Mine won't cool at all in the slightest now. Same model. Compressor won't kick on. Thought's?

had exactly the same problem. Tested the wires like he shows, inverter board was dead. Bought a new one locally for $150 or so, replaced it, and now it works fine. Easy job except for trying to wedge that thing in and out next to the compressor without damaging the copper tube. Other than that, 15 minutes max.

either the power board isn't turning on the compressor, the replacement invertor is bad or the compressor is bad. Make sure on the front control that the sealed system is switched on... you can turn it off on that model I believe.

We have one of those refrigerators. Hopefully I won't have to do this but if it goes bad I'll know what to do. Thanks!

Great video. I have a similar GE fridge and have been having issues for 2 weeks. Initially the fridge wasn’t cooling as much so repair guy changed out the fan. Now fridge is over-cooling. Thermostat, sensor, and damper were all replaced. Still have the over cooling issue for the fridge. Only have 2 days before the fridge is hauled away and new one is delivered. I did the diagnostics like shown in this video but no idea what the information means or how else to test. What could be left as the problem- control board??

If the refrigerator is over cooling, I could only see it being 2 components. The sensors and the main control board on that refrigerator.

What model inverter board did you go with I'm having this exact same issue right now, would getting a 2.1 Amp inverter cause problems?

Get your model number put it in Google a lot of appliance repair parts will come up. Look at the picture diagrams and find the inverter part number to your model. You mean 2.1 DC volts on the inverter board, red and white wire? That might be OK I had 2.5 DC volts

Im.wondering if my ice maker randomly only a few ice cubes was a sign that the inverter was going. Someone is coming to look at it tomorrow as it no longer cools or freezes. Was away for the weekend and came home to it broke. Lost everything. 😢

There is a possibility. As the inverter turns the compressor on to deliver approximately 12° or lower temperatures to make ice.

Quesiton, My evaporator fan isn't working even with switching out a new one and my coils are not cold at all. Also, my refrigerator is about 75 degrees and my fridge is 65 degrees. Do you think this could be inverter related? Thanks so much.. trying to find a volt meter around the house now.

You could see if your evaporator fan is working in diagnostic mode. If the compressor is not turning on, it could be the inverter board or main control board.

@@appliance63 Thanks for the reply. So, I changed out the inverter board and the fans work and I can hear the compressor running. However, it has been plugged in for about an hour and it is still not reducing the temperature. Would that point to main board issue now?

I see you installed a different looking inverter than the one you took out. Can you provide the PN or link?

Inverter part number for my model was WR87X29409. For any appliance part # for your specific model. You can go to partsselect.com look for your part in picture diagrams and get your part number.

Gotta question for you. When I put the part number I get an inverter that’s 133hz when original part has 150hz. Is this an issue long term? How inefficient will the fridge be with the 133hz inverter vs the 150hz?

Interesting observation. If you have the right replacement part, I can only suspect that the difference in the hertz doesn’t make much of a difference? That would be a question for GE one 800 number if you can get an answer.
