During the Animatrix you can see the machines building the hover ships. It appears they manufactured them and sold them to the outside world when they were attempting to become an independent nation. It is stated that they became successful which led to jealousy amongst the humans. So it appears that the resistance has the earlier technology and as stated in the video they upgraded the technology after human relations failed.

In the Animatrix you can also see the Hover Pads on the planes that darkened the sky
+OverlordARG Exactly. In the economical crisis you should see the advertising that clearly shows the machines/01 invented the actual hoverpad technology to propertize and trade with humans; as literal flying Cars.

Dont agree with that. Hoverpad technology are already there. The human ones was bulky and suitable for only large vehicles like bomber. Thr machines managed to make them smaller, more reliable, and cheaper, giving them the economical advantage.
I think it’s interesting that even though the sentinels are the physical counterparts to the agents in the matrix, smith is such a danger to both the matrix AND physical reality that at the end of the third movie the sentinels and Neo agree to destroy smith

smith had become a rogue agent and that is a possibility in a learning ai, it happens when it sees too much of the something bad that it starts to think that's normal and thus it starts to do that.

Agent Smith was an infected program, a virus by the time of Reloaded. Neo acted as an antivirus by destroying him in Revolutions and restoring the Matrix back to it's former glory.
I always had a theory that the Sentinels are the Agents in reality

No One we got lucky with blade runner 2049 being a great worthy sequel and amazing in its own right all the sequels and reboots the last several years have been just awful cringe worthy sjw infused crap

Ive always regarded sentinels as the apex of evolutionary robotics. Why have two eyes when you can have 12? Why have 4 limbs when you can have 16? A machine race would not remain humanoid for long if they can help it. There are far more efficient ways to exist in reality.
It all depends on the environment and the needs of organism or in this case the robot. Having more, doesnt mean its better. For example all those "eyes" are facing the same side. That is kind of useless. Having more than one is good for depth perception, but at one point the number just becomes useless. After all its a movie and they wanted to make them look cool.

@@vasilije94 I hear ya. They were designed with very specific functions in mind. All those eyes facing one way prolly makes it easier to complete multiple tasks at once or track more than one enemy or object.
vasilije94 And that is the advantage the machines in the matrix and terminator and such things have over biological life. They do get to decide how they evolve
It is theorized that ...even in zion they are still inside the matrix..thats why the engineer said that there have been several "neos" before..and thats why Neo could use the "EMP ability" in zion, when he was supposed to be outside the matrix.
Because he reached the source in the matrix and didnt reset the matrix again which allowed him to be connected and tap into the robot wifi in the real world

I’ve actually always thought that as well. That boy with the spoon made me think about it. After Neo woke up there was still that spoon in the real world. As if to say that Neo was still in the matrix.

@@FutureDeep indeed, people forget the architect and his speech to neo, telling him they have sacked Zion before, and had become ever more efficient at the process as time went on .
Think of it like ants in say the fake movie scenes where they swarm and eat someone ... or like a river you can stop so much but if the current keeps pushing there is nothing that can fully stop it from overcoming you once it’s breached your defenses

@@some_shitposting_idiot3023we are mostly referring to how good the machines as a whole have gotten at planning the extermination of Zion, not the individual units , but since you asked ....
it may not have shown it in animatrix on screen, but humanity destroyed some of the machines , but the problem is thus; none of that matters...
Any losses the machines incurred were insignificant, another unit was there to take it's brethren's place when one fell, sure you might kill one, or five, or even ten , but a thousand more would be upon you and kill you.
Every time the matrix reboots they send a force to purge Zion , and have done so several times, , at this point they have it down to a science just how many units of sentinels they need to wipe out Zion.
Lastly I might point out it is very hard to kill a sentinel, it takes a lot of bullets , a very heavy looking lighting gun or an emp blast to kill a sentinel, the latter of which will leave you defenseless if you use it prematurely or don't get ALL OF THEM at once.
It's established the machines did invent the hoverpad technology and sold them commercially before the war.
You saw an ad for them in The Second Renaissance short

Mine as well. So brutal and horrifying. We were fucked from the start. The nuke going off mid-air amongst our own troops in desperation, just showed how badly we had become beaten. Machine superiority is frightening.

Men created robots (a.i) and treated them like shit. Robot kills a man, men destroy almost all robots but rest of them took refuge in middle east.
Robots started makin better things and better a.i. Men got jealous and started war and lost.
During the war sky got dark because of the plan to cut solar power from robots and thus robots need human bodies to energy.
Matrix is to prevent human mind from snapping by living in illusion.

Smith was “Negotiating” with Neo while he was still a part of the matrix (Neo thinking that smith was JUST an agent in the “real world”) at best he’d just erase Neo’s memory of this whole ordeal and he’d just wake up the next day and live out his life in the matrix and at WORST kill the “One”
Smith “negotiating” with Cypher was most likely going to end with cypher being killed

The hover tech was shown to have been originally created by the machines in 01 after their exile from humanity. They sold this on human markets before the war, as shown in The Second Renaissance Pt 1 from the Animatrix
I was just at the end of my school years when the matrix first came out. It got a bit weird but it was still a good trilogy. I bought the Animatrix and that was good too.

Before watching the Matrix, I thought the most terrifying robots in cinema history were the Terminators. I never thought it could get any scarier than that ... but how wrong I was. After watching the movie for the first time I had nightmares of the sentinels for an entire week.

I'm always totally amazed at the cgi in the original matrix. It seems so seamless and non-intrusive. How come today's cgi monsters and other big dumb digital things stick out like a sore thumb? Fyi, I know that there's a lot more cgi in movies today in places I don't even process, but constructs, contraptions and creatures still somehow look bad.

If you watch the whole Animatrix series, you see that the machines do in fact invent the hovercraft technology. Which is ironic, because we use that technology to carry out operation “dark storm”. The military maneuver where we blocked the sun out by blanketing the earth in black clouds. The idea being that we would cut off the machines from their primary energy source. Which in turn leads the machines to look for an alternate energy source, that source being humans. We are indeed, the architects of our own destruction.

I always thought, because of their arms, that Sentinels were the drain snakes of the tunnel world below the surface of the Earth.
Sure, they might have been repurposed as mechanical hunters, but I'll never be convinced that their original purpose wasn't to unclog toilets.

the original story written by the wachowskis was that "reality" where the sentinels are is not actually real life but instead it's also inside the matrix and just a trick to catch people that try to escape
The original story also had the robots keeping humans alive for our brains' processing power. The idea of using humans for electrical power is pants-on-head retarded for so many reasons, but the studios felt that general audiences wouldn't understand the original idea.

Sentinels in Matrix series used to creep me out. They were like flying terminators that almost got even Zion's best pilot/ gunner twice. Ie; Logos that was Zion's fastest ship but smallest guns was almost destroyed by tow-bomb stopped by Ghost's gun skills/ EMP in Enter the Matrix. Hammer that was bulkier ship but bigger guns survived run to Zion by Niobe's pilot skills in Matrix Revolutions. Other ships including Nebuchadnezzar were not as fortunate from these mean terrifying machines..."/
