My husband died from alzheimer's a year ago. I watched his decline daily as i was his 24/7 caregiver for 5.5 years. Watching donald i definitely see the same decline - common to most dementias - each time I see him. Everyone please vote blue!💙💙💙

Funny, my sister in law is the same way. But she said exactly the same thing your son in law said and she admittedly says she does not watch Biden speeches because she can't stand him. Not even sure she even watches Trump speeches other than clips. But she happily tells me she loves Telegram and Truth Social. She also watches people like Jimmy Dore since once a few years ago asked me if I ever heard of him. And I am not certain but she may also consume the propaganda from places like Newsmax and RCBN.

I heard this argument with the example of FDR, as well. It makes perfect sense - Biden has gotten a lot done! He also has the wisdom and humility to keep listening and learning from others, hence he's been more progressive than expected.

I am a PhD mental health professional who works with people with traumatic brain injuries and dementia. I have watched enough of Biden and Trump to state with assurance that Biden is experiencing normal age related cognitive decline, gradual, often misinterpreted due to his stutter problem which he has had since childhood.
Trump is another matter. There are problems with his semantic memory (not remembering or confusing names and dates), episodic memory (not being able to accurately recall events), and most importantly, he is now experiencing phonemic paraphasias on a regular basis (begins a word and then it trails off into garbled sounds), which is a serious sign of early dementia.

I have spoken to a Trump sycophant who was completely convinced that if Biden were to be elected our country would be just like communist China. A person who has been deluded into this type of belief will vote for Trump even if they are completely convinced that Trump has FTD and only has one more year before he can't function. I would vote for Biden if I thought he could only function for one more year, because I believe that a vote for Trump is a vote for the idea that democracy is too dangerous to be continued. The earnestness of the sycophant's belief that my side is the one that is deluded and dangerous does not for a second lead me to doubt my conclusions. Registered Dem here but not particularly liberal (I live in a major city and want to vote Dem in primaries). I defended Trump for years: "oh they take what he says out of context" OR "he's just joking around" OR "you know, he did some good things like a criminal justice reform bill!" The January 6 commission showed me how wildly wrong I was. I was so wrong. Biden 2024 all day, every day.

Omg so true!! I'm a nurse that works directly with dementia patients & I have seen Trump display some of the behaviors that my patients display. I also work with elderly patients who do not have dementia or Alzheimer's & Biden's behaviors are most certainly more aligned with someone who is just in the latter stages of life, but we should never underestimate the elderly. It disgusts me that in America elderly people are seen as people to be forgotten & put away instead of being revered (as they are in other countries) for their wisdom & experience. Honestly, I don't think Biden would even be running for office if it were not for the sole purpose of hopefully stopping Trump. He really would rather just enjoy what years he has left with his family, but he knows what another Trump presidency would do to this country & at this point in time he's the only one that has a chance of beating him in this year's election. Just my opinion.

I'm one of the audience who missed the Trump video directly on Pakman, but caught it on this play, at least Cain played it. I'm glad he also clarified that the melodramatic music was part of the speech presentation, ie Pakman didn't add it to dramatize the pause. So I'm glad Pakman bothered; gave me another chance.
Because David wasn't talking *to* Cain; he's talking *past* Cain. MAGAcultists like Will Cain loves to put up a kind of "noise wall" to shield other cultists from facts and truths. What David is doing is talking *through* that wall to reach others behind them who are not as fully brainwashed as Cain. That's how you fight Trumpism.

The rejection of a proposition does NOT shift the burden of proof onto the rejector. This happens in religious debates all the time. The burden of proof lies with the party that is asserting the truth of the claim, ie Biden is on drugs. The rejection of that statement doesn’t mean David has to somehow prove that Biden is not on drugs for the rejection to validated.
Exactly - shifting the burden of proof, or accusing others of doing it is a bad faith technique. He is also peddling back from an assertion that he’s on drugs so that he can deny he has to provide any evidence.
And yes, it is something you see in arguments about religion (“atheists claim there is no god, but can’t prove their claim”)

What I wish you would have asked is this, " If they have a secret cocktail to mask his dementia, why not use that cocktail for EVERY public appearance?
