Goose accelerates out of a tack nicely! Too bad about the smelly seaweed. Hopefully they'll dredge the channel and get a proper exchange of water again.
Hi, Teo, and thanks for another great video! Regarding the trolley, many people here in Brazil use discarded tires from small, single-engined planes, or from small toy motorcycles. They are fat and will surely help in the sand.
A great boat and a great place to sail. Ideal for anyone with children who are learning to sail and maybe even more so for children who want to be more adventurous.
The best advertising for Mik's Goose i have watched. Makes me want to build one. Loving your sailing "grounds" That lagoon and surrounds are to die for.
Impressive! you have it all worked out and boy! does she get along!! probably could carry more sail too. Good wide beam and quite seaworthy. Good skills!😊
Nice, I just have sailed four days on GIS and got couple of reasons why you switched to Goose. Looking forward for your explanation and if it worked the way you expected.
Great result! I can't figure out if this hull is planing or not? The bottom of the planing hull should be flat and without bending upwards in the stern.
Fabulous Teo 😃. That is a superb place to sail 😎, despite the weed mud and pong 👌. The goose is definitely a winner despite being a bit of an ugly duckling 🙏. Im very impressed with your roof rack/unloading system 😎. Is that a commercially available one or is it something you have made especially 🤔.
Fora de água tem um aspecto desajeitado, mas revela-se super eficiente em termos de portabilidade e navegabilidade. Talvez umas rodas pneumáticas mais largas ajudem na areia. Foi a escolha certa. Abraço e divirtam-se
excellent video , seems like a very stable boat very little heal ,dont know what your wind speed was , i reckon a bigger sail area for more advanced sailors like yourself ,would make it even more fun boat could handle it for sure
I enjoyed it a lot Teo. Question for you: is that beside the seaside resort of the same name on the Algarve? I remember many decades ago being there near Faro I think. There was a hotel called Sol e Mar. is that the same place (or just inland from it)?
No. The Albufeira resort/city, is in Algarve. This lagoon, with the same name, is near to Lisboa, about 45 min by car. In portuguese, "albufeira" has the meanings: 1. Shallow depression, covered with water, that communicates with the sea when the tide comes in. 2. Artificial lake created by a dam.
@@TheBoatRambler I could have looked at a map, couldn’t I? Haha. Anyway I thought I’d ask. Brought back some great memories. And I’m loving the boat. While my needs have changed, I’m also still keen to see what you end up doing with the boat to accommodate camping overnight. Btw what does your wife think about it? Does she find it more stable? It certainly looks that way in the video - and fast acceleration.
halfway through the video I DO show a map of the lagoons location! 😁 My wife prefers the Kingfisher 30 where she can just lie down on the bow deck's comfy cushions and get sun till almost melting point! 😂 The Goose stability is like nothing I ever tried and being light it does accelerate very fast, if it had a little bit less rocker it could be just a tad faster to plane...maybe.
@@TheBoatRambler At Linda’s direction I had to create an almost normal double bed in the aft cabin of our boat (not that I minded one bit. We both spent way too much time in the sun as kids, and we are both essentially Anglo stock and that pale skin so loves to attract skin cancer, so we are avoiding, not seeking the sun’s rays. The Goose is a wonderful boat. And you are an excellent ambassador for the design. To look at it you would not think it could sail at all. So boxy. But it does and does easily.
@@TheBoatRambler O seu barco parece uma caixa com vela, mas funciona muito bem. Boa sorte! Eu copiei de ti a vela do lugger e levei-a para o meu barco. Obrigado pelo exemplo.

I hope your videos make more lovers of sailing aware of this boat and your car rack design. I am a very happy subscriber.
I hope so too! 😁
Super! Your videos are now simply professional! Great achievement Teo!
Thanks Enrico! 😃
Looks like a fabulous ̶b̶o̶x̶ boat for such tricky conditions, big enough for crew, small enough to be carried & launched.
It's a game changer!! 😉
A great sailer…..and that lagoon is quite something!
Excellent, Teo, great to see the project put to use just as you'd planned!
all good so far! 😁
It was wonderful to watch. Thanks.
Thanks for watching.
Great work on the boat and the roof loading solution. May you have many pleasant adventures.
Thank you!
back to adventure time, YAY !!!
( I would just purchase a telescopic tiller extension and get back adventure, you're time is worth something )
Great idea! 😉
Such a lovely day. Thank you for taking us with you. Wonderful camera/editing work, much appreciated.
Many thanks! Sean
Excellent!
Many thanks!
Beautiful 😁❤
Thank you! 😊

Plastic wheel barrow wheels cheap, light and easy to come by.
thanks guys!

Or adults who want to play at being children!
I used to come here many times when I had a windsurf board here in the club, 30 years ago!
Agora sim acertas te no bote :) aproveita
Tens de dar uma voltinha! 😁
a great accomplishment finished
Looks like a great day and a great sail!
Inspiring.... this is a boat for me.... now to just do the hard work of retiring and moving closer to water and building one :) ty
You wont regret it! 😉
cool boat
Que local incrível! Que imagens espetaculares! Que barco rápido! Que vídeo! 🤩😎
obrigado Felipe!
Perfect day Teo, really starting to take to the goose, ripper little boat, bet the pint went down well, cheers 🍻
Oh yeah! 😁
Linda velejada🏝
obrigado
Nice boat! I’ve also built a GIS and an OzGoose and just loved the stability of the goose as well as Mik’s ultra-simplified rigging for it.
Nice one! 😉
I enjoyed the video very much thanks
Glad to hear it!

Hi Max,
yes I believe she could have the same sail as the GIS around 10sqm. maybe one day...😉
Very smooth flow off the back of the boat. Nice job.
Great boat, great sailing.
Thanks
What a great day!!
Yes it was Marcus 😁
Great vids and content keep them coming!
Thanks!
Wonderful!!
I have been following your whole series. on the OZ Goose. I bet the Michael Storer has been receiving's lots of orders for plans.
Makes me think about building one as practice for a Scamp.
Has your Goat Island been receiving any love?
My Goat is well loved ! 😉
@@TheBoatRambler That is great to hear. ♥
Great dinghy!
Looking good. Keep the videos coming!
Thanks! Will do!

At around 6-7 kts you get the feeling of planning...but at higher speeds I had it planning alright! th-cam.com/video/vku9563nT6o/w-d-xo.html

Hi Dave,
the loader was made by myself, specifically for my roof bars.
sso good 👍

I thought of a bigger sail too, but for now this one will do nicely! 😁😁
I've never seen a sailboat on plane before.
It was kind of planning here but if you want to see it in full plane... 😉 th-cam.com/video/vku9563nT6o/w-d-xo.html

Hey buddy, as Alex said, it's not the same place/region.

Olá capitão! Parece que o barco pode ser conduzido em modo planador. Qual é a velocidade?
O barco começa a planar por volta dos 7kn, o maximo que eu consegui até agora foi por volta dos 12 kn mas há registos de cerca de 16kn.

How much do you pay to have a deck hand??? Love the fish eye "drone" effect... very cool video effects Teo... you're getting better!!!
Thanks! 😉
Converting an old Jon boat, pretty much the same shape and size as the OZ Goose, into a "OZ Canada Goose" sail boat. Guess I should make a video.
