    I bet you were leaving Maine thinking "I dont want to mix another bag of concrete for at least 6 months."

      Exactly. I can report that a single bag is remarkably simple.

    Amazing work Dave! I also like that you inlaid the little bronze plaque instead of using screws, I wasn’t expecting that. After watching this and your soldering station build, I should give JB Weld another try!

    • @cinodrome
      @cinodrome  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      When we bought our house, an original 1915 toilet water tank was leaking from several cracks traveling straight through the ceramic. I "welded" the cracks from the inside of the tank with J-B Weld. That was 20 years ago and there hasn't been a drop. I've used it for absolutely everything and anything since then.

      @@cinodrome Did you put a top coat or anything to protect the gold leaf?

    • @cinodrome
      @cinodrome  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope. It was sold to me as “exterior”, whatever that means. I’m certainly okay if it dulls a bit, and it’s easy enough to resurface if I ever want to spruce it up.

    Wow, the wood from that tree is gorgeous!

    • @cinodrome
      @cinodrome  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Isn't it! A big part of my love for the tree is that it almost died 17 years ago after a root was cut. The black streaks in the wood are the few years when it was hunkered down trying to recover. It came back strong, but not strong enough to weather last winter's storms.

      Love it! It’s a whole thing. Weirdly, and frustratingly, saying “subscribe” in one of these ridiculous little films increases subscriptions by a preposterous degree. I resisted doing it for two years, and tried doing it in an unexpected way. Glad to know that it still elicited an “errrr”. I feel the same way - will likely kill it.
