AND you don't clutter your videos with annoying little gimmicky inserts, as so many on TH-cam are fond of doing. I'm now subscribed. Thank you for the gold nuggets of content! Bless you.

    I think one of the most important things to realize or questions we need to ask ourselves are:
    -Is Etsy the ideal platform for your future business?
    -Are you passionate about your business?
    -How much will it cost you to setup?
    -What are other services could I use to sell my products and/or what services can I use to link to my Etsy account(Printify)?
    -Do not go out and find random products. Find something that you can relate to.
    -Determine your business model
    So many people want to find the easiest way to make it work but just because it’s an online business does not make it easy! It also requires more then basic research!

      Thank you for this comment. So many people recommend digital product that "sells" which confusing and most of them is a product i don't relate. I want to create a digital product that i'm excited about so i can't do it in a long time.

    Great quick & easy to follow guide. My main goal for using Etsy/eCommerce is to generate a little bit of extra income to pay for my hobby & creative oulet rather than replace my income. I think these steps are relly helpful in organising and opitmising sales regardless of the monthly goals so I will definitely be trying once I have my shop stocked.

    I wanted to Thank you very much for driving a million people over to my "niche". Rving and related products in the RV and camping niche are pretty good sellers most of the time. But unfortunately just that niche alone is just not enough to make a solid living off of. I firmly believe you really need about 4 different good selling niches to make a very good living. I personally sell in the RV and camping niche and I do pretty well. This particular niche was my 2nd niche market and I currently have about 1200 different designs up on about 12,000 different products, spread out over 4 P.O.D platforms. This niche alone could not support me and my family and I have just about every type of design imaginable from Boondocking to living in a van down by the river. But all together with my other niches, Military aviation, Cars and trucks, Farming tractors and heavy equipment, Patriotic and 2nd Ammendment, Funny Birthday t-hirts for all ages, California surf and skate and a few hundred designs in the Holiday niches as well. I believe this is really the only way you can make a solid living doing P.O.D. Sure you can make good side money with just one Lazer focused niche, but I'm talking about life changing money for my family and I. I currently have over. 21,000 designs on around 750,000 products. It has taken me 6 years, since September 2016 to get this far, the key to it all is consistency and alot ( years) of long nights designing and uploading, rinse and repeat, over and over again. But that's what it takes to make it in P.O.D. The long nights and consistency is the reasons alot of people give up and quite, its definitely not a get rich quick business, and most people for some reason think it is? Think of your P.O.D business as a retirement plan. If more people would just stick with it, they would get there, but unfortunately most people start like gang busters P.O.D and after 4 or 5 months they don't see thier designs selling that well and they give up before they even really started. I personally didn't make $1000 dollars a month until my 14th month. I thought I would comment and put in my 2 cents and maybe motivate a few people out there. Take care Brother. Hawk out!!

    • @Hawktangofive1
      @Hawktangofive1 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Hi, I have been at this P.O.D. thing for a long time now. It certainly feels like a long time. I have never taken a course from anyone as of yet? That's what TH-cam is for? Right" As for P.O.D. on Etsy? I'm quite new to Etsy. I have only been selling on Etsy for about 5 months or so. My wife on the other hand has been selling on Etsy for a few years, but she is not doing P.O.D.. She is in the Food niche and doing very well, I must say. I'm still pushing my way uphill in the P.O.D. business and I have done very well to this point. (Knock on wood) To be completely honest with you, I'm at a point in time right now that I'm really considering selling my P.O.D. business and just retiring to my ranch in Arizona? If I'm able to get what I'm looking for out of them, money wise and if able to sell all of them together as a whole, I will do just that. My goal starting out in the P.O.D. business was to give it 10 years, This is my retirement package. I'm now in it almost 7 years, so I'm a little ahead of schedule, which is Awesome!! Take care Brother. Hawk out!!

    Hi Brand Creators! I am new to Etsy and I have a question! When you make sale's on Etsy, do they pay you first, then you pay the POD company, or do you have to pay for your products first out of your own pocket. The reason I asked is because I don't have access to credit cards at this time. Please help, thank you ❤❤!

    • @brandcreators
      @brandcreators  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can choose to get paid weekly, but I'm pretty sure you will need a credit card on file when you set up your Etsy shop and POD - Printify account. You might be able to get a pre-paid CC, but I'm not 100% sure. Hope this helps

  • @backtobasicswoodshop
    @backtobasicswoodshop ปีที่แล้ว +91

    Speaking from a small amount of experience. Finding your niche is important. I advertised a welcome board and ate alot of my ad spend. While other items sold really well. I turned down the ads on the welcome boards and boosted the ads on my positive selling products. It worked for a little but eventually slowed down. I went into the negative by using etsys internal marketing. Dont go crazy until you find your spot in the market. Its like gambling if you don't know what you're doing. My advice, don't be scared to spend money but be open minded and ready to pivot as there is not 1 solution. Find what works for you.

    How do you protect yourself when some "customer" tries the "not as described" scam? All the payment process companies usually side with the seller, if it can be proven the item was delivered, however, if the "customer" claims it wasn't as described and then reverses the charge with their bank or credit card company, the payment process company will take it from the seller's account.

    Questions! So once you determine there’s demand how do you decide which first products to sell out of potentially thousands? Which data/metric can help you see which types of products are your best bet?
    Also once you decide those products and before listing then promoting them, where would you be getting your designs from? Step back, how would you decide WHICH designs to put on your products out of all the zillions of possible designs that exist (if that’s how you acquire your designs)?!!!!
    These are the decisions that have kept me paralysed for too long! WHICH TOOL/PROCESS in that tool can help you make the best decisions? Whether you buy existing stock designs, draw and design your own, outsource a designer to design unique designs for you.
    Thanks for any help with getting me thawed out from frozen overload mode!

    So, when you add up all your fees: listing. transaction, credit card, and advertising, what is your Profit % before (and after) COGS? Also, are you paying for the enhanced version of Etsy (with the monthly charge)?

      @LMCEK ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you can find somewhere to sell for free with zero fees then do it lol. Etsy is a business not a charity. Scared money don't make no money 🤑

      @@LMCEK He’s asking for the profit margin which is probably the most important question of all. People just dive into it putting their time and energy without knowing the ROI. Any smart person would be looking into this.

      Hey Maria, that's not actually accurate.
      In fact, even as recently as last year....email marketing is still considered the number way return on investment marketing channel for e-commerce.
      Sure SOME people don't see the emails, but many do and as long as you're doing email marketing the right way....many of them will buy from you!

    Another Etsy shop owner recommended creating multiple listings for the same item with specific tags in each listing to broaden the net of tags/item titles in an attempt to optimize SEO. Do you recommend that as well?

    how many products do you need to put up before you start selling? do you sell any digital products or only POD products? how important is it to use social media in the beginning?

    • @brandcreators
      @brandcreators  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Start with 1 if that's all you have. Then build out your product line over time. We currently only offer POD, but may add digital too in the future. Social media is not that important at all in the beginning. We used Etsy's internal marketing tools.

      I have 20 items on my shop page. In my experience you will find that there are items that sell really well and items that don't. Etsy is search based so its important to go into your analytics and see what people are looking for word for word by search. If you find an item isn't selling you can turn the ads off for specific items and that leaves it for etsy to advertise your products that are selling. I would say trial and error. If it doesn't sell in a month or 2 but you have 3 products that are selling, well get rid of the ones that aren't selling and add more items. Eventually you have a catalog of items that sell. Theres a lot of adjusting needed and have to pay close attention to your store. My Christmas items did really well during the holiday season while others did not. I kept them on my page but did not advertise items that weren't selling. It really is trial and error unless unless you have a successful mentor /marketer.
