I wanted to Thank you very much for driving a million people over to my "niche". Rving and related products in the RV and camping niche are pretty good sellers most of the time. But unfortunately just that niche alone is just not enough to make a solid living off of. I firmly believe you really need about 4 different good selling niches to make a very good living. I personally sell in the RV and camping niche and I do pretty well. This particular niche was my 2nd niche market and I currently have about 1200 different designs up on about 12,000 different products, spread out over 4 P.O.D platforms. This niche alone could not support me and my family and I have just about every type of design imaginable from Boondocking to living in a van down by the river. But all together with my other niches, Military aviation, Cars and trucks, Farming tractors and heavy equipment, Patriotic and 2nd Ammendment, Funny Birthday t-hirts for all ages, California surf and skate and a few hundred designs in the Holiday niches as well. I believe this is really the only way you can make a solid living doing P.O.D. Sure you can make good side money with just one Lazer focused niche, but I'm talking about life changing money for my family and I. I currently have over. 21,000 designs on around 750,000 products. It has taken me 6 years, since September 2016 to get this far, the key to it all is consistency and alot ( years) of long nights designing and uploading, rinse and repeat, over and over again. But that's what it takes to make it in P.O.D. The long nights and consistency is the reasons alot of people give up and quite, its definitely not a get rich quick business, and most people for some reason think it is? Think of your P.O.D business as a retirement plan. If more people would just stick with it, they would get there, but unfortunately most people start like gang busters P.O.D and after 4 or 5 months they don't see thier designs selling that well and they give up before they even really started. I personally didn't make $1000 dollars a month until my 14th month. I thought I would comment and put in my 2 cents and maybe motivate a few people out there. Take care Brother. Hawk out!!
Hi, I have been at this P.O.D. thing for a long time now. It certainly feels like a long time. I have never taken a course from anyone as of yet? That's what TH-cam is for? Right" As for P.O.D. on Etsy? I'm quite new to Etsy. I have only been selling on Etsy for about 5 months or so. My wife on the other hand has been selling on Etsy for a few years, but she is not doing P.O.D.. She is in the Food niche and doing very well, I must say. I'm still pushing my way uphill in the P.O.D. business and I have done very well to this point. (Knock on wood) To be completely honest with you, I'm at a point in time right now that I'm really considering selling my P.O.D. business and just retiring to my ranch in Arizona? If I'm able to get what I'm looking for out of them, money wise and if able to sell all of them together as a whole, I will do just that. Interesting... I noticed on your Etsy Ads you have 167 listings at $5 a day. I thought the recommended approach was to only advertise a few items so the Ad Budget isn't spread too thin? ... And thanks so much for sharing. As usual, you are an amazing communicator.
Hi Brand Creators! I am new to Etsy and I have a question! When you make sale's on Etsy, do they pay you first, then you pay the POD company, or do you have to pay for your products first out of your own pocket. The reason I asked is because I don't have access to credit cards at this time. Please help, thank you ❤❤!
You can choose to get paid weekly, but I'm pretty sure you will need a credit card on file when you set up your Etsy shop and POD - Printify account. You might be able to get a pre-paid CC, but I'm not 100% sure. Hope this helps
I'm in a little black spot right now, not knowing if i should just quit my art and dreams.. or keep trying. I came across this video, i think i wanna give it a shot with merch as i always wanted... Your video game me a boost so, i'll try to learn more from your videos, i just discovered you today.. and see where it goes
Speaking from a small amount of experience. Finding your niche is important. I advertised a welcome board and ate alot of my ad spend. While other items sold really well. I turned down the ads on the welcome boards and boosted the ads on my positive selling products. It worked for a little but eventually slowed down. I went into the negative by using etsys internal marketing. Dont go crazy until you find your spot in the market. Its like gambling if you don't know what you're doing. My advice, don't be scared to spend money but be open minded and ready to pivot as there is not 1 solution. Find what works for you.
Wow thank you I attempted an Etsy shop a handful of years ago thinking that it was all about the ESO listings and I didn't understand how to work those into the description. Thank you for this wealth of knowledge gleaned and amazingly shared. Will head on over to your holiday insights video.
yeah, I like you have been doing online business for over 20 years and constant contact has been our go to for our email marketing. love your content brother and our friendship now on FB too.
yes the whole key here is building a list. which if it is based on current customers it will be not much of a list. we have one with our scuba shop but I am hesitant to email them with anything but the scuba shop interests.
Fantastic video! Super basic question - all the steps are super clear except how you find the products you sell for your new store? Only area I'm confused on where to go.
How do you protect yourself when some "customer" tries the "not as described" scam? All the payment process companies usually side with the seller, if it can be proven the item was delivered, however, if the "customer" claims it wasn't as described and then reverses the charge with their bank or credit card company, the payment process company will take it from the seller's account.
Thank you very much for this informative video. I am just starting again after more than 5 years and want to learn everything vital to my success on Etsy.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm not an attorney so I can't give legal advice, but for us we just used my wife's Social AND FILE AS A SOLE proprietor. Hope this helps
Thank you so much. I’ve been thinking about doing an Etsy shop for a while now and I have a lot of questions. You have answered a lot of them. Thank you so much I really appreciate it.
Hi. thanks so much for the load of tips and help you give. I am a full time teacher and dad of 4. I wanna ask about which design bundles can I buy and resell on products on etsy, printify and other marketplaces? Could you help with a niche? Thanks a bunch
Questions! So once you determine there’s demand how do you decide which first products to sell out of potentially thousands? Which data/metric can help you see which types of products are your best bet? Also once you decide those products and before listing then promoting them, where would you be getting your designs from? Step back, how would you decide WHICH designs to put on your products out of all the zillions of possible designs that exist (if that’s how you acquire your designs)?!!!! These are the decisions that have kept me paralysed for too long! WHICH TOOL/PROCESS in that tool can help you make the best decisions? Whether you buy existing stock designs, draw and design your own, outsource a designer to design unique designs for you. Thanks for any help with getting me thawed out from frozen overload mode!
I have a little voice inside me that says, "is this guy true to his viewers ?" "Are the comments actual ones and not like App Store ones, lol" but I guess that might real what I've just witnessed in this video. If it's as easy to make some money nowadays, then why the poor people still exist? Anyway, I enjoyed the velocity of your speaking flow and the efficiency. Good job, keep it up !
Yes I’m real and I do listen to the comments as you can see. The #1 reason why people stay poor that want to start a business is they never START! You’ve heard the saying I’m sure. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink. Thanks for the comment 😀
What settings do you have for etsy ads? Are you going for traffic on your Shop or Fast sales.. or something different? There is a few options what you want your ads to Target
As of right now, the only settings you have is what you want your budget to be per day. Then once you ads are running you can go in and turn off searched keywords that are not relevant. If there's a way to set up targeting...I haven't found it 🙂
So, when you add up all your fees: listing. transaction, credit card, and advertising, what is your Profit % before (and after) COGS? Also, are you paying for the enhanced version of Etsy (with the monthly charge)?
@@LMCEK He’s asking for the profit margin which is probably the most important question of all. People just dive into it putting their time and energy without knowing the ROI. Any smart person would be looking into this.
Yes it's a business, yes you're going to spend money as part of that, but TRACK YOUR EXPENSES just like you track your sales! I'm always amazed at how many people don't do the basics.
Just found this and this is all new and I spit to me . At 65 I would love to start something like this to raise money for some local charities in my city Kingston Ontario’s Never heard of Etsy before I will follow you to see if I can figure this out Snd not make an idiot of myself
I just watched your video on "If I Started a New Etsy Shop in 2023". It was great! I like how you get right to it. The data you gave was above and beyond. Thank you!
Hey Maria, that's not actually accurate. In fact, even as recently as last year....email marketing is still considered the number way return on investment marketing channel for e-commerce. Sure SOME people don't see the emails, but many do and as long as you're doing email marketing the right way....many of them will buy from you!
Another Etsy shop owner recommended creating multiple listings for the same item with specific tags in each listing to broaden the net of tags/item titles in an attempt to optimize SEO. Do you recommend that as well?
This has been hovering around my feed for a bit now. I don't think I've ever watched any of your others. But since I'm trying to revamp my Etsy page... I thought I might as well check it out. Glad I did. And your number six is touching on right where I'm at. I'm trying to plan out my holiday goods and when to start them. Off to check out that video about holiday hacking. And subscribed!
how many products do you need to put up before you start selling? do you sell any digital products or only POD products? how important is it to use social media in the beginning?
Start with 1 if that's all you have. Then build out your product line over time. We currently only offer POD, but may add digital too in the future. Social media is not that important at all in the beginning. We used Etsy's internal marketing tools.
I have 20 items on my shop page. In my experience you will find that there are items that sell really well and items that don't. Etsy is search based so its important to go into your analytics and see what people are looking for word for word by search. If you find an item isn't selling you can turn the ads off for specific items and that leaves it for etsy to advertise your products that are selling. I would say trial and error. If it doesn't sell in a month or 2 but you have 3 products that are selling, well get rid of the ones that aren't selling and add more items. Eventually you have a catalog of items that sell. Theres a lot of adjusting needed and have to pay close attention to your store. My Christmas items did really well during the holiday season while others did not. I kept them on my page but did not advertise items that weren't selling. It really is trial and error unless unless you have a successful mentor /marketer.
thank you. your tips helped me brainstorm alot of ideas for my starter shop. one thing im still skeptical is the whole printing process. if i sell print on demand items with my custom designs on them. who's gonna do the printing? i do not own any tools. just my machine which ill be using to make the designs. i'd really appreciate some hints.
Thank you for the video! I do have a question. If I want to create a product, but can’t make it myself, do you have recommendations for companies that will create a prototype or product for me to sell?
Hi, thanks for the super informative video. In a new shop, how many solid products in a niche do I need to have before I start running ads. Not enough I can see would be very counterproductive.

You're welcome!
I just found your channel and I'm happy with your approach. Do you have a video on naming your shop?
Thank you for all of your suggestions. The first time I tried it didn't work out. I'm going to try again and implement what you said.
@brandcreators How do you exactly setup the internal email?
You'll find this in the marketing area of Etsy for emails to be sent if someone Favorites, Abandon Cart and Buys.
Hi. thanks so much for the load of tips and help you give. I am a full time teacher and dad of 4. I wanna ask about which design bundles can I buy and resell on products on etsy, printify and other marketplaces? Could you help with a niche? Thanks a bunch
There are videos on my channel that go over choosing products and niches. I'd start there 🙂
This is also my problem 😢
Do you have any advice or tip son how much stock of my products do I need when starting my shop?
If there's a way to set up targeting...I haven't found it 🙂
Probably the best Etsy explanation for noobs I've seen on YT. Thanks a ton.
you're very welcome :-)
So, when you add up all your fees: listing. transaction, credit card, and advertising, what is your Profit % before (and after) COGS? Also, are you paying for the enhanced version of Etsy (with the monthly charge)?
If you can find somewhere to sell for free with zero fees then do it lol. Etsy is a business not a charity. Scared money don't make no money 🤑
Everyone can not even run a business so why is any of that a surprise?
Well done. Excellent and clear presentation. Thank you.
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
I am literally starting over from scratch! I need $$ because i need to treat me mother's health :/ Thank you for your advice!

Thanks for the tips. Can I have digital and physical products in the same shop?
Yes, that's up to you. I would want to make sure they are all focused around my Niche and brand.
@@brandcreators Thank you so much! It is very helpful!
Most people i know block sales emails or do not see them, this is because everywhere our email is asked and our mail boxes are flooded.
Hey Maria, that's not actually accurate.
In fact, even as recently as last year....email marketing is still considered the number way return on investment marketing channel for e-commerce.
Sure SOME people don't see the emails, but many do and as long as you're doing email marketing the right way....many of them will buy from you!
Great information! I wasn’t able to see sales and revenue on Everbee with the free plan. Am I missing something?
Omg I'm so glad I found you!!!! You keep it real ur honest u speak facts and helpful facts thank u fr
You are so welcome
Thanks for the great video! When you want to see if there is a demand for a product what kind of numbers are you looking at?
I am brand new to Etsy in selling my products. Thank you so much for sharing this information.I will follow your tips step by step
Awesome! Keep me posted
Another Etsy shop owner recommended creating multiple listings for the same item with specific tags in each listing to broaden the net of tags/item titles in an attempt to optimize SEO. Do you recommend that as well?
No.
Thank you for the quality video, it was so helpful. I'm going to be starting an Etsy store for my jewelry and I'm glad I found this video.
This was a pretty amazing Etsy - SEO - Video, thank you for sharing.
AWESOME! Glad you found it helpful :-)
Excellent content, informative and straightforward; and I didn’t even need to play the video at 1.25x.
Glad you enjoyed it.
thank you. your tips helped me brainstorm alot of ideas for my starter shop.
one thing im still skeptical is the whole printing process. if i sell print on demand items with my custom designs on them. who's gonna do the printing? i do not own any tools. just my machine which ill be using to make the designs.
i'd really appreciate some hints.
Great video and very helpful, many thanks. Do you have a separate video on step 4 and how to use/set up A Weber?
I’ve been wanting to start on Etsy. Thanks for the motivation.
I can also help you with some mentoring being an Etsy expert if you are interested?
Thank you for the video! I do have a question. If I want to create a product, but can’t make it myself, do you have recommendations for companies that will create a prototype or product for me to sell?
Can you clear our view about taxes and invoices?
Hi, thanks for the super informative video. In a new shop, how many solid products in a niche do I need to have before I start running ads. Not enough I can see would be very counterproductive.
As soon as your first product up and running you can turn on ads.
How do I get product to sell?
