My favorite is definitely Fallen Julia, if she counts as a support. So many debuffs with her refine + ploy, and she can hold her own in combat too. Otherwise, Nergal is just so fun to use.

I +10ed Young Duo Robin on day 1 of her release. Not a single regret. I love the combination of Grima, Chrom and Robin skills all in 1 unit and magnified. This unit will be great for years.

It seems like the best predictor of support prowess is recency and rarity. The only unit older than one year in the first two tiers is Duo Askr, and the highest ranking unit that is not a 5-star exclusive is Ashnard, all the way down in C tier. I agree with your general premise that uniqueness is the key to an unit aging well, but the power creep keeps making what had been special common. As much as I appreciate, for example, Velouria, her support can now be cobbled together from many other units.
Ok, I finally got around to watching this video. I have thoughts about it, and I apologize in advance for the wall of text I now see I laid before you. First of all, I very much appreciate the enormous amount of work that I can only imagine has gone into the making of this video. The individual unit analysis were mostly on point and any critique on that regard would be so limited that it'd be nothing short of pointless nitpicking. That said, I disagree with the "ranking system" on a fundamental level. I sincerely feel that ranking supports measuring their combat prowess in equal measure to their support capabilities, and in a vacuum of space where the corresponding mode/meta is not taken into account is a huge error in the approach. Now, I don't know if I could tell you I could have done that better or how. I think it's a tricky enough thing that it'd require time to consider, but I'll try to exemplify this in as short a manner as I possibly can (which is probably not gonna be short at all). While I understand the value of role compression, sometimes what a unit brings to the table is so important, than combat does not matter. Case in point, Freyr/Medeus. Their combat is absolute shit, but they have been pretty much "must field" units since the day they came out. Medeus only now is starting to fall off, and that's mostly because the defenses of today don't get to turn 3 without the outcome of the match having already been decided by then. What they bring to the table is/was so important, that a lot people use them off season (and I can't tell you how happy I am that I don't have to anymore). On the other hand, while Grand Strategy is great and I bring L! Robin to most non-competitive things I do in FEH, he stopped being relevant when Ploy started to spread as widely as it has, to the point that I wouldn't burn one of my 5 team slots to include him even if you put a gun to my head. See where I'm going? Another example is Duo Askr, a unit that is very near and dear to my heart because it was a staple of my defense for a long time, but what he does stopped being relevant a LONG time ago with the introduction of Scowl on every relevant tank, and extra specially after Veyle. Yes, the Duo Button is great, and Laguz Friend gave him a new lease on life in SD, but he's no more viable than he was before in AR. Sure, you could use it to pre-charge your AoE user... but you could also use IP4 on THEM, and use that team slot on something more impactful. The whole point I'm trying to make is that I feel the sheer enormous scope that you took on made for a video that needed to not be a "catch all" tier list. In fact, after writing all this I feel this could have been split into different modes and the analysis been made on a case by case scenario for a more accurate representation of where the units actually stand on those modes. Again, this is a great video that, IMHO, would have benefited from a more contained scope.
I would rank GK a lot higher on this. We are entering the bonus eraser meta and we need those drive stats more than ever to edge out matchups.
His support is ranked at a 13. 14 is the Veyle, Seiðr range. 15 is the Askr, Choe range. Where would you put him?

Over an hour long? This will be quite the trip! My favorites have to be Winter Cordelia, Spring Framme, and Citrinne. They are my most used units right, but I am also starting to bring out Fallen Veyle since I don't have scowl effects for any of my units.
Tina and Gatekeeper are also really great, but mostly for my AR-D team. Same with Brave Robin as well.
I keep forgetting about how Mozu can be a support unit with the bonus effects they give. Mauvier is a physical wall of a cav unit, but he also has a three range bonus sharing range to boot. Easy to overlook and great to pair with Hortensia.
Dang now i can really see Askr go say "You have no enemies summoner, no one has enemies", which also makes sense considering the summoner can support literally everyone

Here some point from me:
- Where Fallen Julia ? Since her refine she spread a lot of usefull debuff and can nuke very hard ! She definitly missing on the list. Especialy when similar unit are there !
- Same go for Bride Micaiah, who also spread a lot of debuff like Yune do ! But she not on the list ?
- I would rise Arion higher (1 or 2 tier). The unit is surely not Hinoka or Chloé but he still make flier line possible and still a pretty decent fighter. Mine can challenge Ike with the right kit !
- I would rise Velouria 1 tier above, the recent skill inherith make her a pretty scary fighter and her support still unic enought to make her shine her role
- I could rise Celine 1 tier too, her combat is more impressive than people think
- Also, I saw Annette but no Astrid or Heather ?
- I think Fallen Lloyd could had a spot too on this list !
a lot of people slept on heather. i would also like to bring attention to bridal fjorm and summer hilda.
And can’t forget Fallen Ursula handing out Desperation like free candy AND being one of the hardest hitting nukes in the game!

New player here and I just came across Valentine Myhrr. What a unit literally. Dunno how long I'll end up playing so I went ham on the Fallen Banner for +10 Ursula/+10 Nergel, and got quite lucky with 5 Attuned Azura's by time I hit the 40 pity mark and still have tons of free orbs left quite insane how F2P the game is atleast at the beginning. My +10 Fallen Ursula could only do 38 Damage to a 56 HP Myhrr using Ike Emblems Armored Beacon and got 1 shotted on the crackback
As a returning player, this was so helpful. I pulled Emblem Ike and had no idea which of my units would work with him. Thanks to your video, I have options to build a good team around him. Love your content :)

Missing Isadora, an S tier AR-O support! Also Fallen Julia is now an excellent support on AR-O and AR-D. Duo Sanaki unironically as the best AR-D support, because she completely changes how the AR-O team is able to support / set up their formation 😂

Incredibly interesting and useful video!! The only nit-pick I'd have is that Halloween Flayn is too low; damage reduction, special cooldown charge, and neutralising foe's bonuses to attack is actually quite a lot of effects to combine into a single unit!! And her attack and speed are good, so she's not a terrible combat unit, either (for a staff ofc). But that'd only bump her up a level or two haha so it's not like the main takeaways of the video would change either way!!
While I agree the new Duo Robin is fantastic, I am not 100% sure about #1 just because you can run Brave Robin/Young Robin as the great equalizer, then Ike still wins (from my testing)
I am extremely high on Tina because she steals AND turns off the bonuses. Forgive me if I'm wrong but isn't the only counterplay to that just Not bringing bonuses for her to steal?
yeah kinda thought tina would be a bit higher, mythic loki makes sense not to be as high because you have to have at least 3 bonuses to have them deleted but tina doesn’t have that restriction and just steals them. when dealing with tina, i have tried stacking one or two more bonuses on someone other than my tank/carry and my tank/carry can keep their effects, but tina and her team are getting the same effects so it’s still dangerous. what i will say is tina is very dependent on the foe’s team and if the foe knows not to bring bonuses then she doesn’t do much other than chipping the opposing team
I feel like with how much Young Male Robin kept getting tagged as best friend for a lot of units he def should be a tad bit higher, rally spectrum on a ranged unit is really no joke and specially when he can also be built around laguz friend 4 for an aditional edge.
Also rip Isadora for not making the cut, very good support for omnitanks in general imo.

surprising that this channel isn't as big if not bigger as other more popular feh channel.
Velouria remains my favorite support in AR for precharging AoE or Galeforce, and she still holds up surprisingly well in combat even if she doesn't inherit every new infantry skill that were selling like hotcakes, though mine being +10'd and max flowered may have played a part.
Her staying power has just been incredible
absolutely! love my velouria. gave her beast agility 4 and mercy-wing echo and now she can support any beast galeforce units by auto transforming on her own, and allowing units like f!edelgard and askr to transform (just have to tuck them in the edges) and still initiate on turn 1. of course not to mention her goated cooldown support. don’t regret investing into her at all, wish i can get more merges
As general list, yeah acceptable.
I do wish Young Emmeryn got a little callout tho
The fact that you didnt include either of the Kvasir really hurts me. NY Kvasir is such an underrated unit, and her support is not to be overlooked. First she inflicts flash on opponents after combat, this allows you team to safetly engage the enemy and while yes, Null-C is more prevalent nowadays is still not ever present. When she procs her special she will either refresh an unit including dancers or allow units to teleport with in four spaces to move adjacent to her. I use her on my light defense team and she is a main part of how well my defense does.
One more thing in her favor is her ability to dissrupt Galeforce, you do not how many times a Summer Eldergard has intiated on my team by attaking NY Kvasir, only to fail at even getting her below half health, this also happens with units that warp in for a follow up.
I can say this, RIGHT after Joel finished the video and got ready to put it out, he thought up a few units he forgot. Kvasir’s wasn’t the only book 7 OC lol. Still, you can extrapolate where she would be based on how other units with similar power and support ranked. Where would you stick the Kvasirs?

I was watching for her! Pretty sure I saw her at the bottom of whatever tier was before he did every unit, C tier maybe? I’ve had so much fun the last month playing with her on AR-O but no matter how much I tell Joel she is good, he refuses to be convinced.

It doesn't even take that long for the tier list to actually get to good units. Goes to show how well support units age. Already D and C tiers come in with heavy hitters in the support category. If only their combat just weren't so bad. Like sure, GK, Ashnard, and Duo Ymir are pretty tanky, but tanking isn't really ideal for this meta and they're simply no where near the same potential as those mentioned later..... like VMyrrh what more is there to say than that.
Something I liked to do before quitting this game was run support as my carries. Which of course meant I was stacking support for my supports. Some units like Ashnard actually support so good they benefit even themselves with their own support. That's just fun. It also made sure that basically everyone in the team was super buffed, so if there was ever a mistake I made with positioning the others were usually well protected still.
The blending of different game modes really does a number to some units. Midori/Safy range from almost required for a competent dark ARD map to useless in SD. Really hard to rate units like that when they are so dominant in one place but kinda whatever every else in this kind of cross game mode comparison.
I love big tier lists and I cannot lie, and I love support units too.
Well, according to my HM, my favourite supports are: Fallen Maria, Alear (f), Falle Chrom, Rearmed Lucina, Gatekeeper, Brave Robin, Mythic Peony (do dancers count?), Legendary Hinoka & Legendary Yuri. I started playing the game around last years fallen banner so the fallen stats might be a little skewed. I don't do HM farming though.
I all use them in both supportive and combat ways. I'd add Ninja Igrene, Harmonic Tana and Attuned Triandra to that as some of my absolute favourites. I'm kinda suprised that Harmonic Tana is missing from this list, canto (1) is such an incredibly strong and versatile effect, flyers in general are already a support tier higher with the Guidance skills, and her Harmonic skill is literally a dance.

Since I know you're a bit of a calc buff, I don't suppose you'd have any sort of common SD matchup list I could import? I'm trying to gauge whether I want to give one of my very valuable laguz friend rearmed charges to an unmerged Nergal for Sorenball shenanigans and I'd like to see how he handles the role.

I finished my +10 duo Soidr. she is my pride and joy and a TON of help in arena and AR O. I was really looking for W!Edelgard in the DSB but she kept popping up. I just need Crystalline Water on her but cant spend this much cause I am waiting on the ike and marth share. love the list my only caveat would be that S ranking Camila, her legendary tittle makes her unusable in scenarios where she doesn't converge. id love to have her every season in every mode like I can with Lyon or FYRobin.

Also immediately gonna argue Avera for E tier - she's a flier with stats extremely well suited to run just about whatever skills... Guidance, ploy, etc. and has the HP to actually survive a fair amount

@@insxnemxnd3127 hmmm looking back at it you def have to cut her HP a bit if you want to focus into res... Which I think is ok in a lot of cases, since mine also has the highest HP of any unit in my barracks. Mine has 42 res though base while going all-in on HP, if I shifted to still water that could get up to the low 50s.
Personally though I run HP stacked with guidance
I always get surprised at how she can survive hits due to decent Spd and high HP in mid tier Arena

I feel like I have to say... that healers do have access to DR piercing
well only if they are infantry; since they have access to tempo 4, laguz friend and mag nfu
does that makes them nukes? no. the closest to one tap enemies is cornelia (from my experience)
she has the most potential due to her staff having wrathful, in combat dominance, innate atk/res debuffs, I have her with mag nfu (cause I gave it to her before tempo 4 was a thing) and she hits decently... the moment spd/def ploy exist she is gonna be self suficient to deal a lot of damage
I wanna give her laguz friend so the high cd specials help to one tap the enemy not if nor buts (she would need an infantry pulse ally to do so.. which is a support for a support so I can agree she is not the best support but is probably the best staff unit to have combat capabilities)
My favorite support unit right now is probably Heiðr. Always feels good to give nukes a little extra unga, the guard and extra action also give some added flexibility for many clears I enjoyed cooking up. A little upset to see her untiered
So a little behind the scenes bit, Joel finished the video and got it uploaded and posted it for the team to review it early and right before he put it up, he realized he forgot Heidr. Someone made the joke that he had started working for IS, where forgetting Heidr is part of the job.
He meant to include her, but 120 units is a lot to keep straight.

Also no Duo Hilda anywhere? I would think they would at least be worthy of a place in the lowest tier, though I'd argue they deserve to go a bit higher than that, even.
My favorite support is R! Plumeria because her penelty doubler goes crazy with sabotage from other units. (oh she is not present on the list☠️)
Also shoutout to V!F!Robin with her incombat healing support which still is unique to her. My L! Seliph or brave attack near saves i used befor had a really great time with that. Im also a bit sad that she never gets into support lists.
Unironically, my favorite support is August.
Let’s take summoner duals into account. Just send one unit to their death, and BOOM, your unit (who’s ally supported with August) now gets:
GFU, DFU, and -2 special cooldown. This basically guarantees infinite AoE.
And now Lumera can give you stones, anti guard, and anti ranged warping

You used Mythic Veyle's weapon when talking about Legendary Alear at 35:00. Alear's doesn't have any innate support capabilities.
One quick correction 35:00 Alear’s weapon description is wrong & does not give those effects

Not me hitting 4300 in SD with Aversa…. Took a lot of effort and the proper team but I did it! Just for her to be F tier *sigh*
I'd personally have hortensia slightly higher (12-13 in combat instead of 11). She still hits incredibly hard, just not against the 2 ncd tanks (Eike/duoleths).
As for Catria I know shes fallen off, but she will always be S+ tier/best girl to me. It literally took cavs like duo sanaki to finally drive her out of the meta and that was because they didnt need any of her support (brave or warping).
I'm not sure I like the rating system. I think adding the combat value of the unit is ok (although some supports are fine by being only supports), but when you only value their offensive combat capabilities, neglecting their defensive ones it bothers me to no end (specially the inconsistence of it, as some tanky supports get great combat scores while others get extremely bad ones). There are quite a few supports that are excellent as secondary tanks: Gotoh, Lumera, GK, SYmir, Ashnard, Nah, Dagr, etc. Other things I disagree with:
- BSoren in C tier is just wrong. He is a support unit that we build teams around, specially in the current LF meta. That is your criteria for A tier units, yet he is two tiers below that.
- FLumera is a great primary omnitank (Stone, EIke + Roar, Scowl, LF, Veins, DC seal). She can easily deal with VLyon and LCamilla, and can also survive and counter kill plenty of other meta stuff. She has way better combat capabilities than VMyrrh for instance, who struggles to kill stuff.
- Both Lilith, Ashnard, Juno, Catria, and Cordelia can run Soaring Guidance + Snap on top of their support, which is quite a useful and unique combo. Lilith can also deal with EIke quite well, which should give her extra points over her fallen version.
- FUrsula is missing, and she is an amazing nuke much like DIgrene. Even if her support is not as impactful as her (although arguebly), she should be here next to her.
- Heidr is missing, which is weird as she fits most of the criteria mentioned (good support + good nuke + great flexibility + action economy).
- Ratatoskr is also missing, which again is weird as she gives anti-warping and can act as a nuke or secondary tank on a team. She can also run galeforce, which you seem to value.
- FJulia is missing, and she should also be here, as she has pretty unique support and can deal with VLyon and help the team deal with EIke, which are the two biggest meta threats.
- HMia is missing, which considering she is a better nuke that Askr, while having a similar pulse effect, she shouldn't be ignored.
- Some other comment already mentioned the Kvasir missing.
- Some omnitanks with support capabilities are missing. XCaeda (Orders), Mozu (cooldown reduction), HTimerra (Pulse), FLloyd (Foe Penalty Doubler) are missing. Maybe they are not the most amazing supports, but thanks to their combat presence should be over some of the listed units.
- YFrederick and Isadora are missing.

The best support hero has to be Male Corrin with his refine that gives +4 all stat drive. No contest.
So true. M!Corrin has an S tier weapon refine for support purposes. He has the best support refine and Ephraim probably has the best offensive refine.

I mean, Lucia disables all Special to trigger during combat.
My only guess is that they can cover different weaknesses? Alear can cover piercing and Lucia can stop specials.
PROBABLY he was just using Lucia as a stand in for the Omnitank style of unit, but Lucia herself is probably the one Omnitank who probably doesn’t need Alear around all that much lol. I think he just means Omnitanks since he has used Lucia to represent them before in Meta Reports.

But then Safy does just that + healing extra 10HP, granting Omni+4 in-combat, and having the ability to run the exact same support skills, but with extra possibilities because she can run Ploy, auto-dance with Magic Shield, or loop Balm+ specials with infantry pulse 4 which are unable to be panicked or debuff because of the cleanse. How is that an E tier lmao
She is SUCH a popular pick on Dark defenses (and she would be really good in Anima, but role compression makes Freyr just better), so it's really surpsing to see her so absurdly low.
My current opinion on Safy vs Midori in dark is slightly Midori favoured. Midori can be setup to live turn 1 WEdel even getting hit by Ploy and assuming support which is my major benefit. But I also agree that Safy was too low on this list. Realistically most of the time both of them run Canto Control so the Ploy comes up less. So tl;dr is Midori's combat is better. Safy should also be higher.
35:05 alear couldn’t stand veyle anymore and stole veyle’s weapon lol. not sure if it was mentioned but alear’s weapon is incorrect here. she has the dual phase brave, inflicts an omni-stat rein on the foe during combat, and 40% dr on the first hit and with aoe’s. kinda seemed like you were including the resonant effects alongside her dr piercing support as part of her score so i would have her be lower than askr for that reason

If you listen to his analysis, he didn’t talk about those effects at all, just her ACTUALLY REAL support capabilities. He must have had it right in his notes but edited the wrong weapon description in. I think his placement for her is fine, but I’m also biased since I have her at +10.

@@illialidur8244 he briefly mentioned the resonant effects but in hindsight he was mainly focusing on the dr piercing support. her placement is fine but unsure if he was including the resonant effects as part of her score at the time which could’ve gave her a bit of a boost.
