  • An EV Charging Post is basically a Level 2 Charger (EVSE) without an attached Cable. The EV Owner provides that. There are advantages and reason why this is becoming popular in Europe... but will America follow this TREND, or is it just a MIRAGE? Put your vote in the Comments.

I like this idea, we bring our own cable, we cut down on copper theft immediately.

When you mention using light posts I'm reminded of the last time I went back to the cesspit I grew up in, the UK. In my home town they were turning the street lights off at night, to save the planet. Good luck charging your EV overnight there...

I don't think this is a new concept, were literally talking about installing 240v outlets everywhere.

I hope it will be a T (trend) since I already carry my own cable with a Velcro cable wrap. Bollard design would be best with solar and wind to charge so there will be enough for street lighting and EVs 😊

The amount of solar panels to charge a car would be multiple times wider than the street.

    M. All EVs in Europe come with one of these cables and always have. It has never been a thing here in North America, so there is a big chicken and egg problem. Who is going to buy a cable before there is anywhere to use it and who will install this type of charge point if no one owns a cable.

These should be the new parking meters. Subsidize power and charge parking by time. Simple. The fact there are literally no efforts like this in the US demonstrate politicians with lofty green promises are not serious about actual doing anything

That's because they know the whole climate scam is fake anyway. If they believed their own BS they'd be importing cheap EVs from China and scrapping their private jets. Don't hold your breath for that...

Owners will lose their cables because the copper is valuable. Thieves will come and take your catalytic converters while you're charging. Dog pee will eventually rot the bottom and the post will fall over. People might trip over and sue the owner. Lots of negatives.

Let's make things up that don't exist. Theft might be your only one there
