Bill Ward (drummer) is a MONSTER and is vastly underrated among the early rock drummers. What he could do with a basic 5-piece kit was absolutely insane.
Can you imagine what everybody thought when this came out in 1970. This is extremely hard extremely heavy riff crunchy and Bill Ward beat in those drums like they owe him money! Plus what they were singing about. This is what you call Iconic!
Great reaction, it's hard to beat War Pigs, but the thing about Black Sabbath though is that they started out great and then got better with each album. You really need to start out at the beginning with the song "Black Sabbath" and work up from there. If you pick songs randomly you might miss out on some of the songs most people never hear because they never made it on the radio. Even though people request songs, they'll love your reactions all the same. Every song is an experience, not just a song. Thanks, and hope you continue to enjoy each experience. Oh yea, Tony is a left-handed guitarist and lost the two middle fingertips of his right hand. Thats why they sound like they do, because it hurt like hell when he played normally.
These young people need to protect their hearing! 😂😂😂 Not like us when we would have it so loud the neighbors would call and complain. So, don't ever live in an apartment!
I was born in 1962. I grew up with this running through my veins. The birth of metal and the world view on politics in flux. What is happening now has happened before. Not religious what so ever but a day will come where a great change will occur and the world will look to see itself for its insignificant place in the universe that it is. It will be catastrophic and fighting rich men's wars leaves us vulnerable to the power of this planet.
Which was a common sound during WW2 across the UK. The boys in Black Sabbath grew up in post war Birmingham which was awful and dreary. It most certainly effected their parents and them as well. Long Live Black Sabbath, the greatest rock band ever. 🤘
I will always suggest Black Sabbath to a younger generation. I recommend Children of the Grave off of Maters of Reality. It aligns with current events pretty well too.
no fingertips on 2 of his fret hand, metal accident chopped them off so he tuned down and he created the thin gauge strings and made fake finger tips so he played with no feeling
Pretty clearly an anti-war or maybe anti-establishment song in so many ways. Religious/judgement/karma notes for sure. And, if i recall my childhood, this had lines quoted out of context a LOT trying to prove these folks were anti-religious, devil worshippers, bad for the children, and so on. Its a classic, and always meaningful, and a work of art.
Dude... Check this out.. the Guy on Guitar is Tony Iommi... He has no fingertips... !.. If you want some insane Bill Ward drum action check out Symptom of the Universe and Rat Salad
Turn it up. Read the comment that you fixed it. Great , do this live Paris 1970 and you can see ward really hill it on the skins. Big end of the sticks hammering.
If you want to see a couple of amazing guitar solo's , amazing drums and bass check out Ozzy Osbourne's Mr. Crowley Live with Randy Rhoads. Might want to google Aleister Crowley because the song is about him. You won't be disappointed. Randy Rhoads was the best EVER in my view but he only played on two albums. He died at the age of 25 while on tour with Ozzy in a tragic plane crash .You should read about that too. Would love to see your reaction.

@@RQG-YT I agree! Hand of Doom!
Musically, Toni Iommi on guitar, Bill Ward on drums and Geezer Butler on Bass were an amazing trio. Ozzy was the cherry on top.
Dude I have that exact hat! 🧢
Love Black Sabbath. Still amazing 50 years later.
Check out the live version from Paris 1970.❤
This came out during the peak of the Viet Nam war. We saw it as THE anti-war anthem.

Air raid siren, during WW2 Germany bombed London a number of times throughout the war so the British were quite familiar with these sirens 1940-45

Most excellent in picking up the guitar and the most props listening to all of us. 1970 should be a metal tattoo.
Black Sabbath 1968-eternity🤘
When this came out I was in middle school. We had never heard anything like it.
