Have you ever been in a situation where you noticed a high-performing, strong employee who was previously doing very well in his or her job starting to care LESS about their work? Let me know in the comments below! In today's video, I talk about what employee engagement truly is, the signs of an engaged employee and how to get disengaged ones back on track.

Motivation or employee engagement ceases to have any effect after the organisation forces you to participate in experimental medical procedures. Never forgetting and never forgiving and disengaged.

As much as I appreciate your golden rules of positive motivation, people also need to know as managers, we are not glorified babysitters. I have always been a leader who cares, but in some cases, workers don't care and will do everything possible to do the bare minimum . When confronted, they often say, well, I am trying. Is that fact or fiction? I will go the extra mile for most of my teams to help motivate, but..not everyone wants to be motivated. That is fact and sadly, that is when you have to cut the cord.

Employees are motivated, but I had managers who were lazy, never paid attention to what employees did, demotivated or fired employees who were doing good. People lose interest in their jobs when they don’t get raise or promotions on time .

Linda, such a great point that managers need to be fully engaged before they can expect full engagement from employees!

Most employees who leave an organisation leave their manager rather than the organisation itself, so yes it is so important that managers understand the importance of engagement. As Kerry Goyette suggests in her video, you can't actually motivate someone, they have to do that themselves, but as a manager you have to create the environment that makes that possible. Thank you @LindaRaynier Sx

Hello Linda, thanks for this brilliant advice ! it is actually relevant to have an engaged manager to follow the same path as an employee , I would be happy to review these topics in your next videos : Mistakes to avoid as a freshly promoted manager / the art to announce good - bad news / learn how to say no in your hierarchy / how to gain respect from your former colleagues. as always thanks a lot for your engagement as a mentor , great videos !

      All managers everywhere do.
I found this looking for PowerPoint ways to get employees engaged and not just attend another presentation about foreign objects in food. Why would they care.. Why should they care? Again, not just sit there and look at stats on the screen.

My boss is "motivating" his employees by taking 3 separate vacations over the course of a month and a half this summer all while very much being needed at work to WORK!!! The rest of us have to work on overdrive and cover his butt while not getting compensated for it. I gotta get outta this place haha!

The PURPOSE of everyone in the company is to create customer value. You should all be pulling together. The CEO is responsible to the owners (shareholders). The front-line employees directly create customer value. You live and die by their work. Managers are in the middle and arrange for everything the front-line employees need. Really good teams win Superbowls. As soon as employees start optimizing their own self-interest, the company is on the road to bankruptcy.

I am an respectful supportive engaged manager team of 4 and I have 1 employee who is very rude.. disrespectful to others and not a team player. She is just in the job to get paid and go home and thinks she’s always right. She comes across as a bully.. she was once a disrespectful manager who was told to step down!!
