I have one for years now.
I do not carry anything else anymore.
For me this is it, the best carry I ever had.
Do you have the factory wood grips on yours?
You are so correct I am the same way this is a. Fantastic gun
@@RattlesnakeDefense crimson trace laser grip is awesome. And just shoot 38+p lol!
Holster for it? I’ve got a gut so only carry pocket carry. And I carry everywhere! Loved the crimson trace laser grip for this but the best concealed grip is VZ boot grip.
I love mine.
Let’s talk facts.. This is the only grail revolver in the last 30
Years…. This is the best revolver out now
Throw 38 special in it
Thank you.
Common sense goes a long way 👍
You’re recoil sensitive. Your grip was also wrong and you were limp wristing instead of letting it transfer to your elbow fulcrum. But these are carry guns shoot little carry every day. It is light for the carry aspect. It is not a range toy.
Thanks for saving me the time.
My thoughts exactly.
It doesn't help thats he's a pussy too.
Also the gun is designed for close range use by swat
I can tell from first glance this aint no range gun
its a carry more shoot less type of deal and if i may say the best i've seen in a long time
If you think 327 is hurting to shoot, try jframe 340pd that weighs even less, it will set things in perspective.
Exactly
I threw some Hogue grips on mine, and shooting it is very mild.
The funny thing is he can get a set of hogue rubber grips for twenty bucks 😅
It’s ugly hard kicking and painful. I want one
I qualified for my ccp with it and carry it, but I see where your coming from. Was a free range day after I qualified. Shot about 100 rounds no gloves and tore the webbing of my hand. Changed grips and it’s a lot better now.
What kind of aftermarket grips did you put on it?
Use hogue decelerators used on smith 500
The recoil is odd on your view because the "honest outlaw" handled it pretty well.
After weeks of arguing with many of my peers, it is simply the shape of my hand vs the grip. My thumb is taking the recoil, not my palm like it should. I am not a very big guy and my thumb wraps around the back of the grip
@@RattlesnakeDefense have you tried the hogue grip? Don't give up on this. Hopefully you still have it.
I do, I wish video replies were still a thing. I have caught a lot of flack in the comments for this one...
@@RattlesnakeDefense all good. I wouldn't worry much about it man. Good on you for actually replying.
Agree. Make it a 3 inch barrel with S&W rubber grips. That’s a winning combination.
I love your take on this one! No bones about it, you don’t like it. I feel exactly the same way about this one. Sure it’s easy to carry if your pocket is big enough to jam an N frame in it, but God forbid you’d ever have to shoot it. Wood grips, scandium alloy frame, no barrel, who’s the genius who drew this one out on paper and who’s his boss who ok’d actually making it? Great video man!!!
They used to come with two grips. Presentation wood and decelerators. Looks like they kept the presentation due to the premium price.
Great to hear your honesty.
Thank you.
If I had one of these revolvers, I would carry it with some kind of wood or G10 boot grips, but loaded with 38 spl +P or some very mild . 357 magnum.
If I had the idea of trying some hot .357, I would use Pachmayer Diamond Pro grips on this gun.
Thanks for the honest review, BTW 👍
I have this gun and love it. Put shorter hogue wood grips. Shot regular 38 specials. Was easy. 357 wasn’t so bad. I plan to try wadcutters and low recoil. Anyone who say those are too weak is welcome to stand in front of target lol.
@@kbkesq
No way... Ahaha!!!
You lay on the line, right on
Damn and I was thinking about getting this
If you have big ish hands, get one. Also the grip makes a huge difference. I could have modified this gun to be much better, but I review them as they come out of the box.
I appreciate your honesty!👍 There is too much machismo in most gun reviews.
Thank you for your kind words
I feel your pain.
And
Thank You
😂 lol i laove the reaction. Honest and to the point. New Sub.
I HAVE ONE LOVE IT, CARRY IT EVERYDAY !!!
Its a great revolver. My friends with a little larger hands like it much more. It just hates my small panda paws
@@RattlesnakeDefense No. You should change the grips and use lower power ammo . The great thing about this revolver is you can use 38 or lower power 357.
Its not you . Its you trying to be beastmode and shoot full power 357 with wooden grips . This is not a range toy its a self defense weapon and you can train with 38 and occasionally shoot 357 .
IRL if you needed this to save your life if you have shot 357 before the adrenaline will absorb any issues with this hand cannon .
I think you tried to go full beast mode as we men tend to do and that was the mistake .
Use wimpy 38 special and slowly try a lower power 357 from time ti time and change the grips like TFB dd in their review .
Improve your grip. Pullups, pushups, forearm/grip strength training will help you handle recoil better.
The utility of it is putting into an attackers side and pulling the trigger. The wound channel will be humongous and mostly cauterized. That will dissuade most attackers.
Great vid bro
Take those junk Altimonts off and put them in the box for the next owner to learn the hard way. If you want wood grips, get Hogue, or an old set of Ahrends. They actually fit properly and help you absorb the recoil….. if not, just put rubber grips on it.
They did, once I took the wood ones off it was much better.
Finally an honest, ego free review. We look like the same size humanoids with similar sized paws and you were having issues. Were those rounds the lighter ones for a pug nose? Thanks for that review!
You are the first positive comment I think I have seen on this video, thank you for that. It was 158 grain shells, I wanted to test at full power, lighter shells might be a little less painful.
Exactly its not for the range .
It is for when the adrenaline is pumping and your life is in danger .
Yes, unpleasant, but may be needed in a pinch
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣you just changed my mind
i saw another dude shoot that gun with ease ,accurately and he held the gun upside down, and still hit target
We discovered it is my panda paw hands with that specific grip
😂great video thanks for your time@@RattlesnakeDefense
In self.defense case most likely you will be shooting double action.
Whish you did more of that.
I will take that into advisement moving forward
Bro shaking from a little bullet lol
ok, you need to shave that beard because you are not doing it the justice it deserves.. and then u finish it off with, "i broke a nail", really?
I have shot thousands of handguns. This was the second hardest kicking I have ever shot. That being said, it was the grip that made all the difference, but the gun was a loan and I didnt get a chance to do a follow up. As for the fingernail, I thought it was funny. Its a great revolver with rubber grips.
@Rattlesnake Defense lol, just busting ur balls some. I just saw this gun for the first time on TH-cam today. I think it's awesome and will buy one whenever I run across a good deal. I told my wife you should've said something manlier since having that epic beard like, " it ripped my nail off". And I agree, grips make the difference
Thats fair, just growl at it a little. I think the trolls have made me defensive. I hope you enjoy one. They are scarce.
Hilarious but harsh. It’s not a revolver for everyone. I’ve seen other YT reciewers try to review this with similar results. If I hear any of my friends talk about the Glock43 being too much for them due to recoil, I just laugh and think they have no idea.
@@mkendall8393 I'm on the lookout for one
Nancy
Had one shooting back too back your hand definitely starts too hurt especially rapid firing it
Put pachmyr diamond pro on it. Easy peasy.
Go shoot a 329PD
Then come back and tell me about recoil pain.
😅😅
You need to learn how to use a pistol
Your mom
This is the best revolver EVER MADE PEIROD..if u know u know
Why
@@benzmane7564 ..
so because of
The weight…
The bullet capacity
The feel
The performance center tunning
The fact it can hold moon clips
The hair pin trigger pull
The warranty etc
It s a reason it cost 2200 and I just have to shot it
Yes it’s that good
i don't think you gave this gun a chance. You should have tried mistly 38 special with an occasional 357 mag cartridge. You can train with 38 as lonsg as you also use 357 sparingly .
This gun fills a great niche. Its small enough to carry but also has great power and capacity . Its competitive with a semi automatic in my opinion .
I really don;t think going to the range and shooting 100 rounds of 357 mag is what this gun is for . Its a self defense weapon that has the reliability of a handgun .
reliability of a revolver
This is a high end Smith and Wesson, you don't need me to tell you that it is a quality revolver. My channel is just to show some the quirks of actually using many of these items at a range. If you need this for defense or something to save you life, then it is perfect. It is, however, very unpleasant to shoot in the caliber that it is chambered.
Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel Ammo is the Key. 357 Mag & 38spl +P
Get the crimson trace laser grips. The wood grips suck.
The stock grip isn’t too bad in my opinion, but I put one of the wooden boot grips on this thing and it caused my hand to spasm. Definitely kicking
Lol... I appreciate your honesty.
I've own the Ruger SP101 since early 90's. and it's heavier and still painful w/. 357.
FYI... I still want one (S&W 327).
Got soft hands brother soft hands
I have planned on this being my first gun to buy every when I move to a state in the South from the West Coast and this video helped me change my mind and set my sights to something that wouldn't turn me off to guns, I have shot a M1A and an M9 but that's it. I think I will just get a Walther 🤣
Love my M9s, Walther is a good choice.
Do you realize how many people own and shoot this gun? Maybe it’s a you-issue and the gun is fine?
Don't be a baby, if u practice a little you could do much better
If u broke a nail that's on you, learn how to hold a revolver
I'm half your size and shoot my model 327 just finr
This is for up close and personal. Ten feet. Six feet. Even for when physical contact has already been made and you have to jam it into his rib cage or belly. You'll have to burn your own clothes after using this one.
And it would work very well for that.
Oh it’s not that bad lmao
Lmaoooo
It's for concealed carry that's why it's light.
Why does it seem like your grip is wrong, and you’re even wearing gloves?
Thing sounds like thunder literally 😂
I think that gun is particularly good for home protections. It will destroy anyone and in an emergency you won’t feel the recoil.
This is true
You holding it wrong
😂🤣
Get rid of those stoopid gloves so you can grip it and it won't rotate back into your hands and face.
I did, the rubber grip is much easer, but my small panda paw hands just take too much of the recoil on the thumb and not the palm.
@RattlesnakeDefense yeah I have the Houge grips both open and closed around the frame and they work well on .357 magnum and .454 Casull. Gun won't rotate in your hands with those plush rubber grips.
Nice and light to carry. No fun to shoot at all. If I were to carry this would fire a cylinder every couple of weeks at a target no more than 7 yards away just to remain proficient. But thats it. Better choices for EDC even in 357. My Kimber K6S isn't too bad in terms of recoil. 6 rounds is enough, I think.
Gun is designed for close range use by swat, not long range target practice.
Is it a round or square butt? Did you sell it yet? I hope you've conquered it and kept it!
Seem to be..probably a somewhat prominent issue..or a physical feature..but i enjoy shooting my 44 Alaskan subie..with 300 grain bear loads..shot two boxes of 50..lol..alot of flash..only dislike is is 38+p in j frame..after a box of 50...odd..well i guess individually have different pain thresholds...Im 65 yrs old..built 747, and had my ass kick some..and i look like a clean shaved old man..grey haired if any..No disparities to your appearance you with long hair and beard..appearance as being a muscle man..and toughen as shown in vedio..well appearance can misjudged..pesonnel appearance is what the person whats to pretray.
The fact is that I have fired 45/70 derringers repeatedly, something that I will post soon. Something about this grip was biting into my thumb. I work with firearms every day, and have for 20 years, but this is the most painful pistol to shoot that I have experienced. I didn't record it, but the rubber grips that came with this revolver were much easier to control, still heavy on the recoil, but with out the trying to rip my thumb off.
Lol that's funny. My favorite gun to shoot is my 4" 500 s&w.
Put on the hogue 500 mag grips to practice, then carry the wood. Lol
I picked up one of the Cyclops 45/70 derringers for a video, it still hurts less than the grips on this gun.
bravo.Thenks
I understand where you are coming from in your critiques, however it is a concealable .357 option with 8 rounds. Sure it hurts your hands, but you could shoot .38 special if that helps boost your self-esteem. It is meant to be an over-priced carry gun, not necessarily a range toy. In a self defense shooting you won't even know the webbing is torn on your hand until well after the incident is over. I give the revolver a 6.8 out of 10 overall.
I agree with you. To save your life, it is a lot of firepower in a small package. Very difficult to review, however.
Thanks SOOO much for this. I almost purchased this but went instead with a Ruger Lcr chambered in 9mm. I was going to purchase this weapon with the intention of firing 38 special but just didnt want to pay $1,200 + for this. OUch. I felt your pain!!! Thanks again.
I am glad I can help, most people will not be honest about recoil. There is alot of ego in this industry.
@@RattlesnakeDefense Right on. I own two heavy Ruger .357 magnums with Pachmyer grips and they still sting. Here in California, I am not even allowed to shoot Magnum loads in the indoor range.
I will only speak to what I have seen. You can extrapolate from that what you wish.
But I have seen a 10 year old kid; average size kid, Shoot one handed an entire clip of 10mm rounds from a Glock 20 SF , dump the mag , reload , rack and change hands only to dump the next clip into his target.
After which he had a good size grin, both for the joy of shooting and because of the decent size grouping on the target.
Now I say all this because that kid did not complain about the recoil, and yes the Glock 20 is heavier and has a heavier slide than your average Glock.
Yet my point is this.
If a 10_year old can shoot those rounds one handed and not complain about any pain or stress to his wrist or arm.
Why is a grown man with a two handed grip on the revolver who appears to be well over 200 lbs whimpering about his wrists ?
And that weapon is designed for close encounter situations .
Seems pretty common sense to me, but to each his own.
First of all, there is no reason to be condescending. Second, the grips put the full force of the recoil on my thumb, and not my palm as it should. Third, I have shot the 45-70 derringers that hurt less than this one. It was a loaner, and after a change to the rubber grips, it was much easier to shoot. There are plenty of people who watch this video and jump in the comments and start talking crap. I have been running a gun store for 20 years, I have no need for your ego. I do this ten hours a day, five days a week and I can only report to what I honestly feel about a firearm. If you think I am wrong, the go buy one, load with full power 357 and make your own video.
No safety glasses ?
