That's a problem on many modern cars: the pillar on the left is positioned in a way that you cannot see where you are going on left turns (okay, unless you are drifting 😜) and the mirror is positioned in a way that you can hardly see anything on right turns. Really stupid, how this is legal. You need to have all kind of airbags, etc. to get a good safety rating, but being able to look outside of the car doesn't seem to be a consideration at all.
What a display of skill! Not sure if the road is as slippery as it looks, but I am surprised how well the Yaris catches the slide in such tight corners. AWD worth its weight in gold here!

A foot cam would have indeed helped a lot in enhancing our understanding as to how this car should be driven/"abused" properly :)

But, what I don't understand is, why don't we see car chases filmed like this in the movies? There is no music, no unnatural sounds, there are no cuts to make the footage look more exciting than it is... it looks fun, exciting and awesome because it IS fun, exciting and awesome. Hard disagree - it's a very popular car here in Estonia and I don't know a single one that doesn't get (ab)used on track and ice driving competitions. The modifying scene also caught up real quick and the main modifications done here are for rally purposes.
I agree, if I bought one I would not be able to do it justice, for one thing, the second I broke the wheels loose on a bend, I would lose my license. And we have some of the best bends here (20+ passes)...

Being,on the edge going 100 on public roads is a viper waiting to strike but 1st, 2nd, or 3rd geared corners whilst sideways is always a fun, moderately safe way to thrash a car. I love it

I Organize touge races in Switzerland (eastern part). We usually close down roads completely at night in order to do stuff like this. How do you handle traffic? Or do you just rely on luck that nobody shows up?
Does this auto rev match or do you have to perform heel-toe? Either way, very impressive. Very interesting that you have to go into 1st gear! I've never driven an IRL car like that, but I would expect that 2nd would be enough on a wet road.

This is pro-rally car driving. God-tier. Many race car drivers wouldn't attempt this in clear conditions, but there's moisture on the pavement and snow on the ground. That means it's wet and possibly icy. Could catch you out at any point, but you stay in control. Incredible.

when you pull the handbreak, it decouples the front and the back axle... so you can do proper rally style turns

It can automatically rev match but you can turn it off and do it yourself
at the end you can see that he drops from 3rd to 1st through 2nd without releasing clutch a the revs bump 2times while right foot is on the brake only
