    Simeone Panda,
Am David from Africa. I have to say you are an inspiration to many down here in Africa.
We love your work, what you have achieved so far. Unfortunately, where I come from, our gyms are not equipped with fancy machines, but we train traditional lifts.
Anyway, we love your work and what you have done to inspire others...😊

I enjoyed your video! I do the dumbbell calf raises at home and superset with one legged standing calf raises on a stair or a large book (a PDF - physicians desk reference). I also completely agree with high frequency, roughly 5-7 days a week. To grow, though, I've noticed that rep ranges must be much higher than 12-15. Rather than 5 plates for 15 on seated calf raise, I've seen better results with 2 or 3 plates for 50 or 60 reps. Full contraction and pause for each rep. If the burn gets too intense, I'll break for 1 sec, shake out my calves and get back to it. The growth recently has been amazing and I've always had stagnant calf growth. I always enjoy your videos. Thanks for your perspective on training!

The fact that he trained calves for 5-6 years for 4-5 times per week, is scary because his calves arent that big, or at least it seems so on the video, im obsessed with calves,i wanna have massive calves, im training them 4 times per week, glad ive seen this video and i know now that im not overtraining them.. growing process on calves is so slow when you dont habe them genetics.. persistence is key..

This is coming from a guy with 22 inch calves.
Yes I have some pretty good genetics. I started out with 15s and it took me 5 whole years non stop never a day of rest for them. The most they got was 3 sets of a 100 before bed that's the rest they got.

In hs, the best football players had really great calves. These were the guys that pushed limits in practice and games with pads on. I think of calves in that they have to burn, burn a lot, burn for extended periods. Think like a football rb running with pads on, calves burning, on fire, and over tge course of training camp, they end up with really great calves. You gotta push through the burn and do it 3 times a week with lots of drop sets. But also, you need to eat good. Your calves directly reflect how good you're eating. If you eat 2 measely meals, your calves arent gonna pop. If you eat a good quality couple days worth of good quality meals, your calves will have extra pop to them.

  • @brucedubby6449

This was a great video, because youre right not alot of people talk about it. But it needs to be said, especially about it it being genetics and about brothers having skinny legs. Because it is so frustrating, i work my calves sooo dam hard and they are growing a little but dam. I barely work my upper body and it grows like weeds. Like what the hell is this shit. I also had one of my homies give up cuz he said it was just genetics. but like bro, you cant be walking around them skinny ass legs like that. And another thing that is sooo true is about being consistent, cuz ill be at it for like 6 months straight, calves will start lookin right, if i take any kind of break them thangs is going a 100 to a 0 nigga real quick. Props on the vid. Any one reading this, keeping grinding.

Large Calves are genetic, you either have them or you don't. You can train them all you want but they are not going to magically appear. Sim has trained them for years and still has thin calves because that's his body build and genetics. I didn't see Sim give this advice or practice this in his routine, when training calves you have to do Maximum flexion. Stand on some stairs on your toes, drop your heals an allow your body weight to give you the maximum flex. Do as many raises as possible to max contraction and you will improve greatly.

great video, calves are really tough because theyre so slow twitch and require a lot of work and they definitely grow slower than every other muscle especially for us leaner types. simeon is right though, they do grow with hard work and consistency. after increasing the amount of sets dedicated to calves (supersets are great too) ive seen some good gains the last few months. dont listen to the people who tell you that calf isolation workouts are pointless and that calves are 100% genetic, hit em hard and hit em often and they will grow slowly but surely!

The reason "black" ppl have small calves is because we're built for speed, and quickness.
Not all of us have small calves, because a lot of us are built for speed, and power as well.
    It's in our genetics!

@@iraqiboysyed Wtf?? Lololol. It's literally high insertions (look at black athletes) vs low insertions (look at Asians who don't train and have big calves). Don't bring race into it when race plays a big role in genetics. Now becoming a great person and trying to be successful aren't based solely on race tho.

I always had thin calves and always envied guys with big calves. Just before xmas I started training them as hard as other muscle groups twice a week on a standing calf machine with 80kg, 4 sets, 15 reps with 5sec pause every 5th rep followed by super set without machine. 2 months later im now at 180kg on the machine and feel extremely nimble when running or just walking around normally, also now im the one geting complimented on the vascularity and definition of my calves👍.
