Been there. I'm glad I invested while working, now retired. The office life wore me down to a lump after poop.. Now I can pick fruit or make ladders. Currently, Building a stone patio. Edit: and watching too much ytube.
I'm in the USA, what a awesome video. The man builds the ladder and shows each step how he does it, an I really love to see the old tools he used to build it. Take for example the ladder rung squeezer or setter, what a great idea the person had when they built that tool. Then at the end showing the cherry farmer using the tree ladder the guy built for him that day. I'm 54 now and as a young man I remember using wooden ladders everyday but not built that way, ones I used were heavy because they had steel support bars at each rung. But this video was a real treat for me this morning to get to watch it all. Thank you so much for making this video and sharing it with the world. Now it can be watched anytime by anyone.

Wonderful story - loved how they arrived to work on bikes and not in two huge SUVs. These two people are in balance with the world they live in and makes a quality product of something fully natural 😊
Yes some talk, some live. The past generations where living way more sustainable and apparently also happier. We don‘t need all that stuff. It leads nowhere. Consumerism is the greatest plague this planet has ever faced. With our best wishes from Switzerland.
Super Sache. I used to watch my Dad making wooden 5 bar gates from larch. All mortise and tennon joints done with a hand bit and brace ( before the invention of cordless tools !) and every joint pegged with a wooden dowel. They were "rainy day" jobs and I used to love eavesdropping on the "adult" conversation between him and his two colleagues !

It is so nice to see husband and wife working so happily. The love he puts into each ladder is admirable. This real talent and skill is what must be preserved. ASMR video. God bless you and your wife Alois. Any vacancies for interns??

I envy this guy, he creates something and loves doing it. I sit in an office and go under from stress, I can see that his way is way better and gives him peace and calm
You will find what is right for you. The office is probably what provides income but not satisfaction. Try reducing income, reducing living standard, increase happiness and time for you. With our very best wishes from Switzerland.
Been there. I'm glad I invested while working, now retired. The office life wore me down to a lump after poop.. Now I can pick fruit or make ladders. Currently, Building a stone patio.

Thank you Terry. We are happy you enjoyed this film. Highly appreciated. We trust this finds you in great health amd happiness. God bless.

Greetings from Scotland! What an incredible craftsman at work....making old style beautiful pieces so skilfully. All the best to Alois and his missus.

Dear Mr. White, thank you for sharing your story. Sounds like there was still room for socializing at work 😀. Kind regards from Switzerland.

Amazing ladders! The process would be equally amazing if my forty-year-old son were making them, but this is a 78-year-old retiree who bikes to work!!! Absolutely fabulous Alois!

Very enjoyable to watch. Much prefer the wooden ladders myself - and to realise a 40 year lifespan is just incredible. Get two as a gift when you're born and you're essentially set for life. One sits in storage until the other is required. Beautiful
