  • My father left me three fantastic varmint rifles and this beautiful example was built by Jim Zahm. It is a Winchester Model 70, Pre-`64, and was beautifully built. This one was topped with a fixed eight power Leupold, which I found odd.
This is my first time using Tannerite and I was impressed with the results on a 20lb pumpkin.
Skip to 7:34 for the satisfying boom.

SBHP is probably "solid base hollow point". I was going to say square base but most brands would say flat base.
I don't have any experience with that cartridge. I remember reading long ago about a guy who was waging war against crows in his pecan orchard. He had worked his way up to .220 Swift but he remarked that it was a pretty big piece of artillery to be carrying around in the woods. I fired a .22-250 that my uncle had on loan, that's the next closest thing to .220 Swift. That particular .22-250 was very accurate.
The full size pig (javalina) is the 100 meter target for handguns (IHMSA), 300 meters for NRA rifle silhouette.
