I watched another video before this one where the guy took the top and front of the machine off to get to the drain pump. He seemed to be an experienced repairer but unless I’m missing something he was really overcomplicating the whole process to the point I was wary of doing it myself. After watching this video it seems much more straight forward so I guess I have a job to do tomorrow.
EDIT: I commented on that other video and he said you risk water getting into the electronics panel if you lay the machine down. He said he has 38yrs experience and that he did it the way “GOOD engineers” do it.

@@420jsimon no, I left a comment on his video asking if there was a reason and he said there was a risk of water getting into the control panel if you lay it on its side. He then said that's how all “GOOD engeneers” do it. I have seen other videos where they do it that way but I felt I was more likely to damage the machine by doing it his way and went in through the bottom to get to my drain pump. I did leave the machine propped up at a slight angle though. It would seem that his concerns are based on something unlikely and that a slight angle should account for it but I’m not an expert… fixed my machine, recalibrated it and its working fine… for now.

We're about about to try this ourselves, like yourself we've watched several other tutorials and this was by far the easiest to follow.

@@driftfitness I ended up resting my machine at a very slight angle just in case there was somehow water that could get into the control panel. Taking out the pumps and putting it all back together wasn’t that hard. In the end I gave everything a bit of a clean, swapped the two pumps around, put it back together and it works. I will try to give it more regular drum cleans as other people in my household don’t take proper care with detergents, their dosage, emptying pockets etc.

You are a gem. My Samsung just started making really loud pneumatic drill sounds after 3 years and after getting no solution from Samsung (other than contact details for a service call - Guarantee has run out of course), I took a closer look. The draining pump is the culprit. It is rotating but making a lot of noise and the program won't start as a result. I'm hoping its just clogged (not visibly from the front unfortunately). If not I'll need to get an address for spare parts in Germany. Looks like I have exactly the same model,(Ww70j5435fx Eg )which is great. Thank you so much.

It's even better, just gave the pump a few twists with a screwdriver from the front forcing the rotation and now it's all working again. Soooooo happy LOL

Thank you for the video! Saved my day! In my case piece of gravel somehow bypassed filter and stuck in the drain pump halting it's operation. After removing it everything works again.

Thank you! Didn't need to change the drain pump but our washing machine just randomly stopped draining and wouldn't work.
Turns out there was a big hard bit of lint collected in the drain pump stopping it from working.
Took a couple of hours and a lot of blue air but this fixed it. Clear and easy to follow instructions!

    Many thanks for posting this.
Our Washer recently stopped Draining, turned out to be a small piece of straw or similar stopping the Impeller from Rotating.
Cleaned it out, all good now.
I was thinking it might be the PCB at fault . . . £££

I could have done it without the video to be honest, I've repaired a few Machines in the last few decades, but it's always helpful to have a 'heads-up' of the layout, and the little details.
      Thanks again.

During a cycle, are the drain pump and the circulation pump supposed to be activated at the same time? When running a rinse and spin cycle (without water being connected) I see that one of them doesn't spin. I assume both are supposed to work in tandem cycle and drain...

    Hello @eSpares,
could you please help me with the value of the resistance of a good working pump DC97-15696J (coil DC31-30008D) on Samsung Eco Bubble.
The machine code is Samsung Crystal Blue WW90H7410EW/LE, 9 kg, 1400 RPM, Clasa A++
I measure a value of 175 ohms with the multimeter. This value is in according with a good working pump ?

Hi this is a great video but you don’t make it clear which colour connector goes where when connecting the circulation pump. There are 2 wires and th3 quality of the video is not enough to clarify this. Shame as I’m almost home!
