Both Redcat and Traxxas are both good. I dont believe one is better than other, it just depends on what you end up getting. I like redcat cause i got started w redcat. Some do traxxxas
Which redcat did you start with? I started with a brushed volcano in blue and I’m pretty happy with it. I’m getting the pro version soon because I don’t have the brushed version anymore. I only have a slash platinum now.
I hope you research it more first. I had buyers remorse almost immediately. In 20 minutes and 3 small jumps I broke a front suspension arm. I've replaced the entire front end with aluminum upgrades, servo save has about 1/4 inch of slop. Left front dogbone keeps slipping out of wheel cup and bending simply doing figure 8's in the yard. I've tried adjusting suspension, turnbuckle, and O ring and tiny spring tips I saw online and still fails every time. An hour of tooling for 5 minutes of play. Now I'm either going to remove front dogbones and drive it 2WD or kick it into the river
To each is own, but every ttaxxas i have owned and raced held up nicely never any issues but maybe some offset gear mesh and shitty servos. I have a 2wd slash custom with well over 700 dollars in high end aftermarket parts and its been very reliable. Ive also own the epx drift, the gen 7, the blackout pro, and rampage, and rockslide. All of those redcats were either defective or junk. The gears were cheap and stripped easily, the servos were wayy too slow, the recievers constantly went to shit without water damage and i by no means run them hard or crash often so like i said maybe i got bad ones but i still think traxxas is a bit more durable. I mean just try a slash 2wd or 4×4 or hell even a rustler. They are no bad vehicles and the upgrades are endless man. Hell if you reacg out i have enough parts to build you a slash 2wd and ill send it to you guys to have.
For me it’s the opposite, my slash platinum needed several hundreds of dollars worth of upgrades to finally run properly, but my volcano was put through hell with minor breakage. It even got ran over but it didn’t break, it just needed a new body.
Redcat over Traxxas any day, You get great stock motor. BRUSHLESS! Out of the box $70 less than the stock Traxxas stampede brushless

It will take a 3s and I use a 3s 1600mah 30c and it surges a little bit but normally I’ll run a 5200mah 50c 2s
U need to turn the burst up too 100 percent..its factory set at 75
