Im starting a store on this, still learning. But all they do is find public domain images of artwork online and they can sell it. Easy idea but lot of work to resize and mock up all the images per listing. They dont physically have the artwork or scan it to upload it on Etsy. They just save the image from a public domain source. Im excited to get into it👌🏻
It depends on what you want to focus on. Selling only digital files has its advantages, but the market is really saturated. The same goes to print on demand. Maybe offering both options would be better.
Thank you for your prompt reply - my originals are all painted digitally and have to be printed for physical pics to hang on wall - I have a Wix website under construction and need to know how to connect it to a shop where the printing is done at a very high quality and delivered direct to customer after payment for the link is received. Perfect that you already have everything digital. Have a look at Printful and Printify. Those usually integrate with platforms such as Etsy, Shopify, and maybe even Wix. You can actually order a sample yourself to test the quality, packaging, shipping time, etc. And then decide.

I am having a very hard time trying to place my work on a suitable platform - I need a place that deals with 20thC and recent fine art ....my own. Do you have any suggestions? You can actually sell both original artwork and digital prints on Etsy. So what you can do is scan your original painting and sell a limited number of 100-500 printed posters that can be signed and also list the original work for sale. This way you can increase the prices on both. More people will have access to your artwork (in poster form), and that will increase demand and price for the original art you have. You also get more brand awareness like that.
I am thinking about just selling prints from photographs. When I print them from big chain stores that also print photo's, they look good, but are not as vibrant as shown on my laptop. Since the image shown on Etsy will probably be vibrant because it is shown on a computer, I am concerned that buyers will return because the image does not look as advertised. Is there a way to improve this or a print shop that works with us to get a better match?
I would suggest trying different places to print them, also maybe look at print on demand options and do a test to see how it looks. Also, you have the option to only sell the digital print and they can find a place where to print them.
use device (laptop) or monitor with 100% SRGB, so when you print the art or open it on another device (with 100% SRGB to) the color result wil be accurate. CMIIW
Great video. I wonder how NorthPrint is selling copyright expired images from the 1800s but only allows personal use and claims copyright according to their site information? Surely a contradiction?

You need to provide more sizes to your customers if you want to sell online so that they can choose what version to print. You can look at big stores and see what sizings they provide.
You can easily use the .psd files to make some nice prints and generate some mockups using canva or other free apps. You can also start with creative fabric as the other person suggested.
