    You left a 3300 KV stock Redcat motor in that thing and you're adding metal? You should've at least updated it to a 4400 KV or higher. You're not gaining anymore speed. And it's just a cheapie 2-pole motor not even rated for 3s. What's it have, a 45 amp ESC? I run a 150amp in my custom Volcano. And a 8th scale 4-pole racing motor that can almost use it all. I have two Volcano's and they're both all metal. Everything. One's a nitro. I hate to run them anymore. They take forever to clean. And the nitro is a grease mess. And they still eat axle shafts for lunch, and the pins on the heavy duties. So I run a Hosin X07, stock plastic with an 45amp 3s ESC to bash with. The 45 is plenty for the light weight plastic car. It comes with two batteries, a metal servo saver, metal servo arm, all metal drive line, oil filled shocks, metal front steering knuckles and back axle U brackets; very nice. It's a lot better truck than the Volcano ever thought of being. Seriously. It doesn't break, and you don't have to make it metal if it doesn't break. And it's only 200 dollars complete. You have to add the 3s battery. A Volcano with two batteries is over 400 dollars; and they do break. That's all a Volcano does is break, it's 8 year old technology and that's why you have to make them metal. They self destruct on 3s if you don't. I broke one of their cheap plastic chassis in half. You're certainly not going to replace that with plastic. So mine are fully armored and custom built. And I see you're well on your way of doing the same thing. And I can assure you, it doesn't end. The problem is, they get really heavy. 12 lbs I think. I have an 8th scale 4900 KV monster motor in mine. It's rated for 135 amps, up to 6s. The ESC is a 150 amp Hobbywing. And together, they eat axles shafts. Add in a gyro and a bigger pinion and that truck hits 80mph. You do realize the metal tie rods and upper control arms have a lot more slop in them than the original plastics. I went back to ball snap plastics because the gyro was having a tough time with the slop and wouldn't stop correcting. Snap balls have no slop at all, and they're still adjustable. That's what the Hosin comes with as well.

    So I updated my arms and hubs to aluminum one my redcat and the drive shaft keep popping up what should I do?

  • @Grey-Troll

    I know this vid is 4 yrs old, but those aluminum arms are gonna come back off if you bash it any. the plastic ones absorb the impact and really save the stubs from bending if you hit anything.

    Hello! I want to buy a volcanic epx pro, but something stops me before buying it, will the crown and drive shaft differentials withstand 3s? or in a short time I will wear gears? I know that I can go +35 mph (that without a doubt, but this truck resists that speed for long periods? As for gears? .. regards

      the drivetrain is strong enough to handle 3s, not a problem

      Make sure you open them up and grease them. Or they will wear. Redcat uses very little grease and pretty cheap metal. I use white lithium grease.

    Battery in a box really 😂 so it can get hotter especially 3s 😮😂 come on common sense😂🤦‍♂️🤓

      Your inexperience with the subject is showing through greatly in your comment. This little rc does not draw enough current on the battery to get any where near hot.

    I run my Redcat 3s with a 60 amp ESC and 3000kv motor. I changed the sprocket to a 64 tooth 24 tooth configuration. It's insanely fast.

    I had that wheelie problem. I experimented with weights in the front. No more wheelie problem.

      Wheel weights are definitely not a good idea. You'll be sure to bend more dogbones way easier

    With all the money you invested in this shitty truck you could have just bought a kaiju by now

      its not *shitty* it can be just as good as the kauiju for about the same money if you know were to buy the parts

    Nice video, I have the golden aluminum version with big tires. You gotta get the "12mm to 17mm hex adapter". It will enable the truck to go through bigger obstacles. I had it on 4s and can't wait to put it on 6s then 8s later.

    Yo I got a question for ya I got one of the newer versions of the volcano pro and I replaced the pillars with the aluminum one and the new metal posts no longer line up where the holes are, although the original posts I would have to bend the plastic pillars to make the body fit right but the metal obviously has no flex so I was wondering did you run into this issue as well???? And how do I get the exact right placement for new holes cause I feel like I am going to have to put in 4 new holes in the shell for it to fit right now cause I can't think of anything else I can do

    • @cavemanmechanics1631
      @cavemanmechanics1631  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes we had the same issue. After putting on all the aluminum parts the holes did not line up. the back 2 lined up, we just had to cut 2 for the front. Let me know what you end up doing or if you need more info.

    • @dannysdailys
      @dannysdailys 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're better off keeping the plastic body posts. They're shear off in a crash. The metal posts will just destroy the body.

    can you link where you purchased the battery holder

    • @cavemanmechanics1631
      @cavemanmechanics1631  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      the battery holder came with the truck. it is included with the pro version, does not come with the standard version. if you look up the parts list for the pro version you should be able to find a part number for it

    Man, aluminum A arms are such a bad idea... lol. Looks pretty, but that's about it.

    • @carimpest
      @carimpest 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      as long as you dont wreck it to hash it should be ok, for jumps and crashes it would definitly be a problem ,but for going in sand, making some jumps, and bashing with out hiting the arms, they are more than ok...belive me...i own that thing in full aluminum

    • @jeffarab4947
      @jeffarab4947 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It eill be good but not for jumps or anything extreme. I think aluminum parts is good for better control and speed
