's moments like these that make me love this game so much. The directors knew EXACTLY what they were doing and were so meticulous in making sure it all came together, all the while putting wind waker references which made me love it even more. I just wish I could re-experience this again and I can't wait what the rest of the game has in store for me
The triumphant rendition of the Rito Village theme is so cool, considering that the only version we've heard up to this point is a desolate and dying version of the theme. You're hearing this as you are destroying the cause of the curse, it's almost like the Rito themselves shouting "we're not dead yet, will fight to our last moment, ganondorf will never destroy us!" Whice us perfectly encompassed by Tulin, as he fights alongside Link himself to save his people. This is truly the perfect introduction to TotK's excellent dungeons.
Tulin is my favorite sage, his ability seems rather weak at first but once you've started using it a lot you really appreciate what it brings to the table. Plus the fact that his bow shots do pretty good dmg.
The Wind Temple was my first dungeon and the lead up to it, the atmosphere, Tulin (best companion) and the epic boss fight with this incredible song playing just gave me chills. It felt so cinematic in every way and even after completing all dungeons, the wind temple is still by far my favorite. The others were all still cool but they didn’t reach the same level of hype and epicness that the wind temple had
During the second phase (I decided to stop using arrows because I was curious if there was another way) I discovered that you can damage its exposed weak points by *DIVING IN* even Tulin reacts to it! That discovery alone made me into my favorite boss, the absolute epicness of literally headbutting throught this bastard's hearts has marked me for life!

2:09 ❤ Goosebumps… Actual biggest goosebumps I’ve got in a very long time. I’ve never heard the Dragon Roost island theme sound SO BEAUTIFUL since Wind Waker! This game is phenomenal and makes me feel the kind of magic that Wind Waker also did, I feel like TOTK is what BOTW really wanted to be like. From level design, Boss battles, Music, cutscenes, replayability (beyond just speedruns and doing the same things better, over and over again) and enough mechanics in the game, and richness in the world that actually makes the game feel more alive than how empty BOTW felt. It speaks volumes when you realize BOTW’s music was just the Hyrule Castle, Final Boss fight, and that’s it.
The music that playes when attacking Vah Ruta and Vah Medoh is amazing as well! Both amazing tracks. And all the character themes were beautiful as well, like Mipha's theme and Urbosa's theme
Honestly one of the best songs in the franchise, holy jeebus - and in a franchise like Zelda with an insane amount of amazing songs, that's an achievement. Seriously incredible, it actually gives me the chills (heh).
Fighting Colgera while flying with Tulin, and this playing in the background makes you feel like a true goddamn hero. It's like both Link and Tulin pushing themselves to their limits for the village, i love this game.

Colgera is something I missed in BOTW. It feels incredibly zelda-y and I love it. The traditional zelda formula introduces a new item or ability in a dungeon, then begins to explore it through the dungeon's puzzles. The final boss typically uses that mechanic in a new way or combined with another mechanic to make something interesting. Colgera takes the new diving mechanics with the old bullet time bow and it becomes this incredibly fun and satisfying fight. And of course, the famous music delivers once again. Taking the dragon roost theme from wind waker and its reimaging from rito village, and merging it with parts of molgera's theme. Easily my favorite boss so far in my playthrough.
TOTK is probably the most Zelda Zelda game if you think about it. The first Zelda had pretty much no direction and was completely open ended, made to satisfy Satoshi Tajiri's wish of making an experience similar to exploring the wilderness. The later entries like ALTTP became more focused and linear, and OOT solidified the linear Zelda formula. But BOTW returned to the open endedness and wilderness theme of the original. TOTK combines it with the more traditional dungeon designs. So it really is the culmination of the origins and tradition of the series.
I didn't even grow up with Windwaker and the Dragon Roost section still had me on the verge of tears, shit transcends generations and goes straight to the feels!
I absolutely *adore* that they snuck in snippets of Dragon Roost Island’s theme. 0:23 What a perfect thing to revisit for the climax of the Rito quest.
Colgera's theme sharing a motif with dragon roost island from wind waker is perfection. I love when they use music to draw connections, such as the Rito being connected across generations by that slappy bridge

@@MrSailing101not the first nod to thanos in this game
Making this theme basically the rito village theme is genius. It makes thematic sense as tulin's fighting colgera to save Rito village from starvation
And the rito village theme being dragon roost is even MORE GENIUS ITS ALL SO BRILLIANT

Well, that and Maz Koshia. But yeah music was really lacking in botw

Dont forget you can nose dive through the weakpoints. Amazing boss fight.
Don't forget that Tulin is THE item for this dungeon, without him, you can't even activate the fans and then fight colgera.
@@McCaroni_SupAbsolutely agreed. Well said.
