Thanks for the video!!! If anyone still has an issue after cleaning the filter (like I did) then try taking a coat hanger and gently pushing it up the hose that leads to the filter. Have your bucket in place, a bunch of water may come out when you dislodge whatever was blocking the hose.
This was such a big help. Thank you! So clearly and concisely explained. The hold time with Samsung tech support was 1 hour 45 mins. I was able to watch your video and fix in 10 minutes. Thanks again!
I didn’t either. After this happened I was like there literally is a sticker on the front of the machine that says to clean it every 3 months. I was like damm if it were a snake it would have bit me.
Thanks for the video. I've been encountering the exact same issue for a week off and on. Just pulled the filter and as you stated, never saw the label requesting it be cleaned...so it had 3 years of hair and dirt in it. Seriously was the most putrid smell I've ever encountered. Just ran a cycle and now it's working as normal.
Thank you so much for this. Fixing my machine right now. Advice for those of us that have the machine on the floor, so draining into a bucket isn't possible. The small hose fits inside a lawn hose. You can insert it and run the lawn hose outside into the grass. Thanks again.
I did this to my washer and drained the water out and cleaned the filter and it was even more filthy than the filter in the video and the washer works perfect now, thanks for the video!!!
Thank you so much!!! I live in a rural area, and it would have cost me double to have a guy come fix this, and at first when I saw that computer generated error message I assumed this would be something way to complicated for a middle aged lady artist to fix for herself. But then I got to thinking that I should look on TH-cam first, in case some wonderful person like you have posted a video that I can understand, and BINGO!!! Sure enough, that filter was crammed full of wet lint and pet hair from my long-haired cat. He's a Siberian Forest Cat, and his coat makes other long haired animals look practically bald nekkid. Because of the pet hair, it came out in one well organized lump, but I went ahead and scrubbed the filter with a brush anyway just to make it shine. I did one thing differently from you, which is that I ran the "spin only" cycle to try to empty the washer, and it got out most of the water, and I only had to drain about 1 quart into my bucket. Seriously, thank you so much for your amazingly helpful video, and the money that it saved me. I put a sticky note on that little door to remind me when I cleaned that filter, and I put a reminder on the calendar on my computer too, to clean that filter again in 2 months. Wow, you really made my day!
Thank you for posting this video. I got our washer going again and avoided having to call the plumber. This washer was left by the former occupants of our home and we didn't realize you need to clean the filter every month or two. Our filter was filthy - had a couple really small socks in it along with all kinds of other grimy stuff.
I hadn't cleaned the filter for years, hence I needed a pliers to open it, and it was full of crap. So thank you so so much for your educational video.
Thanks so much! Just moved to a rental with this washer/dryer and could not figure out this error! Unfortunately ours is on the floor, so it’s a little hard to drain, but eventually got it all cleared out and fix the problem!
It worked! Thank you for sharing 😀 Our washer is on the floor so we slid a cookie sheet under and hoped there wasn't a lot of water! There wasn't.. but did find coins and other debris in the filter. Cleaned it out and popped it back in. Washer picked right back up where it left off!
i want to thnk google, youtube, this video and everything else behind that directly or indirectly contributed for me to get here and fix my 5E problem. THANK YOU 😬😬😬😬
So I definitely should have watched the whole video before I just removed the filter apparatus... at least it was mostly drained? But thanks for the great video. Now I just have to remember to clean the strainer. I actually did once, about 3 months after I moved in. But there wasn’t anything there really, so I filed that task under “unimportant” and ignored it for 2 more years. Whoops.
Crazy…. I was going to do that and just needed to wrap my mind around who to call incase this was not the problem 😔…. It was the solution… thank you very much 🙏
I almost gave this a negative post. I followed these steps and the filter was full to the brim with two baby socks and 'junk'. Filthy. But I had the same issue as the 5E error was still there. I did these steps again and looked back to find out that there was yet another baby sock (I have a 10 month old here) jamming it up way in the back. It took about 10 minutes to find the right tool to fiddle with it but now I don't receive the error. So persistence wins the game when it's a big mess.
@@DIYReid only problem is that when I did my next load of clothes and the cycle was complete but it was water everywhere on the floor, so is that just a one time thing?
Omg thank you it worked for us too!!!!!!!!!! And our washer is also on the floor 😩😩 and I had to use my favorite glass backing dish good thing there wasn’t a lot of water.. but that dish definitely is going into the trash 😂 thanks again!!!
Thank you so much!! I saw the error and looked it up online and with your help I was able to fix it!! I seriously thought my girls broke it due to overloading it!! So glad I didn’t go out and buy another one!! Thanks a million!! 😊
Hi Reid, I did as you suggested after getting the error, but now the machine just won't go into any cycle (Normal, Spin Only, etc.). It allows me to start one, but just makes the lock sound and maybe one other before it just stays idle and doesn't actually start the cycle. After draining/cleaning once it let me run a rinse and spin with clothes in there, but it went 3 minutes into spin and just stalled out (no error, just stuck on 7 mins) with all of the water still in. Drained it again and now am where I mentioned before, won't actually start any cycle. Any suggestions?
Any knowledge/experience with an AC6 error code?? Says check the pba communication status? I’m clueless lol. Any help is greatly appreciated! I have the same washer as you
@tonyponikvar8103 id remove the back two screws on top and the whole top will slide backwards. See if you can see the leak. On this unit there is a small hose that connects to a sensor but that’s about it on the top right. That water could be coming from somewhere else too
Tried to yell down to my man that i found a video how to fix it, and he had already figured it out lol. Thank you men! I miss old washing machines😢
You’re welcome.

Thanks for the idea of connecting to a hose - this is currently helping me drain!
Thanks so much! Found two pens, blow pop wrapper, lots of hair and a $10 bill. 1st cleaning since installed 3 years ago.
$10 bill is mine for the advice. 😀
And you got paid!
Wow!!!! This actually worked!! Im home with no man around at that moment and needing to finish my laundry 😩😩😩😩

Two baby mittens and a baby washcloth.... thanks for your help haha
Now that’s kind of funny.
Is what came out of my filter- I meant to say
@@DIYReid I know! Thanks for your video
Thank you! Any idea why the washer has a small leak drip every 10 seconds.. think time to check it after 7 years and get a whirlpool USA
Where is leaking?
I am uncertain for sure. But right front leg. Underneath. 2 inches left and one inch towards the front from the leg.
Do you think I should consider a new seal?
In the front tto
