My TH-cam channel seems to do fine with viewers and likes until the transfobs troll my channel and 👎🏻 my video. When the 👎🏻 outnumber the 👍…well, TH-cam algorithm stops publishing my video and there’s nothing I can do about it. I reached out to my daughter, my millennial and X gen friends, and they bumped up the likes. We’ll see if that works to help mitigate and/ or offset the haters.. Funny thing I also played the trumpet. 🤗

As a Swede who has been to the US and have had lovely American friends to visit me, where we have discussed Trump and his fans, I feel it is an educational issue combined with too many Americans not being exposed to cultures, politics and traditions other than their own. Free education matters! And being able to afford to travel.

These are my favorite kind of videos. I love seeing people use the Socratic method. It’s the only thing I’ve ever seen work to get people to think, really THINK, about what they believe and why, and it’s the only thing I’ve seen change people’s minds about what they believe. When I was young, I used to parrot what I heard other people saying without questioning it at all, then I’d go around repeating it word for word like it was fact. The day I finally understood that my opinion (or things I heard other people say and simply repeated) weren’t the same as FACT was the day my whole world changed. I am so grateful for the people who asked me question after question to help me see that I had absolutely NO idea what I was talking about or why I even believed the things I believed. They taught me how to think critically and do my own research, and that was everything. ❤️

The thing that struck me most about the train of thought from the penultimate interview, the election conspiracy lady, and I did like David's "invisible weightless tiger that doesn't need to eat" analogy, is that this is the kind of argument tactic wet all used on the playground when we were kids, trying to win some pretend scenario with more and more excessive one-upmanship: "I got you!" "No you didn't!" "Yeah I did!" "Oh yeah? Well I super speed so I dodged!" "Well I have super vision so I never miss!" "Well I'm bulletproof!" "I used a bazooka!" "I caught it and threw it back!" This is the kind of escalation in just layering excuse upon excuse that I'm talking about, and it's sad to see this tactic being used by adults to try to defend a political perspective. It's as disingenuous honestly as the "but what about" response tactic, because it shows an inability to critically think. You had a group of ultra-conservative voters who didn't even feel like voting Republican because the Republican mainstream wasn't conservative enough to align with their views, or at best they voted Republican because it was a vote against the Democratic platform that they strongly opposed, and then all of a sudden you had a front-running candidate who came onstage speaking the same kind of rhetoric that they identified with, and they felt heard and acknowledged for the first time in their lives, which is why they're so doggedly loyal and came out in droves to vote for him in '16, and continue to back him to the hilt no matter what - that feeling of someone who made them feel validated and vindicated in holding their beliefs and opinions, added to the fact that many of these folks follow conservative religious beliefs that are formed around the central notion of a messianic figure rising up for the people, absolutely explains why so many of his followers view Trump as not only their political savior, but why they also consider him to be so faithful and a model Christian when his own actions, words, and behaviors indicate that he is not.

They are very very sick creatures. Try not to feel frustrated with them. Instead look at them with pity and contempt and understanding, not meaning being understanding to them but being understanding that they have this dreadful disorder and what it entails.

These are my favorite kind of videos. I love seeing people use the Socratic method. It’s the only thing I’ve ever seen work to get people to think, really THINK, about what they believe and why, and it’s the only thing I’ve seen change people’s minds about what they believe. When I was young, I used to parrot what I heard other people saying without questioning it at all, then I’d go around repeating it word for word like it was fact. The day I finally understood that my opinion (or things I heard other people say and simply repeated) weren’t the same as FACT was the day my whole world changed. I am so grateful for the people who asked me question after question to help me see that I had absolutely NO idea what I was talking about or why I even believed the things I believed. They taught me how to think critically and do my own research, and that was everything. ❤️

The thing that struck me most about the train of thought from the penultimate interview, the election conspiracy lady, and I did like David's "invisible weightless tiger that doesn't need to eat" analogy, is that this is the kind of argument tactic wet all used on the playground when we were kids, trying to win some pretend scenario with more and more excessive one-upmanship:

I have a theory about these people. I think this crazy part of society was basically quietly disgruntled, felt they didn’t have a voice and quite possibly stayed out of politics. Trump is definitely the lightning rod and king of fools. But another factor to consider is the internet. Before the internet and social media was widely available, these people would just be the little pocket of village idiots - mostly mocked and ignored. But now they can all group up online and reinforce the crazy. It's also why Trump's covid rallies were so popular, they were big cult meetings where all the crazies could gather and feed off of each other's stupidity and craziness. Some of these whackadoos spent tons of money going to each one!
It’s social media fault and more specifically, Facebook. Once these ding dongs could, for the most part, start sharing the voices in their heads with others it pushed the accelerator to the floor and the ability to spread crazy through populations at alarming rates. Most simply aren’t equipped to handle this misinformation in any critical way. For a lot of them they do mindless and repetitive work so the most thoughtful part of their day may be choosing whether to watch The Bachelor or Honey Boo Boo in the evening.

This is pretty much exactly what happened. You had a group of ultra-conservative voters who didn't even feel like voting Republican because the Republican mainstream wasn't conservative enough to align with their views, or at best they voted Republican because it was a vote against the Democratic platform that they strongly opposed, and then all of a sudden you had a front-running candidate who came onstage speaking the same kind of rhetoric that they identified with, and they felt heard and acknowledged for the first time in their lives, which is why they're so doggedly loyal and came out in droves to vote for him in '16, and continue to back him to the hilt no matter what - that feeling of someone who made them feel validated and vindicated in holding their beliefs and opinions, added to the fact that many of these folks follow conservative religious beliefs that are formed around the central notion of a messianic figure rising up for the people, absolutely explains why so many of his followers view Trump as not only their political savior, but why they also consider him to be so faithful and a model Christian when his own actions, words, and behaviors indicate that he is not.
The most critical statement during this very good video, IMHO was "if we don't vote to decide who our leaders are, THESE people will." Get your a$$es to the voting booths people! Push everyone you know to vote or else the deluded, ignorant, racist minority will decide how you, and your children, will live your lives.

When these folks get together they seem to egg each other on and justify their opinions.
Since these MAGAts believe science is subject to their opinion, they then assume all science is true or false only relative to someone's opinion. And that is totally not what science is. But do we really expect that woman in the trucker hat, at a MAGA rally, to know what science is?
