- I put on my practical modeling hat for the week to build a miniature electrical switch for two old VFX models that needed a proper display.

Fantastic!
Seeing that list of the model team brings a tear to my eye. Grant, Tory and Adam. What I wouldnt give to be a part of that.
It was a remarkable crew.
Thanks Dave, this was really great. It's one of my favorites so far. I love the history and wish more of today's filmmakers were using practical effects. You really are a master craftsman!
I'm not convinced I qualify, but I like the sounds of it. Thanks so much.
fantastic mash up! And a second life for some history.
Thank you!
Well that's a thing of beauty!
Thank you!
Beautiful.
Thanks for watching -

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have fallen in with such a remarkable group of people.
shedding light on the past. 💡
Ooooh.......
An incredibly fun project and a delight to watch! Thank you!
Thank you!
Aaand there is the soldering biscuit tin! Got it. Crazy brilliant level design/build. Can’t wrap my noncraftsman head around most of it, starting from the very idea of painstakingly creating something 3D based on a 2D image…. WHAT?! Not to mention the amazing history behind the pieces (thanks for providing the historic context!). SO GOOD!!
Thanks. From one vantage point, making 3D things from 2D things sums up my entire career.
OMG! I wish I could like this more than once. To have worked on and have pieces from those movies... Damn ! So cool!
Thanks so much. They were terrific builds - the Matrix models in particular were wildly ambitious and gratifying to deliver.
Dave - looks like you have one of the new gen sharp writers in this video. Are you as disappointed as I am with the change in quality ?
Disappointed doesn’t cover it. Heartbroken? Even the color of the plastic went south.
I have left a review on their website - I’m hoping they revert but I’m doubtful. Picking up a new one feels foreign. I’m trying to milk my last 10 of the OGs, not sure what I’ll do after that.

I love this channel. it’s so retro relevant that one can imagine where the term cool could come from a place where the bygone era style and future are all one. The Cinedrome. I hope I over sold it. It’s just I was inspired.
Love it...
This was great.
Appreciated.
Absolutely wonderful. What is that dodad well thing that sat on top of your glue pot called?
No idea! It's a solvent dispenser thing that everyone had in the ILM model shop. Can't remember where I got it - who gave it to me - what it is...
@@cinodrome Thank you regardless! It looks incredibly efficient.
Didn't know you were an effects creator. Guess i should have known thay from your video with Adam.
Are you doings these videos in your downtime?
Love your aesthetic
I've been coming and going from the industry over the past few years, allowing me the luxury of kicking around personal projects, and associated films.
Well I am glad to be here to witness some of these projects.
