I definitely didn’t realize enemies reappear in the depths, the first time I actually went into one of the chasms after beating the Wind Temple as my first temple, didn’t know I needed to illuminate the light roots, and accidentally floated into a second boss fight with this thing in total darkness. That was exciting.

YES SAME! the soundtrack, flying in the air it was all AWESOME! fight wasnt hard at all, i can relate this fight to the Deer fight in Elden ring, easy fight, but you felt like i dont wanna fight this thing because it was soo majestic and the music made it soo memorable.
I didn't love the boss fight. I figured it out almost right away, and I don't think he hurt me once. His weak points were too obvious. But the theme was killer! Hands down my favorite boss theme in this game!
the fight wasn’t hard, but the boss theme was so good, i purposely delayed finishing the fight just to hear more of the theme while soaring around in the wind
Frankly Colgera has such a great theme, it's really cheering you on and on. It starts slow, essentially telling you to breath in and rise to fight this gigantic beast. The woodwinds emulate the rising wind, the tuba represents the monster and the glockenspiel, the biting cold air. Then you get his first weakspot, the music tenses up as the boss writhes in pain. The quieters parts fit your slow glide through the airs while the furious horns show Colgera riling up. There _is_ hope left, you can defeat it, just focus on avoiding his attacks and strike again... And when you do, the music swells with hope and joy. The flute sounds unsteady, almost out of breath, yet it plays on and gets supported by triumphant horns when it fades away. You're almost there, keep going! And of course, the main melody gets interrupted by horns and strings shouting in unison *"For the glory of the Rito!"* Just one more hit and it'll all be over.
Even though this boss battle doesn't require a bunch of precision or strategic use of the weapons, the fact the health bar only has six intervals, and the battle is so modular... It makes for an outstanding soundtrack, just as you've described. Might not be the most fun to play but certainly the most fun to experience.
@SkyfoxDartner He did, when he said: "the main melody gets interrupted by horns and strings shouting in unison "For the glory of the Rito!"". He was refering to that WW reference that literally interrupts the flute melody the first time in phase 3.
Finally someone does it right. Nice of them to try but I swear it's like 99% of people who upload game music have no actual sense of rhythm or pitch when stitching tracks together.
I'm not gonna claim to have any sense of rhyhtm or pitch or musical expertise, I just take recordings from the game and line up the audio files accordingly 🤷♂️ Regardless I appreciate the support!
I'm so glad the Rito got a bigger chapter in ToTK. I always felt like their segment in Wild was rushed. Instead this epic mountain climb into the very sky was the best "first temple" I've ever played, and the others didn't dissappint either!
Goddamn. For kids playing this game at ages 10-16, this is going to be what Disney was for a lot of us in our thirties and forties. The amount of love put into crafting a beautifully exhilarant and memorable experience is tangible in just the music by itself.
Me fighting Colgera: "Ugh, my arrows are missing! How am I going to beat him?" (Remembers back to getting to the Sky Temple, shattering an ice floor) "That couldn't work... could it?" (Dives headfirst into Colgera's purple section. It shatters.) "Wait. THAT WORKED?! THAT IS SO COOL!!!"
This fight (and the entire Rito quest) was my absolute favorite for a number of reasons. I like how, if you do this one first like Purah tells you, it feels like Link and Tulin and growing together. You're both learning how to be warriors. When you get to the fight, the cutscene where they're both blasted into the sky is awesome because Tulin uses his wind gust to right himself (a bit that might get missed, but shows how in tune with his power he is), Link joins him, and then they both dive fearlessly into the action. From a game development standpoint, this fight does a great job of reinforcing and training you on the dive mechanics and sky combat, along with practice dodging spikes that foreshadows dodging the Demon Dragon's fireballs at the end. I also love how, instead of flipping him upright to the normal bullet time pose, there is a pose of Link shooting from his stomach as he's skydiving. It's just a small thing, but I love it 😂 And afterwards, when Tulin gets his stone and he almost hesitantly confirms, "So my mission is to fight the demon king with you?" there's a moment where it feels like he might be scared, and I'm sure Link senses it, too. But then Tulin turns around and proclaims, "Link! This is so, so amazing!" The music swells with the trademark accordion of Rito music, an instrument that had been missing up until that point. All Tulin ever wanted to do was help out... and now he gets to do more than he ever thought he could. Beautiful.
Honestly it's great if you leave the quest for later because it's sort of like a close bond between a student & a master. Because you start seeing tulin grow as a warrior, fighting along your side & actually helping & showing skill in how he handles the fight with you, wouldn't you be proud of the kid as a master or role-model (sort of)?. And his happiness when he gets a chance to help you is profound because he looks up to link & is proud to fight by the side of the person who inspired him to fight, & same with you as you see what was a little rito who people didn't think much of grow into a strong & capable warrior because of you as a inspiration & his own training. He's not a student, he's a master now, & i'd sure as hell would be proud of him because of how much he has grown.
"Dreams will fade when you wake." Cherish the moment everyone and let's all hope these amazing songs don't get taken down. I've been waiting to hear this seamlessly put together since I first played this boss. Thank you so much for uploading this :)
Sure everyone is talking about the (VERY EPIC) Dragon Roost Island bit, but I absolutely love the Second Attack part, Colgera's theme sounds so eerie, so villainous, SO TENSE. The strings going up and down, the rythm being constantly broken, Ganon's theme sneaking in, and the key constantly going higher and higher until it ends with a melody similar to Molgera's theme flute, the super tense music turns into a hopeful "ATTACK NOW!" symphony. This boss fight is so so perfect, holy shit.
I find it rather impressive that Tulin handles his bow with his... Feet? Talons? During Breath and AOC, we saw Revali handle his bow with his arms and hands, which probably hindered his mobility. So it kinda makes sense to handle flight with their wings, and their bow with their talons.
I think it actually has to do with a strength issue. Tulin is still relatively young and small for a Rito, so in order to shoot from their giant bows, he needs to put his entire body weight into it. That's how I interpreted it at least🤷
Usually Rito Will use their feet to fire their bows like Tulin does. For some reason though, Revali uses his wings. But on concept art and such you can see Rito firing their bows like that.
@@alvaronavarro4895 wonder if it's got anything to do with revali trying to show he's better than Link/Hylians, doing archery their way. since that's kind of his whole shtick lol
I loved this boss theme... I was so happen real dungeons returned with new and unique bosses. My first boss was Marbled Gohma but then I went to the Wind Temple and the moment I heard this theme I got pumped.... the violins screeching like wind blowing violently.... the flute bringing the harmony of just flying through the air, the sounds playing like you're being chased by Gloom Hands signaling that this is a threat, and needs to be dealt with, and then it HITS YOU WITH THE DRAGON ROOST ISLAND THEME!!! God. Damn. BRILLIANT!!!
Why did they have to give the quickest boss the BEST THEME?! Also, you are seriously amazing. I don’t know what I would do without your edits they’re perfect 💖💖💖
Going in blind and hearing the molgera motif i was like "huh neat, nice call back" but when i heard the dragon roost island motif it was like the spongebob ascending meme, it was my childhood coming back all at once and socking me in the gut. 10/10 would ascend again
First time I saw it in the Depths, I was horrified. I'm scared of the dark, and giant creatures (I was basically screaming the whole original fight). My heart dipped with every step I took towards it, but once I actually got into it, and the music played, I was able to get over myself really quickly. Yesterday I fought it again, and killed it so fast I didn't even get to the Dragon Roost bit. Feels good to improve.
i fight the depths bosses and lynels all the time for sport but after i knock the socks off colgate (a nickname ive given him bc mint = cold and colgera just really sounds like colgate) I delay on the 3rd disk to vibe
Maybe my brain is weird (it is actually) But, when I first fought Colgera, I instantly knew to just head dive first in his spots Something in me just clicked when I tried to avoid his spikes, and I found myself just free falling towards this monstrous beast F to all who used all of their arrows
THANK YOU for the seamless version! All the other uploads that include the huge fade aways and gaps between each transition are bad. It kills the momentum and build-up of the song. Again thank you for this! Now we need an hour version of YOUR seamless version.
I just found your channel, and this is excellent. I’ve been so sick of the constant uploads of this ost which just fade the different phases of bosses and temples in and out. I’m so glad someone finally did it right. HUGE appreciation for your work!!!
Every Zelda has a boss fight theme that is "the best boss fight theme" of the game, I think I can speak for everyone when I say this is the best one from Tears of the Kingdom.
This track is just so darn good. The intensity builds so well and there is this breakout moment where the Rito theme plays and it gives me chills every time. Really sells the feeling of little Tulin truly becoming the Sage of Wind and the pride of his people.
I love how the part with the dragon roost island theme hits hard equally for people who have played wind waker, and those who haven’t because it’s also the rito village theme.
When the dragon roost Island theme came in I literally got so emotional that I barely kept it together let's just say I'm glad this boss was easy because once it came in I literally fucking lost it for about 10 seconds and I almost fell to my death but then I corrected and then I became a serious warrior and like toys around with it until the song was finished tracking through then I just ended him like the hero of the winds and meme faces was literally saying dude I'm here let's kick some motherfuking ass and look like a legend while doing it
I never stayed above him long enough to see him do his spike launch attack, so I didn't even know it was a thing until I saw it in a video 3 days ago. I've thought this entire time his only attacks were running into you and tornadoes
Oh my God, wind waker HD how i love you and how much love transformed into nostalgia we all received. i legitimately had to pause the game and cry for a good minute.
even ignoring the Dragon Roost island reference, this song is still a masterpiece. It is grand, and intimmidating in the first part, almost giving a sense of awe and wonder as you gaze upon the massive beast. The second part brings a sense of urgency and need to defeat the boss. The deep, terrifying notes give you an urgency to take down the flying worm, as well as the serious tone urge you to shoot the damn thing in the glowing blue parts. The third part gives you your sense of hope and edge to defeating the boss. Epic notes reminding you of Rito Village tell you that this horrible blizzard is almost over and you are almost done with your mission. It gives you a sense of emotion and accomplishment as you deal the final blow. This piece, although given to arguably the worst designed boss in the game, makes this boss my favorite (alongside the atmosphere and general vibe of killing this thing in a giant blizzard tornado)
The only wrong thing about this boss fight, was that it was too short. You dive into one weak point, wait for him to appear under you, and shoot the other two with arrows. If you get the hang of it, the fight only lasts like 2 minutes.
Clearly the most favorite and prolly the best boss battle theme in the game. Made even better by the fact that you can reface these guys in the depths at key locations for great loot
I just listen to the theme when I fight Colgera in the Depths. I didn't know Colgera's Theme when I beat Wind Temple. It was my first temple so I didn't know how good this was. I just plowed through Colgera without knowing the theme.😂😂😂
I get chills and tear up (pun intended) every time i hear the dragon roost island theme in this song. Oot was my first game ever but WW was the first game i ever beat by myself. It holds such a special place in my heart and this battle evoked such intense memories and emotions when i first heard this.
The moment you knew Zelda bosses are back: this whole theme. Best take on Dragon Roost Island and a cool 3rd iteration of Molgera. Yes I'm including Molduga too. Functions almost the same like Molgera except you're airborne with the fun aspect of TOTK and BOTW's paragliding. You have a companion by your side. It's put in a Wind Temple like Wind Waker. Nintendo gave what you wanted and they didn't do it badly.
I remembered that I had to pause the game when I heard the beginning of the song, I was so impressed by how magnificent it was. I had shivers and I still have them ! One of my faves songs of the game
Is the fight repetitive and kinda boring? Yes. Is this my favorite boss of the game just because of the music? Absolutely. Say whatever you want about the fight itself, this bgm is UNDENIABLE.
I remember doing this boss fight and was so poor at the time I couldn't even afford arrows and was fighting off the cold with the apples and mushrooms I gathered. Anyways, when I got to the Colgera battle I realised I wouldn't be able to do it as I thought it would be similar to Vah medoh when you needed the bomb arrows until I remembered messing around with those ice puddles at the entrance to the village which at the time was all cold and abandoned. I then didn't even think twice before diving straight into Colgera's weak spots. Best moment ever. Then when that third attack on it happened and dragon roost just blasted in I had to pause it to cry, Such a good boss battle with the best music ever.
I love the zelda team for making zelda as like a memory to other games cause it felt like we are getting reincarnated with link zelda and ganon all over again the nostalgia just hits like it felt like you’ve been there before they really captured that when i was fighting colgera i was like hey i’ve heard this before i’ve been here i know this so the fight just became cinematic and felt like i was the one battle colgera link you be my side kick this is my show thats how i felt it i love nostalgia when i play legend of zelda beat game ever no wonder i became attached to nintendo
Listening to this again makes me realise how awesome this theme is During the battle I was too busy trying to defeat Colgera I didn't even hear the music I've never played Wind Waker, but that little call back sounds fucking amazing
It was perfect. The theme was epic and at the same time nostalgic. The fight was cinematic and fun as hell to play. The chills just would not stop. I may have cried. But then Tulin got absolutely fucking smoked by Colgera on his way up and out of his portal and I laughed my ass off
I can't imagine how incredible this was for people who played Wind Waker back in the day. I almost cried just from the Rito Village connection.
I didn’t even think they could improve Rito village
The flute playing the Molgera theme in phase 3 is awesome, too.

There’s something about this which just feels so grand, like the world is counting on you, everyone’s watching and you can’t fail and I love it!
I love how the part with the dragon roost island theme hits hard equally for people who have played wind waker, and those who haven’t because it’s also the rito village theme.
When the dragon roost Island theme came in I literally got so emotional that I barely kept it together let's just say I'm glad this boss was easy because once it came in I literally fucking lost it for about 10 seconds and I almost fell to my death but then I corrected and then I became a serious warrior and like toys around with it until the song was finished tracking through then I just ended him like the hero of the winds and meme faces was literally saying dude I'm here let's kick some motherfuking ass and look like a legend while doing it
Everyone’s talking about Dragon Roost Island but that piano in that first and second phase is transcendent
Tulin being voiced by Bennett made this quest way more fun, and it was already cool as hell
I never stayed above him long enough to see him do his spike launch attack, so I didn't even know it was a thing until I saw it in a video 3 days ago. I've thought this entire time his only attacks were running into you and tornadoes
Might be the greatest piece this series has ever been associated with and I’ve been playing since a link to the past
Oh my God, wind waker HD how i love you and how much love transformed into nostalgia we all received. i legitimately had to pause the game and cry for a good minute.
oh these transitions are delightful. some of the best I’ve heard ngl, they fit together so well I got a little kick out of hearing them each time
even ignoring the Dragon Roost island reference, this song is still a masterpiece.
That about sums it up
I never thought I'd hear a recorder sound so epic
This is some good fan service!💨💨💨
The only wrong thing about this boss fight, was that it was too short. You dive into one weak point, wait for him to appear under you, and shoot the other two with arrows. If you get the hang of it, the fight only lasts like 2 minutes.
every time i hear the third attack part i get goosebumps, one of my favorite zelda tracks
Clearly the most favorite and prolly the best boss battle theme in the game.
Made even better by the fact that you can reface these guys in the depths at key locations for great loot
This makes you feel so powerful. With the Hero of the Winds standing with you in this theme, there’s no way you can loose.
Hearing this in a concert would be so amazing!
This is great! Will you do the rest of the boss themes??
Thanks for the comment! I can make that my priority.
I just listen to the theme when I fight Colgera in the Depths. I didn't know Colgera's Theme when I beat Wind Temple. It was my first temple so I didn't know how good this was. I just plowed through Colgera without knowing the theme.😂😂😂
Thank you for making a version like this
Thank you for making this and my day.
*Third phase starts playing*
Me:

personally I'm a diver
This shit is so good…
I get chills and tear up (pun intended) every time i hear the dragon roost island theme in this song. Oot was my first game ever but WW was the first game i ever beat by myself. It holds such a special place in my heart and this battle evoked such intense memories and emotions when i first heard this.
I am absolutely in love with the wind instrument work in this theme. Beautiful!
Colgera’s theme is the BEST!!!
Epic moment!!!!

😮😮😮
I remembered that I had to pause the game when I heard the beginning of the song, I was so impressed by how magnificent it was. I had shivers and I still have them ! One of my faves songs of the game
Everybody talks about the passage that make the connection to the rito village from TWW, but don’t forget about THAT part at 2:00
This song is probably the best in all zelda series. Its absolutely gorgeous.
My dumb ass didn’t even consider arrows after trying to hit the eyes. I just decided, “Throwing myself at this at Mach One seems fun!”
for me this its the best boss song
I really wish that the music of the other bosses reached the same heights as Colgera. The only boss theme that surpassed this was the ganondorf fight
I love the zelda team for making zelda as like a memory to other games cause it felt like we are getting reincarnated with link zelda and ganon all over again the nostalgia just hits like it felt like you’ve been there before they really captured that when i was fighting colgera i was like hey i’ve heard this before i’ve been here i know this so the fight just became cinematic and felt like i was the one battle colgera link you be my side kick this is my show thats how i felt it i love nostalgia when i play legend of zelda beat game ever no wonder i became attached to nintendo
i pissed myself in fear when i accidentally found colgera on the depths i wasn’t ready🥲
2:55 Heck yeaaaaaaaa
Listening to this again makes me realise how awesome this theme is
During the battle I was too busy trying to defeat Colgera I didn't even hear the music
I've never played Wind Waker, but that little call back sounds fucking amazing
this reminds me of "Shriek and Ori" from Ori and the will of the wisps
They didnt have to go this hard but they did, they did for us
Great work!
It was perfect. The theme was epic and at the same time nostalgic. The fight was cinematic and fun as hell to play. The chills just would not stop. I may have cried. But then Tulin got absolutely fucking smoked by Colgera on his way up and out of his portal and I laughed my ass off
I never played wind waker and this song gives me chills.
The battle was easy, but the atmosphere made it felt like you were saving Hebra from the living embodiment of the frozen north’s unforgiving cold.
