Apologies in that I cannot cite my source, but I remember seeing a video when initially researching bokashi, and whilst one would normally dilute 100 to 1 for outdoor plants, the ratio for houseplants is 200 to 1. Used bokashi for 6 months now, I throw into a compost bin post fermentation, works well, and I have literally not thrown any food out to the council rubbish services during that period. I like that it can deal with meat and citrus
Diluting for application and/or adding the leachate directly to the compost are good suggestions. I'll pin this for discussion in case others have suggestions of their own!
@@modernfreedom1651 I am new to gardening, and I need to be more diligent in noting sources. Recently moved out from my mum, need to get those bokashi bins back.
I may be wrong with the numbers, please do not shoot me down if I am. This is my first year of a glass greenhouse, very happy I have turned a Lidl basil plant into 23 healthy potted basil plants for example, after viewing other people's TH-cam videos. When I am confident enough to expose myself to failure (next year I think), will contribute to the YT gardening community
Please make a video on how we can use our native bacterias as bokashi composting! I would love to introduce these ideas into other gardens and also our schools garden as an effective way to save money.
It is a car wash screen. I don't know if this is the exact one, but it looks close. Search for: "Car Wash Bucket Insert Dirt Guard Insert Fits 12 Inch"
You say that you don't use it for your plants due to the ph problem maybe ph it t a 5.5 up to 6.5 then spray it on the leafs seriously 100% might be great for your plants heck it's truly the same way as you feed my plants I have to ph all the time heck u never just mix up and feed

@@gordonanderson698 did u start you youtube for gardening?
I have watched several videos on bokashi and this was easily the most informative on the day to day "operation" of a bin. Thanks!
i really appreciate you making these videos by the way, truly.

You can use bokashi in your septic tanks to breakdown your poop and paper so you can go longer between calling the pump truck to empty your tank
Thanks for the suggestion!
Your videos are very well done and helpful. Thank you!
Thanks for watching, Kevin.
i would love to know the name of the blue screen you are using at the bottom of the bucket
