I am stuck for such a while and I worked so hard on my page. It’s very frustrating specially when you genuinely invest time, money and energy. I wanted to give up so many times just because of bad figures/results but my dream is much stronger 💗

Great points Millie! The bots people buy and the "not bot" but boost your followers, engagement, etc... being served up in IG ads are insane. I'm a bit surprised in a way that Ads like that are allowed on IG or any social media. I've seen many pay to play "social media growth strategists" advertise. To me, and I might be wrong, it seems that it will only lead a "vanity" metric and not a meaningful metric to know how well the content to ceated is resonating with an audience. It boils down to the short game vs long game thought process. So many people want to be "influencers" and become "instant millionaires" and think it can be done super fast. Sure it's possible, at the same time it's a long game play to have lasting value and one that will require a person to evolve and grow personally and professionally. Just my two cents as someone that has taken long pause from the times I created consistent content on TH-cam. At one point, I had over 700 videos on my TH-cam channel that were answering subscriber questions, and many aspects of real estate from big to small. I've since updated over 500 videos to private status so around 200'ish videos (give or take) are availabel to view. When I resume creating content again, it will be with a much clearer mind, focus, and intent. Not just believing if one puts in the work, commits ot the work, and ads consistent value, that people will want to subscribe/ follow an account. Just my two cents perhaps. Your strategy is working very well for you and I can see why from watching your videos. Keep crushing it.

If you have your niche defined then it may be a content issue. Really focus your energy on making valuable content for your target audience 💪🏽 aim for 1% better with every post!

I've lost a few followers recently because I had one series of posts in Dec/Jan that was extremely popular, the 'climax' post of which pulled in nearly 2000 likes (for an account with about 2700 followers, that's massive!) As a student embroiderer who is learning all sorts of techniques, I don't do the same thing all the time, so I'm guessing that I had a number unsub because I wasn't posting more Jacobean work. So, it was hard to even stay static for a while. Now I'm growing again nicely as new projects are attracting a respectable amount of interest. I guess that goes with the territory for artists, especially those who are yet to develop a personal style in their field.

Hi Shannon! Either works! You can absolutely audit your own account💪🏽 It can be challenging but it's possible. I had to audit my own account when I was growing because hiring someone to audit you account for you wasn't a thing in 2019. Of course it helps to have someone judge from an objective perspective but if you're not able to invest in that yet, that shouldn't stop you trying auditing yourself 🥰

Thank you so much for this 💕 I have been stuck at 1,022 followers for sooooo long. It fluctuates by +2 or -2 and that’s it. So weird. I feel like my account is blacklisted or something lol
Stick with it! I was at barely any followers aside from family for ages, but then my follower count and traffic slowly increased and I'm now close to 20k. It was an uphill battle for sure, struggling with IG's algorithm - you'll get there!

I always feel kinda confused because I am a music & Makeup account .. basically I do covers and then mainly my makeup comes out during October/Halloween . Other than that I do full body pictures and just I guess be cute haha. I'm not sure how to completely niche down because if I only do music, I have people who love my makeup, and vice versa.. and then I feel the full body stuff is mainly for personality wise and keep people engaged & inspired to be fierce.. I grow slowly on both the music and makeup front but I know I need to figure something out to be consistent. smh

So I have 10k followers, all organically my content is very unique and my main topic, well I helped popularized my hobby and I have the largest followers in my category. But from nov to dec I went from 1-3k likes tons of engagement etc. but coming 2022, I dropped to 400 likes and no comments and my data shows only 600 of my 10k followers see my posts and maybe 9 people who don’t follow me. My content hasn’t changed, everything I do is organic and original but not sure what happened
Two things could be happening: the holidays took a hit on everyones engagement so you're not alone with the random drop lately. Also, once you hit 10k, the algorithm kinda changes and your content gets pushed differently. When I hit 10k, my engagement dropped DRAMATICALLY after like a month or so. I just kept posting and it went back up in a few weeks 🙈
Hey! Would appreciate any advice… I’m an artist and a few of my works were reported for nudity (despite not at all being sexual, just a bit of boob in a painting). A fellow artist reached out and said it might be a follower who doesn’t want to see me thrive, and I suspected this. Anyway, as a result I archived the reported posts but now anything I post is not getting any reach outside of my current following, which is very small. Any tips? Should I block the suspects and change my username? Should I just start all over as I only have 200 followers? Should I just be anonymous to get rid of jealous “friends” or should I continue posting and just blurr and hide anything against guidelines? 🙏🏻

Recently I had that epiphany about unfollowers.
Normally we get really upset or have a failure sensation when someone unfollow an account. You too?
What I found: don't be. This person is making you a favor. And also IG, reminding this person that (s)he shouldn't follow you anymore.
Why? Because what you're doing isn't fitting this person expectations anymore, or perhaps IG itself aren't fitting this expectations for this person and (s)he wants less notifications. Or something like that: lack of interest on be regular. If (s)he stays, will become a ghost.
And if you have more ghost users than you should, IG can't determine your content quality because nothing you do seems to hit enough engagement. Accounts with its engagement worse than average is perceived as having low quality content.
So if you see someone unfollow you, let go. Is the better for the person and for you.

I believe that there are a lot more other reasons that are WITHIN our control that we can focus on before we blame Instagram. Instagram definitely filters and hides content they believe don't "fit their guidelines", that's no secret. But these other reasons in my video are also a huge factor that a lot of people overlook because they would rather say "I'm shadow banned" instead of trying to make adjustments to their strategy
@@MillieAdrian Oh, I see. That makes sense. Because obviously shadow banning is a huge issue though too. It's so obvious when you're account is growing a certain amount each day and then all of a sudden goes to zero for two weeks. But I understand you're point of focusing on what you have control over.
