That is the only way in which this matchup even makes a bit of sense. If Fabi doesn't need to move pieces he is just too strong for them even blindfolded and the matchup wouldn't have made any sense. I remember Vidit smoking Alex blindfolded playing on four different boards simultaneously and Vidit is not even as strong as Fabi. Only with this piece moving odd there was some very simmering hope for Botez sisters if they could have somehow managed to flag him.

So, Paul Morphy played blindfolded a lot, what I don't know if he moved the pieces himself or somebody just moved for him. Impressive what Fabiano can achieve

well, Fabiano is GM, you gotta respect that competence and hard work, while Levy is just an entertainer, so it's necessary to keep things fun and simple.

Caruana scored 8,5/10 in St Louis scoring elo tournament world record 3080! Karpov in Linares 1994 11/13 elo score 3040! Alekhine in San Remo 1930 elo score 3040! Fischer and Kasparov their best tournament scores only 2990! Fischer beat the weakest champion Spassky only 17 wins 11 losses! You can not lose 11 times against blunder maker Spassky! Capablanca would beat awful Spassky 8 wins 6 draws zero losses! Carlsen would beat Spassky 6 wins 6 draws zero losses! My old computer tought 5:22 minutes Capablanca-Reti game move and solved! Same computer tought only 4:37 minutes Kasparov-Kramnik game move and solved! The computer telling the truth Capablanca better than Kasparov!

I feel like the higher your elo, the less being blindfolded actually matters. A 1000 couldn't even make it to the middlegame, a 2000 could play a full game but at a diminished capacity, and a super-GM pretty much just plays like normal.
