      Personally I find it bad but at least it's not offensive, it doesn't have any agenda behind, so if you like it whatever.
      As for the film not being kid friendly if you people even knew what was considered "kid friendly" back in the 80s and early 90s.
      I'm not only talking about films here, even cartoon shows on Fox Kids.

      @@FriendlyCroock you know which Batman movie sucks and it’s very popular? The Dark Knight, the worst Tom Waits impression, I mean “The Joker” you know how I got these scars - Tom Waits mannerism and voice”. And the only reason the majority of people consider The Dark Knight a masterpiece is because of Ledgers poor Joker performance, which they consider life changing performance and worthy of a Oscar award. I rather watch paint dry than rewatch the dark Knight again, the only Good movies in the trilogy is Batman Begins which that is an actual masterpiece and for popcorn fun The Dark Knight Rises. But more power to those who love The Dark Knight, they are easily impressed and amused.

    Selina Kyle actually DID die from the fall. The cats that surrounded her, and took bites out of her, were actually "gifting" her one of their 9 lives.
    17:10 - Pretty much. Because it's Tim Burton, the "mystical nature of cats" came into play. So yeah, aside from gifting her extra lives, she was also gifted similar agility what cats have. Anyone who has a cat in their life knows that cats are natural predators, and have extraordinary jumping, leaping, and hunting abilities, as well as a "coldness" about them. Cats are survivors, and rarely show any sort of physical discomfort.
    One thing I can tell you (as someone who lives with 8 cats), is that cats are NOT "pets". Yes, they are classified as that by our silly society... but the truth is that "dogs have owners, cats have staff."
    Catwoman is just an extension of that theology, as filtered through Tim Burton's bizarre mindset.

    Technically, the next 2 Batman films take place within the same universe at the Tim Burton ones, but they are different in pretty much every way.
    This is by far the best version of Catwoman on screen, and she was the most talked about character in the film. There were plans for Michelle Pfeiffer to reprise the role in a standalone Catwoman movie, which kept getting put off until it become a totally different movie starring Halle Barry instead. It was TERRIBLE and a HUGE disappointment to those of us who had been waiting impatiently for the return of Selena Kyle.

    Fun fact: originally Harvey Dent was supposed to be in Max Shreck’s position and half of his face was going to be burned in the end after being electrocuted which would’ve set him up as two face for the third movie. That idea was scrapped but he was still going to be the villain in the third movie until Burton and Keaton left the project and they did a soft reboot. Batman forever is meant to be in the same universe but there’s just too many differences in terms of actors, tone, settings, that most people accept it as a a separate universe

    • @loudboy317
      @loudboy317 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are several factors that make it obvious that Burton and Schumacher's Batman movies are in the same universe:
      -Alfred and Commissioner Gordon are played by the same actors in all 4 movies.
      -In addition to Two-Face (being played by Billy Dee Williams}, Tim Burton had already planned on adding the Riddler into his 3rd Batman movie with Robin Williams playing that role.
      -Tim had also already casted Marlon Waynes as Robin but his scenes were cut out of Batman Returns.
      -There's a photo of Arnold Schwarzenegger on Max Schrek's photo wall which foreshadowed his appearance as Mr. Freeze in Batman and Robin.
      -Batman Forever acknowledged that Joker killed Bruce's parents based on the Waynes's killer having the same silhouette as Joker and when Dick tells Bruce that his parents weren't killed by a maniac, Bruce corrects him by saying, "Yes, they were."
      -Bruce's "revenge has become your whole life" speech was the movie's way of acknowledging how he killed Joker and Penguin while leaving Catwoman to die in a explosion.
      -Speaking of Catwoman, she was referenced in both Schumacher films ("Do I need skin tight vinyl and whip?", "Why are all the gorgeous ones homicidal maniacs? Is it me?").
      -When Batman said he has no luck with women, he was referencing both Vicki Vale and Catwoman.
      Finally.....
      -In Batman and Robin, when Alfred said, "Do try and bring this batmobile back in one piece, sir", he's referring to the destruction of the other batmobiles in Batman Returns and Batman Forever.

    • @xoler2167
      @xoler2167 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@loudboy317 I agree that there are indeed a lot of factors that try to connect the movies with lots of references as well as casting choices like Alfred and Gordon. Although the casting can be excused since we’ve seen JK Simmons play J Jonah Jameson for 2 different spidermen now, and the other quotes and references could work just fine if the Burton movies never existed. To list a few, we know Bruce has never been able to settle down with a woman so that can be seen in a few different ways, him saying his family was killed by a maniac could imply how he just sees all killers and criminals as maniacs although I will say the flashback to his parents death is very similar to the 89 flashback. The truth is that there’s a lot of things that can show how they’re connected but also a lot that show they aren’t such as Wayne manor being located in a completely different place without any explanation, the overall vibe of Gotham and giving it a more neon setting rather than the gothic one Burton gave, and how Billy Dee Williams was already Harvey Dent in that universe and it would only make sense to bring him back if they wanted to keep things more consistent. Like I said, it can really go either way and I just think most people choose to keep them separate.

    • @loudboy317
      @loudboy317 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@xoler2167
      Thanks to the multiverse, you now have 3 different actors appear as Spider-Man in the same movie. That film even acknowledged what happened to the villains that were in both the original and the Amazing Spider-Man films. As for your list, Tim Burton had 2 different Wayne manors in his Batman films so that part wouldn't really count. You could say that Harvey Dent's sudden skin color change between the 1989 film and Batman Forever was due to vitiligo because in real life, Michael Jackson had the very same problem. Finally, even Tim's version of Gotham City had giant statues all over the place so there's not much difference between both versions of Gotham other than the neon coloring.

    • @xoler2167
      @xoler2167 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@loudboy317 fair fair. You’re right about the Wayne mansion one, and the Two face idea could work it’s just that they should’ve addressed something like that for it to make sense. And it really wasn’t something like the statues all over Gotham that was different cuz that was the same, if Gotham had maybe just one small section of neon themes, it would work well but it’s the overall city that gives a more futuristic neon vibe while all of Burton’s felt gothic. Like said before, there’s enough evidence for the universe connections to go either way and it is clear they were trying to connect them in the first place. I just think overtime people forgot about that and saw enough differences to separate them. I even think WB doesn’t consider them connected now

    At the end of the last movie, batman effectively fulfilled his revenge, the man who killed his parents was dead.
    But how do we find him in this movie?
    Alone, in the dark, with nothing to do but wait for the Bat-signal.
    And he's much more violent, gleefully sending people on fire and blowing them up. But his escalation of violence almost costs him his life, and possibly costs Selina's.

In doing so, Batman finally faces the guilt that he has been harboring this entire time and comes out on the other side as a hero by choice rather than by obligation.

    Now that you been introduced to Christopher Walken(who played Max)
    You have to do King Of New York.
    Fun Fact:
    In the early stages of Batman Returns (1992) they were going to have Robin the script and Marlon Wayans was cast as Robin. But Tim Burton came in and felt their was no reason for Robin to be in the movie (because Tim wouldn't do Batman Returns unless he got free reign of control of the movie), then when Tim Burton was about to make a 3rd Batman movie (called Batman Continues then later changed to Batman Forever) Wayans was cast again as Robin and actually got in costume. But after the some-what negative reaction (from parents) of Batman Returns Tim left the project and Joel Schumacher later took over and apparently Wayans was paid a lot of money to not be in the movie after reading the new script. Though he never got to be Robin, their is concept art of what the costume could've been.

    Regarding the bit about the multiple microphones during a speech or press conference: that actually is very real (though for a movie that came out in 1992, the microphones visible have a very 1930s-1950s look, probably for aesthetics). Essentially, each microphone is grabbing the audio for a different news service or channel or station, since, especially back in the day, most of the equipment was analog, not digital, so there was no single repository for the recorded audio. If there’s only one mic, that means, most-likely, whoever organized the speech or press conference is feeding the audio out to the news themselves. But that’s relatively rare. Understandably, news agencies want to record their own audio, to avoid any potential chicanery. Not every source can be trusted, after all. You probably don’t see them as much anymore since mics have gotten a lot smaller and more-efficient. But look up a news conference from the early 2000s or earlier: you will see a veritable cornucopia of differently-colored mics in front of the speaker.

Thank you for this treat Tim . 😻meow

    Originally Max Schrek character was written as Harvey Dent and the original ending was when Catwoman was burning half of his face and that's why become Harvey Two Face snd set up for Batman Forever.

    Back in the early 90s, Six flags Astroworld in Houston had a coaster, Batman Escape, which was heavily themed after both Burton films. So much nostalgia.

    I don't mean to sound like an asshole, but I have to let you know "irony" doesn't mean the way you thought.
    It's only ironic if the opposite expected reaction happens.
    The times you said it was "ironic" that those happened, they were actually "coincidences".
    And I see many people use irony when the situation isn't, but it's actually coincidental.
    An example of irony is a fire truck catching fire. A police car being robbed. When someone tries to avoid something from happening, but that only helped it happen, it's dramatic irony.

    The actor and actress who play The Penguin’s parents in the first part of the movie are Paul Reubens and E.G. Daily. They had co-starred in the movie Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, also directed by Tim Burton.

    That scene where Cat Woman whips the manikin heads off was something Michelle Pfieffer trained for, and on the day they had to film the scene she did it in ONE TAKE. Even years later Michelle made a video of her using THE SAME WHIP at her home on some items for fun to show she still got it.

    Fun Fact: The name Max Schreck comes from the actor of Count Orloff in the 1922 vampire movie Nosferatu. Appropriate considering the Batman Returns Max Schreck's business is sucking energy from Gotham City.

    When the penguin said "But treated me like number 2" be means shit because it's known as number 2. Michael Keaton was the best Batman for me and one of the greatest actors in Hollywood because he's done a lot of different roles and genres. If someone does that then they're so good at what they do.

    Many of the penguins were real, requiring a refrigerated set, which in turn required them to build Gotham City indoors, which is why the city looks different than it did in the first one.

    I think Michelle Pfeiffer was perfectly cast for Catwoman. Debatabley the best cast choice for a comic book character.
    People love Ironman but it's actually Robert Downey Jr. being his sarcastic self they love. Watch him in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and you'll know what I mean.
    Tim Burton put the Goth in Gotham. Truly the best Batman movies in terms of looking for comic book-esque and animation brought to life. Specifically for DC. Let's face it: The Dark Knight was about Heath Ledgers Joker and Aaron Eckhart's Two Face. Nolan's "Batman" looked like total crap with his costume along with having Patrick Bateman as Bruce Wayne. This is all my opinion though. 🤙

    In the scene where Shrek discovers Celina looking through his files the shadows on her face with her glasses on show the old fashion cat woman mask
    Fear is a tool that all of Gotham's villains used to get the lackeys and henchman in line, it even works now… Depending on which comics or cartoons you watch.
    Then again, Batman uses that fear to so I guess it all depends on who the criminals fear most: the super villains of Gotham… Or the Batman? Oooooh now that's a good riddle
