The boys will love the science twist to the composting. Cant wait to show them
I'll give it a whirl and let you know how it goes might be a couple days 👍
Try to make a su bioreactor much easier
Great video David. Fun, educational and love your enthusiasm for putting your soul into your soil. Here is my $10.00 contribution.
So what did you end up doing in the ‘special’ grow round?
My wife was from Australia (I'm from Switzerland). Unfortunately she died last year of cancer at 36. We were about to move to Australia and wanted to live a simpler life: tiny house, gardening, more time for each other, family and friends.
I'm sad she never got to see your channel, she would have absolutely loved it.
I've been watching your videos for a couple of days and they're just so peaceful, relaxing, informative and nice.
I've never thought a video about compost could make me cry... but here I am. They're happy tears though. I'm a positive person and I'm crying and smiling at the same time, because it's snowing outside, I'm drinking a tea and I know that would have been the kind of cozy day Laura and I would have spent together here at home with our dogs.
Thanks for these videos mate, keep up the good work. It makes people happy ❤.
I’m sorry for your loss. 35 is still so very young but I’m sure you made her time on earth much more enjoyable and she must have been cherished. I hope you have a great day and keep on with your positivity
Thanks for sharing your story Marco 🙏🏻
Wonderful. Thank you for inviting us into your wonderful world. It is wonderful watching a hard working person enjoy his work. You summed it up at the end "you can't explain it...". No, not to the none 'weedy'. Greetings and gratitude from Uganda.
Marco, I was very moved by your comment and I am So very sorry to hear you lost your wife. To hear that you both were seeking a simpler, quieter life really resonates with me. My husband & I are much older, (still Young in spirit & heart tho’); we live in South Florida in the US. We live a pretty simple, slow based life with our 4 lovely companions / our precious dogs- who are Family. I have been rather devoted to composting , fruit tree gardening and doing raised bed gardening in our lovely sub-tropical climate for the past several years. I urge you to continue with your dream toward gardening & living peacefully, simply and with a purposeful life including respect for our planet and all its creatures. If the masses would only pay attention to sustainability- too much emphasis on greed & $$$. Best wishes to you; don’t give up on your dream.
You’re a beautiful man @marcolregina. God bless you Bholenath 🔱🌎
In a world of lunacy, a video on composting brings me back to reality and what is important in life!
Word
Indeed. Agree with your statement 110%
Yeah
Anyone else notice the small details he puts into the videos like the extra swooping sounds of a bird flying by or a popping sound when he drops something onto the microscope slide. He really cares about what he does and it makes watching this so engaging.
So great that you notice these moments 🤗 Cheers Heather (Mrs Weedy) 💚
Lol I came to the comments section for this. I thought I was just high 😂
As soon as I saw this guy look at his compost through a microscope I knew I was going to be a subscriber... You're a different breed mate!
Have been waiting for you to make an episode on the most important subject in self sufficiency gardening. And boy, you did not disappoint!
A truly wonderful, educative and wholesome episode, where you explain the compost making in simple terms, without dumbing down the process. I truly hope this film becomes one on the most viewed finds on home compost making.
Absolutely
You are my kind of garden wizard - perfect combination of science + experiment + experience + get your hands dirty. Good man.
I just found him and I'm Thrilled. He will be my only go to...cuz I'm all over youtube watching so many videos and getting nothing done 🙂
and beard
BEST GARDENING CHANNEL BY A MILLE. THANKS MR WEEDY
😂you just can't make this content up🎉 awesome information again Weedy thanks a ton.
Yep best channel by 2.5km I think that’s a mile
You feel like bob ross
How good it is to see people teaching this composting process at a time when both the planet needs us to change our habits, and we need to learn how to produce at least part of our food in a healthier way, without pesticides. I hope many people learn from this video and understand the importance of this. Congratulations on sharing this information. Have a great week!
Thank YOU 🫵🏻👍🙏🏻
Years ago my father always had a pipe with holes in it. Jammed into center of compost. He said it’s the help it breath. That compost was like a fire
I am of high net worth yet I envy this man’s lifestyle. He has it all figured out. I need to re- evaluate my life.
You have a unique opportunity
I love TH-cam. Always discovering something new to me. I’ve been watching and following many different gardening channels. I’m glad I found yours. You make it very interesting and informative, and seeing things from under a microscope is nothing I see anywhere else. Definitely subscribed!
My Creator is Awesome.
HE has made everything out of Nothing. This is a perfect example. Thanks!! 😊
70°C and free fertilizer 😍😍😍
Thats Free energy and food at one go ladies and gentlemen, its high time we start to feel great for yhe nature 💚💚💚
Wow! This is the first video I’ve watched of yours. It is truly like a documentary. Most vloggers will not take the time to diligently and painstakingly film a process over a period of weeks. Your editing and creative style is very interesting.
Nothing quite like the smell of fresh finished compost. Very much smells of an earthen forest floor.
Cheers!
Aced making learning fun. You would make a great teacher. Cheers on a great episode !!
How in the world, as many gardening channels as I watch, have I managed to miss this guy? I am totally in love lol. Let's see... long-hair runs around barefoot like I do all the time chases mice around and makes beautiful compost. Loves the smell of Rich soil... And an Australian accent to boot. What's not to love? I just wish you could come help me with this mess I call a homestead in Missouri. Too many rocks, too much clay, no rain etc. But I'm trying. Thank you!! I needed this. Going to plant cover crops if it ever rains, then in late winter I'll cut it down, cover with my compost, tarp and let it sit till I plant it. I winter sow, so I have time to let it rest before things have to go out in the garden. I am using turkey, chicken, quail, duck, and rabbit manure, as well as grass clippings and leaves and plants that I've cut out of the garden from this last season excetera.
Hi my friend 😊how are you doing ❤
David is a real genius. Don’t forget the artistic flair, the magical video editing, the soothing voice and calm atmosphere he creates the beautiful attitude and ethos and the wisdom he imparts in the process. We are all blessed. Thank you ‘Weedy’
Good stuff! Wish more people would watch educational things like this, instead of sports and celebrities. In the world would be a better place.
Your energy is amazing! I'm much lazier and only turn my pile once: I do that every fall and start a new pile next door. So I only get one bin per year but that's enough for my smaller garden. It doesn't get hot enough to kill seed (body temp is max) but we have a city compost program for the seedy garden debris so it doesn't go to waste. As always, amazing camera work David!
Amazing to see the heat temperatures you were getting out of a small pile, must be down to the high bacteria content! Brilliant stuff Weedy.
It's a miracle Weedy....fantastic. Thank you.
That compost is GORGEOUS!!!! Love your technique!!🎯🙏
Thanks so much!
the music the atmosphere the topic
astonishing !!! 😍😍😍😍
I started to lean in for a sniff at the final compost ;D
One of the best channels on TH-cam.
Thank you for all the effort Weedy ❤
The end product looked superb.
Amazing! ❤ Love your video's. I always get so much out of them 😊🌱
FYI: my routine is to watch once for entertainment and well-being (I am always smiling by the end) and then watch again with a note pad and pen 😁
Now I just need to go find my pen 🖋 🤣
I'm working on the ambulance, and we had a moment, so I watched this, and I can literally smell Compost now. Great video!! It makes me wanna get out of work and work on my Compost for the garden!
Never thought composting could be so interesting. Loved the microscope aspect. Very cool. Thank you for sharing.
Is there nothing you can’t do. Garden, photography and now citizen scientist. You go brother.
That bird😂!! many of my problems you've solved and curiosities fed in this video. Thank you..man you are awesome!! compost power!
That was fascinating thank you Weedy!! You are definitely a very interesting man and I love your curiosity that helps to extend ours!!
That was beautiful to watch. Thank you! Have a wonderful week ❤
Awesome as always and super helpful!!! Thanks mate
I so enjoyed watching this! I'm new to composting. I live in the city and just bought a turning compost bin - it's small, but I think it's a good start. Loved hearing your voice, watching along as you looked through the microscope and learning about the process. Wish me luck as I incorporate some of your practices into my own routines! You've got a new follower now (Julie, So. Calif)
Hi Julie where are you from😊
That was fascinating to watch and very educational. Thank you.
Nailed it !
Neat, comprehensive with those magnificent images once again.
Thank you !
👏
Awwwwwww so so lovely - thank you. 'Enjoy your lives. Its important.' Big hugs n smiles Weedy Philosopher.
Enthralling, captivating, evocative, educative...what more can one say! Gratitude Mr Weedy; a truly spectacular video and so informative. Your film making gifts are sublime; not to mention your permie talents!
❤
Been watching since the start even joined Geoff Lawton course because of you.. Your our generations Geoff Hamilton 💪🏼💚👍🏼🌱
This is exactly why I want to garden. You are not just making compost to grow food in it and being practical. You are actually playing with life and loving the process. We are like little Gods on Earth and so many choose to watch TV rather than experiment and play in this way. Lovely video!
Lol. You are watching atm 🤣🤣🤣🫵🏻
Thank you Weedy, loved this one!
It's amazing how much a pile breaks down. The bay went from being almost full to a little more than half full. I can't wait to see what you grow in that garden bed. I hope you have a wonderful day.
Such a blessing! I found your amazing channel. Black Gold is necessary for everyone.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING ALL OF THAT!!
Spectacular Mr Weedy. Thanks for being inquisitive and for educating us ❤
Yassssss!!! I've been really looking forward to this content 😊😊😊 thanks Weedy

So much fodder in this one both for the garden and for the creative mind. Thanks so much. Happy sprouting! Looking forward to your reveals!
This is a great way for composting, thank you.
Very educational, love the graphics 👌🏿 thank you for sharing your experience.
Weedy, I thoroughly enjoyed this video lesson on composting. I’ve been gardening and composting for 50 years and I do things slower these days. My compost pile is 1 1/2 meters square. I’m not very careful about green and brown although I make sure both are there. It only gets turned when I dig a hole in it to bury a bucket of kitchen scraps, and once a year in fall after the main garden is done for the season I dress each bed with a little rabbit manure, an inch or so of compost and a couple inches of leaves that were somewhat shredded when I got them up with my lawnmower. I just let it rest till spring planting and the soil is beautiful. I guess its a combination of bin composting and sheet composting. It’s fairly easy, and slow, but nature is slow and steady. Thanks again, you videos are fascinating.
slow and steady is perfect
You can afford to go slow when you have such distinct seasons. If you are waiting for it to warm up you might as well be waiting for compost to decompose too. I’m in the subtropics so can use my garden beds all throughout the year. Actually I’m just starting out again at a new place and have only just started a little bit of planting. There is lots of planning and construction going on. I have started composting so I can fill my new beds eventually.
I like David’s system for churning out lots of compost. I live on an island. I can get plenty of greens. Browns are more challenging.
Blessings Mr Weedy 💚🙏
Really great!! I shall try this!!! Thank you ❤
I find your videos are fascinating to watch and enjoy the content and education from them 😊 thank you

Thank you for being a great inspiration and I finally starting a gardening channel. My compost is looking much better after taking on your recommendations. Love from California.
Great editing, great content and great natural delivery - thanks for sharing
The content and its presentation were top notch! Thank you for sharing.
by far the best video. I love it when you go deep and show stuff and try to explain it through science. Its not like a science class but just a guy learning stuff his way. Love the content. Thanks.
I always learn new things from you.
What a beautiful film and nice set up!
That was fantastic! Thank you for doing all the work of making this - much appreciated.

A super good analysis of compost making. Everything explained. Fantastic!!!
I LOVED this video! Have been teaching my teenager to compost with materials from our suburban yard, neighborhood, and community and am really excited to watch this together. He’s going to enjoy tapping into your enthusiasm and resourcefulness. What an incredible service you have provided to curious minds! Thank you!!!
AMAZING ! you and the compost!!
thank you for sharing this. I've seen fast compost videos, but this is the first one that has "geeked out" with the microscope and camera!
Great video! Thank you for your knowledge. All the best with you channel 🙏
Thank you!! I’ve watched many composting videos yet none of them explained the temperature/ bacteria/ oxygen components in a way that I understood, but you did! Thank you!

Great stuff!! Showed the bliss of composting beautifully. Diversity of ingredients really makes it an art form. The LAB is such an awesome addition. Some woodchip in there as well and I reckon you’re as close as you can get to the perfect range of ingredients. Thank you again for what you do :)
