The issue with this round isn't that Dina ran down the time in boxing, it's that the referee stepped in multiple times for prolonged periods without actually starting a count, or starting one very late. More than that, he actually started a fourth and supposedly final 8 count at the end of the final boxing round; he just dismissed it because he thought it was past the clock. Overalls, great match up between Dina and Botez, but questionable step ins by the ref.

It's actually fine in boxing. When the count continues into a break, it's up to the referee to judge if the fighter can recover.

Tbh I'm surprised how good she is at this her stamina and energy is amazing ,for a beginner she's brilliant tbh. Anyway according to boxing Rules Andrea should won tbh esp after the 3 stoppages the referee robbed her. But I'm proud of Dina she's chess grandmaster and did what she could at boxing. 12 seconds left in boxing round 3, he clearly steps in as Andrea is pushing forward when they weren’t grappling at all, separating them, giving Dina time to move run and recover for really no reason. Small mistake, but changed the entire outcome unfortunately.

People saying the count needed to be finished, for the first 2 counts definitely, but the 3rd count should have been automatic stoppage as it's the deciding TKO even if there was literally just a second or 2 left on the clock.
There are fights on TH-cam where the 3 knockdown rule is in effect and upon the 3rd, the fight is immediately called so given the precedents, I think Botez won. But it is what it is, they both did well and well done for stepping up.

This is being upvoted heavily but inaccurate. The traditional "3 knockdown rule" is pertaining to 3 knockdowns in a single round, with there commonly even being no limit to total number of knockdowns over the course of an entire match. It's easy to not know which way is up with regard to this event especially because there was a very casual approach to rule enforcement and the logistical procession of each match.

@@Terkiaz First of all, all major boxing entities say you cannot be saved by the bell, that it doesn't matter if the round ends, the count continues. Secondly, that doesn't even matter, the rule is 3 standing counts in a round and it's over. Not "3 standing counts to 5" or "3 standing counts to 8" As soon as the ref stops for a 3rd standing count it is over, whether he would have counted to 1 or a 100, it doesn't count, it's over the second he stops for a standing count.
