Hi Daniel, I just found your video today. I want to open an Etsy shop & the information you share is very helpful. Thank you! I'll be checking other videos by you.
Daniel, I've recently watched many of your videos, and they are wonderful. I got nervous, because as of a few days ago, your most recent video was two months ago. I was afraid you had stopped creating videos. And, was thrilled to see this new one. I opened up my shop three months ago. Almost 60% of my views convert into visits. Although that's a good number, only 1.3% of my visits convert into sales. So although I seem to be nailing my main listing photo and keywords, I'm falling short when folks are actually in my shop. Your videos, especially the ones on increasing sales through marketing and branding, are EXACTLY what I need to improve my sales rate (lol I can feel it in my bones). I can't wait to start implementing your sage advice! Thank you so much, Debbie
I am glad i stumbled into your video. I am just in the middle of opening a new Etsy shop to figure out why my existing store did not do well. Thanks for sharing your experience. How do i contact you off line
Thank you for this very helpful video Daniel. I am going to open a new Etsy store soon, as I have a general store at the moment and want to niche down. I am a bit worried about removing the niche listings to put them in my new shop though, as they will lose all the people who have favourited them and also bought them For the algorithm? Thanks again for all you do and I hope your shop goes from strength to strength 😊
Great Job @Daniel and thank you for that motivating video! Currently I have a general T-Shirt store on Etsy but more in more it is showing me that switching to a niche store is what will make a difference!
Awesome video Daniel! Are you currently using air fresheners in your store or other product category. I only got sweatshirts for now and not seeing much traction.
Thanks for watching!! The air fresheners were just an example of a product category, but I would to focus on one that is less saturated than more typical POD products such as shirts, sweaters, etc.
Good stuff! What keywords did you use? Which keyword brought the traffic that converted? Were all sales from organic Etsy traffic? Did you pay for Etsy ads? What percentage came from ads vs. organic? Did you run any social media ads? Did you promote on social media at all? Lastly, did you use stock mockups only?
Thanks for all your questions! - For keywords, I honestly kept it quite basic. Put yourself in your customer's shoes and think, what would they likely type into Etsy to want to find my product? - I ran Etsy ads for a very short period of time and was not seeing noticeable results (3 orders made via ads). Granted, I did not run ads for a very long time and probably should have left them switched on for longer to get a better idea. - All sales (except those 3 via Etsy ads) were completely organic from Etsy search traffic. I haven't run any social media campaigns or promote these products anywhere else so far. - For mockups, I don't use any stock images. I create fully customized photo packs for each listing, utilizing all 10 photo slots. I actually reached out to a mockup designer on Etsy to help design fully bespoke mockups for my product - it cost me approx. $30 and was fully worth it! Hope this helps :D
when i search for air freshener in etsy, actually not only air freshener but also like tshirt , hoodies or sweatshir, the prices on etsy are very low, even lower then the POD like printify, and its not only one or two seller but many, and they also offer free shipping, i wonder what kind of pod they use and how can they give free shipping? do your store offer free shipping?
wait you have been selling this exact thing? i saw it but didnt really think much of it but yeah kinda make sense that it would sell since EVERYONE has cars. gonna give it a go I think
Not sure about air fresheners. They do deplete on the scent so basically disposable and cost almost $12 with shipping through Printify. I love the idea of sports with a custom photo but I don’t see air fresheners, even customized, as being perceived as high value therefore, can’t make high margins. Great concept, bad product choice.
A Very Refreshing & unique strategy (PODOS ) and proven as shown in your Profittree stats. Would you happen to have any ideas on implementing the PODOS method to capitalize on the upcoming Holiday buying season? I am a total novice. A video like you did that showed how you combined the sports Niche with the air freshener product for giftable products, that were personalized with a strong emotional pull would be very helpful.
I always send them a design proof before production for them to approve, so I usually have a bit of a conversation with them via chat that way, but I never specifically ask for reviews. Etsy actually pesters customers for reviews automatically, I think me also asking would annoy some.
@EtsyDaniel Thank you, that makes sense ! The fact that you automatically get in touch with each customer is surely a nice way to get close to them :) Please remember to post a follow up in a few month to see how its going. As for my experience... I have started 2 months ago and the sales where initially very good, but declining week by week... no idea why... any hints on where to look / what to check? THX
did it ever happened that the customers reached out to you because of shipping problems? so, whenever someone makes an order, do you follow up with that order? or it's just being processed, printed and delivered automatically without you having to worry about it?
Thanks for watching! Shipping issues have been very rare. After I design a customer’s product, I send them a design proof to approve. Once they approve it, I then submit it via my POD provider - they then handle fulfilment and shipping 😊
Only 1.5 month in, can see where views keep increasing, but still not gotten any sales. How do I know if I am on the right track with good SEO and litings if I am stuck with a few views right when listed but then it falls off
Good question! Keep an eye on both your views and engagement metrics like favorites or adding items to carts. If you're getting some views but not many sales, it’s possible your SEO is helping people find your listings, but your product photos, descriptions, or prices might need some tweaking to convert those views into sales. Hope this helps a bit :)
Why doesn’t anyone properly explain the upload process and customization in detail? It would be helpful to show a real example with clear step-by-step guidance, especially for beginners. Most "TH-camrs" just use simple designs as examples, but that barely scratches the surface. If the goal is to genuinely help others, do it the right way-not just for views. For someone starting out on Etsy, this kind of vague content isn’t useful. I hope you understand what I mean. Thanks for the video, though!
Thank you so much for your feedback, and I get where you’re coming from! It’s important to remember that the viewers of these videos are at different levels of experience-some are just starting out, while others have been around for a while and may not need a step-by-step guide. In this particular video, I was aiming to cater to a broader audience who might already have a basic understanding, so I kept the examples more straightforward. That being said, I absolutely appreciate the need for more in-depth content for beginners, and I’ve already posted quite a bit of that on my channel (along with other creators). I’ll definitely be sharing even more beginner-friendly content in the future. If you have specific questions or if there’s a certain part of the process you’re stuck on, feel free to ask-I’d love to help clarify anything I can.
@@EtsyDaniel I would love videos on putting product variations within the one listing, please! And an end to end process for customization products. Great video :-)

What about shop reviews? Do you make anything special to boost them... like following up with the buyers etc? thx a ton 😊

Nope, no socials - so far I have solely relied on organic Etsy traffic 😊
did it ever happened that the customers reached out to you because of shipping problems?
so, whenever someone makes an order, do you follow up with that order? or it's just being processed, printed and delivered automatically without you having to worry about it?

How do you set up a listing?
I’ll be posting a video on the basics of listing products on Etsy soon 😊
@@EtsyDaniel love your video. I'd be keen to know how you set up your listing for the personalization
