Final project comes much later. This is showing 'hammer forging process" of large pieces. It adds extreme strength to the metal as it compressed the molecules of near molten metal. Any other processes would be at ankther company or anothe facility. If I had to guess, I would say these pieces are the beginning of large planetary gear boxes used in industrial building, ships, machinery, etc. There will be much machining work before these pieces ever reach the end of the process to acheive the final product. I worked in an industrial hydraulics facility building machinery to be used in the offshore oil/gas industry. Many pieces are custom made to needed specs. We ordered material in required hardness range then our machinist would take it to the finished product or part needed. Although I to would lime to know exactly what the finished pieces are usrd for, it is interesting. I have done lathe work in the machining of break hubs used in jacking systems for 'jackup barges' requiring hammer forged material. It definatly takes a toll on the carbide cutter inserts throughout the process. I know from experiance why some parts can cost so much as its not just the material being sold but the entire process of taking the raw material from start to finish.. The time involvement is unbelieveable. Not to mention the cost of the machinery and the man hours involved to create a specialized piece.....I love this stuff....again, it would be nice to see a series of videos showing the entire process from beginning to end! Even then, some companies may exclude their process to be filmed. One thought I had in the start of this video was 'it would be nice in the winter time but hell in the summertime, lol...

What do the flames erupting from the bullet indicate? Like from the side of the bullet at 0:40. Was a pocket of gas there? Impurities?
Not sure completly but part would be the extreme pressure forcing out any and all impurities from the raw material. I would like to know what the 'rockford'? hardness of the final finished piece..... Definatlty take more than a 'hacksaw' to cut it, lol.....
They use graphite for lubricant which burns off; the bit at 0:40 fell off some part of the press onto the part.
