I'm with Gregg. It would have been funny if they'd rated Parental Guidance R. But I agree with Tim that it's good they rated it PG because it is a movie for kids and families.
Agree with Gregg on the “comedy” aspect of the rating, but it probably came down to a financial choice. Which is awful and unforgivable, but i understand
Don’t shoot the messenger but I think rating it PG actually ties the whole “Parent Guidance” thing together (PG is the acronym for parental guidance- an overlooked fact that isn’t talked about enough).
that's the problem with Gregg, he never knows where he's coming or when he's going! He really needs Tim to anchor him down, I don't know why Gregg has to act so selfish and self centered all the time on the show.
I said to my wife this morning, I said I bet the producers of this movie were pissed when they remembered there was the movie called the "Three Amigos" because between Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei those are the three ami, amigos in this movie because of the energy and the comic sensibility and everything.
I really admire how Tim handled Gregg's immaturity in this episode. Despite all the shit Gregg gives him he is willing to disagree to disagree and still shows that worthless segment that Gregg has forced onto the show. He's a bigger man than me!
I'm a Gregghead, but man was Gregg immature here. Gregg clearly only gave Jack Reacher that dreaded no pops review because Tim loved it. Come on Gregg, let's get back to the movies for season 8.

The Blast From the Past house is located at 1972 Canyon DrLos Angeles, CA 90068, near the UCB Theater. In 1972, Gene Hackman won Best Actor at Oscar - Hackman famously also owned a house.
This episode is soooo good. When Tim picks James Bond as his worst movie of the year, surprising Gregg, so then Gregg picks Tim's favorite for his worst pick of the year. That just makes me guffaw. The looks Gregg gives when Tim says Skyfall 😂😂😂
Tim's comments about Skyfall being one of the worst movies of the year clearly upset Gregg "The Bond Freak". This is clearly the beginning of the end of their amicable relationship.
Does Gregg think dressing up in a business suit will mask his reprehensible behavior on the show. Please Tim, do us all a favor and put Gregg on probation until his attitude changes.
Gregg’s expertise is really on display in this episode. I’m sure that in the next few seasons will have Tim giving him more time to demonstrate his talents.

Wow, Tim's really gotta get his shit sorted out. I can't stand the way he treats Mr. Turkington like a fool. Gregg is singlehandedly keeping this show afloat, and I know this is a big statement, but he should be the host, and Tim the guest. 0 bags of popcorn for Tim, 5 bags of popcorn for Gregg and 1 sick bowling shirt.
It's not for me to tell people their opinions are wrong, but that's just objectively wrong. Tim is running a tight ship and Gregg isn't helping constantly acting out and trying to butt into Tim's hosting. He's very specific that Gregg is a GUEST and not a co-host in ANY capacity. I also disagree on the bowling shirt. It's ugly and stupid.
On rewatch, crazy to see that Greg threw the first major blow in the epic passive agressive war the show becomes. Tim's negative review of Bond was inconsiderate but sincere for his character whereas Greg's choice is just full of spite and insultingly pretentious
When I was initially watching this show and saw this episode I exactly said "you can tell at some point in the future Tim is going to have an electric music festival and kill young people vis-à-vis some sort of vape system" I could just tell I honestly could exactly tell and predict that already from this point.
You know that's interesting, because I personally met several of the so-called Electric Sun 20 in the weeks before the festival, and they were saying that Tim is such a good guy he - their words, mind you - "Tim will never harm anyone and certainly not me." So crazy to think back on, but they made the truth known, loud and clear.
I was going to see Blast From The Past at the theater with my black friend in 1999 but he called me at the last minute and said he didn't have money, so my dad offered to pay for his ticket, but then he said that his parents didn't want him to see it. I think he was lying to me and coming up with excuses. He's not my fiend anymore. Anyway, I ended up seeing it with my mom.
As a doncter, I took the liberty of assessing what exactly makes a Tranghead and a Gorghead, check itout: Phase 1: 10-20 episodes in; You are curious because you know Tim Heidecker is funny, but you’ve never seen him outside of Tim & Eric before. You also have no idea who this unsightly Gregg character is. You start to pick and choose throughout the seasons of episodes where they review some of your favorite films that you know. You skip the ones you don’t know because why would anyone want to watch a review of something they don’t care about. Phase 2: 20-40 episodes in; You’ve settled into the format and start to become comfortable with Gregg. The episodes so far have been funny, but not laugh out loud shit your pants funny. You continue watching because now you’ve realized it’s a quick and enjoyable way to kill 5-10 minutes. Plus you love movies. Phase 3: 40-60 episodes in; Alright, now the show is starting to get funnier and funnier by the minute. You have seen enough now to start to pick up on all the subtle recurring jokes that weren’t funny back in Phase One. You aren’t a total Gregghead or Timhead yet, but you’re getting there. You’ve started to realize that every single idea Tim has is destined to get someone hurt or killed. You might be ready to watch the full highlights of “The Trial”, but if not definitely will be in the next phase. Phase 4: 60-80 episodes in; You suddenly burst in a fit of giggles at the slightest things these people say. From “Hey Guys” to Tim’s name mispronunciations, this show is becoming the best thing to ever happen to you. You are now mentally dedicated to finishing the entire 110 episode series and then some. You might have even gone back and rewatched a few just to fill yourself in on the storyline. Chances are, you’ve randomly selected an episode where Tim is maimed or beaten beyond words and you want to go back and see the slow progression of what got him there. Also, by this phase, you HATE Dr. San. Phase 5: 80-100 episodes in; You have subconsciously begun rating almost everything you see in life on the “5 Bags of Popcorn” scale, even things that don’t have to do with cinema. For myself in this phase, I began rating cars and houses I’d see as “5 Bags of Popcorn” if I really liked them. It just happened automatically. You may be reading this in Phase One and think “that will never happen to me”, but don’t kid yourself, accept it. Depression of the realization that you will soon be out of fresh, never before seen episodes starts to haunt you. You try to stop as to leave some for the future, but you eagerly devour them daily until the final phase sets in. Final Phase: All 110 episodes viewed; Prayers for a full 12th season begin to run through your mind. Memories of all the times Tim yelled or Gregg did a popcorn classic spring into your mind throughout the day to give you a hearty chuckle. The 1,000+ inside jokes are now easy to spot. You are a total Gregghead or Timhead and you feel absolutely included in the On Cinema At The Cinema family. You can’t think of the films Star Trek IV or Oh God! without splitting a side. You develop your own personal “favorite running gag” to comment on or discuss with others in the “family”. Mine being how every episode spans from 5-15 minutes long yet they are ALWAYS concerned about “if they have enough time left” for Gregg’s segments when there is clearly no time limit at all. Welcome to the family! FORYOURHEALGTH!
