    I recommend doing each activation for 20-40 seconds each
    I noticed a much better chest day and less soreness doing these in that range
    No need to rush through them either just focus on the stretch and squeeze

    Update6 months and I'm still loving this bench. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxo_64lVTGMk7y4aXTPxPOcQ3YTLyQ6kYV I use it almost daily. I've gotten used to the small wobble and it's no problem at all. Love the storage, it folds right next to my weight set in the garage and hardly takes any space. I wish the covering material was a little bit tougher. I have a feeling that in a couple years it'll tear, but the bench is very well priced that I would just buy a new one.3 month usage review. Awesome bench for someone looking for compactness and storage. I did have to drill a couple holes to adjust my preferred seating position and leg bar position but that's only due to my personal preference. It's very sturdy for normal workouts, but for anyone going above 100# dumbbell press it wobbles ever so slightly. I would probably go with a fixed bench if that's the case. That being said i can accomplish 99% of my normal gym workout with this setup. Very happy with the purchase.

Some good excercises I have to be careful I have 13 injuries so warming up is major for me . Thanks. I think this helps just about anyone. I can also recommend pressing into the possible problem area between the shoulder and the lats - a lot of blood held up in there that comes down your arms and likely gives you greater range of motion.

    Hey coach Brian, I’ve been benching consistently for about a year or two now, and I’m getting into the 300 pounds range now, i last pushed 305. For the first time ever, I’m starting to get some pain in the chest muscle that’s between my upper left pec and the front of the left shoulder. That strip of chest muscle that’s just outside the armpit the runs from the chest to around the shoulder area. I walkways warm up before I work out. I do shoulder rotations, bench the bar, 25s, 45s, 45s and 25s, etc. etc. I take my time warming up until I feel warm enough to do 2 plates and above. I should mention that I’ve been doing a lot of pull up’s recently and that’s when I started feeling the pain while benching. Do you have a video covering benching and pull-ups so I can get back to the basics and make sure I’m doing the proper technique again.

      Criticalbench no I’ve never had anything there, oddly enough I had a past ac joint sprain on my right shoulder that keeps me from heavy overhead pressing movements but that one doesn’t snap doing this movement. I do get some pain in my left though like kinda in my pec minor and front delt it’s this weird grinding feeling when I do push-ups, sometimes I don’t feel my left pec as much on movements too.

    Hey there
    I have a question: until a few years ago I was able to do like 120 push ups in one rep, but it's been a couple of years that when I do exercises that put pressure on my chest like push up, pull up and bench press, I get a nasty heart condition for about a month. I've gone to cardiologists and they told me that I'm fine. Do you think doing these warm ups will make me able to do chest exercises again?

    • @Criticalbench
      @Criticalbench  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Hmmm ... have you reached out to another cardiologist for a second opinion? We are not doctors and honestly, if any exercise causes you a "condition" for a month ... it MUST be further investigated by a healthcare professional.

    I get palpitations from the weights, it’s been going on for the past few days nonstop so I’m thinking about doing these exercises.

    • @Criticalbench
      @Criticalbench  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try these and also:
      Splash cold water on your face, which stimulates a nerve that manages your heart rate.
      Breathe deeply to help your body relax.
      Vigorously move to stop palpitations through exercise.
      Reduce anxiety in whatever way works best for your unique needs.
      Close your eyes, then use your hands to gently press on your eyeballs.
      Try the Valsalva maneuver: pinch your nostrils closed, then try to blow air through the nose with the nostrils sealed.
      Drink water if the palpitations are associated with dehydration.
      Restore electrolyte balance by eating foods high in calcium, potassium, magnesium, and sodium.
      See a doctor if it continues beyond 1 Week.
