Im curious to see this list. Because some people neglect certain games just because they didnt like the genre, specifically sports games. NHL 94 is absolutely top 20, that game alone for Genesis determines the quality of any best of list for me! I mean, people STILL play NHL 94 today, even online. I can't think of any other genesis games like that besides the Sonic games. You could replace games that honestly, sucked ass on this list like Flashback? FLASHBACK? Shadowrun is boring at times, but a decent lengthy game, not top 20 though. Herzog I've never played but I wouldnt put it over some of the great platformers left out of this list!! NBA Jam TE is great but, Saturn has the arcade port, genesis version was mid by comparison. Dude,,, with games like NHL 94 and possibly the best non Sonic game on Genesis, Comix Zone, not even on here, this list is ok at best And how is only 1 of the core Sonic games here? Sonic 2 is the best game on the console. If you add Sonic 3 AND Knuckles, yes, that's the best game on the console. Yes we all know it was meant to be released as one game, but it wasn't. Single cartridge? Sonic 2 is the best game. Sonic 1 2 3 and Knuckles all should be on this list, with the latter 3 being the literal top 3 games on genesis. But I give this list a C- for trying to at least give variety!
Here are some hidden gems on the Genesis worth playing: th-cam.com/video/_ilODjKjyxk/w-d-xo.html

However, the exclusives of Genesis were what made that system..oh ya, and Mortal Kombat (original) had the blood code lol. I also ended up buying a Saturn (to complete that generation's trio) and a Dreamcast, so I never abandoned Sega, even when I owned the other consoles by Nintendo and Sony.
wasn't "Out of this World" the sequel to "Flashback" ?
Toejam and Earl went hard.
Shinobi is free??
Pretty great expanse of the GENESIS ( 😉) But you forgot Road Rash
How did Earthworm Jim not appear on this list? Who hurt you?
Zero tolerance, WWF WrestleMania, earth worm Jim
The worst part of the console wars was definitely when Pac got killed.
My top 20
I can’t..!!
it’s too many games.!!
A top 20 Will leave out way too many games and cause world war
Super Nintendo can have a top 10 or 20 because the top games on snes is definitive to the system .
But the genesis lybrary was just too vast with games that had such an impact on the run for top games ..! It’s not fair 😢

Nice Video ! Sub & Big Like ! And Love Retro Genesis Game !
Next: Sega Dreamcast
I would have put Sub-Terrania somewhere on the list, but good list all the same.
THE BEST SONIC GAMES: th-cam.com/video/Q_wIpSwgAPM/w-d-xo.html
The lack of Shining Force games on this list is quite disturbing. Surely, they deserve a spot.
I look for Sega game which has turtle's slide down into volcano 🌋 using ropes and fight anyone know that sega name ?
Freaking limey! How do you miss Madden? It started a multi decade franchise
No Sensible Soccer?
Thunder force 4 missing is insane!
I thought Dr Robotnik mean bean machine reminds me of Dr Mario.
Landstalker was the Genesis version of Zelda, and far better than many games you listed here.
Streets of Rage 1, Sonic 2, Moonwalker, Micro Machines. Just a few that should be on this list.
Toe jam n earl was awesome for us. Kin to zombies ate my neighbors
Most of this games don't deserve to on this list.
Why put Multiplatform-Titles on a Genesis list? 🤔
As a person who grew up in the US with it being called Genesis, I always thought the name Mega Drive was way, WAY cooler.
