Good video! It may be the best starter, but im curious, whats your FAVORITE daily driver? Still a generalist like the Titan?
@ParagonFangXen I have to admit that until the Zeus is released, the C1 has been my ultimate favorite daily driver lately.
But my first love has always been the Retaliator. Something about its beautiful swept wing design makes me want to turn that ship into one that does everything.
@@Hav0k yes!!! Finally! A Tali lover! I cant claim her as my first love (and similar to you until i see if i should apply my Zeus CL upgrade, the C1 is my current daily driver) but shortly after learning about the Tali's modularity, fantastic armor, boarderline overpowered gunnery loadout, size 9 torp bomber config, there is just SO much to love about the Tali! At 150 she is my pick for BEST deal in the game. Even if the Crucible and Endeavour are technically better per follar deals, the spending threshhold is so much lower for the Tali that she makes a better overall deal in my opinion. Cant wait for her Gold Standard refactor this patch!
@ParagonFangXen yeah it definitely is a really great ship. I just wish the torpedo module wasn't so spendy. It turns that Tali into over $250 lol
True story! Some day, you could have a hangar FULL of ships but you'll still take the Titan out sometimes. It's perfect for lots of jobs.

with the gold pass rework I hope, the Avenger Titan will be even better or, at least, not getting worse.

The Avenger Titan is a great starter ship, no doubt. But I do personally prefer the Nomad over it, even if it is slightly more exoensive and less manuveurable. I prefer the extra utility, larger cargo capcity with easy access and the addition of a tractor beam. I also LOVE the cute and cozy interior of the Nomad's compact living area.

100% agree. I usually frame it as "Best Non-Combat Starter: Nomad" and "Best Combat Friendly Starter: Avenger Titan".
Though despite recognizing them as the BEST, my FAVORITE is secretly the 135c (or 125a), but I have only ever suggested them to 2 people, and only because i knew tbey didnt care about either utility or combat, but just on ease of use and aesthetics. Given their fuel scoops mean never refuelling in atmo, some of the best cockpit views in the game, easy walk on walk off play makes it more "hassel free" for those players sensitive to jank. I love it for the fact that it is small enough to use as a snub/runabout later down the line too, plus thanks to the Pulse the 135c can fit a ground vehicle now XD
@@ParagonFangXen The 100 Series ships are FANTASTIC little rocket-taxis. Over short distances, nothing gets you around faster. And in 3.23 they are surprisingly competant at combat too becuase of their sheer speed and mobility/ Fit scatter guns to them and they just take the piss out of everything else. I've been using a 135c a lot recently and enjoying it.
@@Nemoticon i agree! Love that it got the interceptor tuning in Master Modes! Havent tried scatterguns on it since the update, dual gimbled Size 3 Scatterguns sounds like a helluva way to roll, i'll give it a try!
@@ParagonFangXen Exactly, Interceptor tuning has really benefitted the ships it has been applied to.
Scatterguns aren't that great right now in terms of DPS and effectiveness... but I do it for the fun, lol. Mostly in PVE combat more than anything else, lol.

My Titan isn't the best ship I own, but it was my first and still my favorite.

Besides the starter pack with the aurora the avenger is the only ship i paid real money for years ago and still use the ship today.

Just picked this up in game. I initially wanted a vulture bit i was given the wrong price so I was almoat 500k shory. Picked this ip instead to see what its about
I'm just about to get the game and the Avenger Titan seems like the best choice to have a better experience with the game starting out. I'm glad to hear people say that they still fly it after years of playing the game. I highly doubt anyone is still doing that with the Aurora or Mustang. Thanks for the great video!
Glad you found the video useful! I definitely feel it's one of the best starter ships to have for it's price. The Aurora is good, but loading the cargo is a pain. And the Mustang is missing a bed.
@Hav0k my brother in-law and I play together and we've been looking for a new game. Been playing Call of Duty and we have played Eve Online before. Star Citizen seems like both of those combined. Which ship would you suggest for a 2 man team? We are both starting with Titans.
There's a number of ships that are often a perfect fit for a team of two. The Cutlass Black, Freelancer Misc, Constellation Taurus. Just depends really on what you're ultimately looking to do. But that's where I would start if you both want to have roles within the ship.
@Hav0k the Cutlas Black is the ship I was planning to work towards as the first one I got after the Titan. We will start with bounties and PvP.

Started with the Aurora, now upgrading to this.
Yes I was able to do a bit of everything, but the Aurora has zero cargo, and I must buy containers and place them underneath the ship every single time, whether I lose the ship, every time that I log into the game, or even if I store the ship and retrieve it right away... they just vanish. There is no way of preserving the containers, which is utterly stupid on that kind of ship, and having zero cargo soon becomes a burden. It was very nice otherwise. Such a shame.
I use 3 OmniSky cannons on mine and I have been able to do VHRT bounty missions in it.

I really love my Titan for its versatility and it’s the perfect starter after each wipe 😊
The only drawback is the low quantum fuel capacity.
Switch it out for an Atlas! Tons of range with that drive!

I don't own an Avenger. My original startup ship was the Aurora, which got CCU'd to a 325A, then a Connie, then a Tali, then...I forget...Then a Carrack, then an Odyssey.
That said, I know a lot of people who own them, and I have flown one several times. Based on that, when anyone asks me what starter package they should get, my response is always the Avenger. A new pilot can use it for all of the starter missions and it will remain relevant, probably forever.
Yeah, this is a solid choice.
Only thing I kinda missed is that it's a turd to fly in atmo right now until flight control surfaces 🤣😅

@@LucasPlay171 I feel like the 325a is not as good as an all-arounder than the Titan is...It's a good ship but I think the Titan is just better as a 1-ship-fleet arrangement.
Best starter ship - if you like an all-arounder with a bit of combat focus: Titan. All-arounder with more industrial focus: Nomad. Limited ship that can't quite do anything: Cutter.
I love the exterior of the titan but I hate the cockpit but my starter was a 100i then I upgraded 315P and couldn't beat it for speed and rang and 12 scu couldn't beat it and being able to customise the colour and interior bits sold it for me
Yeah the cockpit is my least favorite part. That's why I often chose the Gladius for a light fighter.
While I agree its the best upgrade from the Mustang or Aurora at its price.
But, if one is willing to spend more, to have a better start, than the Cutlass Black is the best bang for buck. Multi crew, bigger cargo area, manned turret, etc.
The Black is like having an F-150 as a daily driver. Its just to versatile.
The comparison of the Cutlass Black being the f150 is actually pretty stupidly accurate. Maybe that's why I don't like the Cutlass 🤣🤣
@@Hav0k I hated the Black for many years. But I did find myself using my Blue all the time, only wishing it had bigger cargo. Which finally broke me down and I bought a Black. Its grown on me a little. But the dang thing is to damn handy to ignore it at its price range.
I have a lot of other ships, the Black is my goto hop in and go, for just about anything.

IF and i mean IF you have the money The Cutty Black can do every thing the Titan can do + fit a Roc and give a entry lvl Multi Crew. Pound for $ the Cutty Black is the best starter ship and game package IF you are All In.
Absolutely. The only thing is that it's not classified as a starter ship. But yes, it's a really good ship as well

Nice video! I just got into star citizen a day ago and ended up buying the cutter since it was on sale but Ive been looking at this since so many people say good things about it. I play with my BF a lot though since he got a freelancer, and I wish some of these cooler cheapish ships had 2 seats ;~;

you can't go wrong with the Titan. I started with a Mustang. almost quit the game Day 1. I got an Aurora. Almost quit the game Day 2. a friend said "Melt the Aurora, put its' value towards CCUing the Mustang to a Titan." LOVED THE GAME after that. I love that ship.
but as to my favorite starter.... so hard to say. coz I love the Pisces as well. and I Love the Nomad. and I like the 325A just a bit better than the Titan. (and they are so close in most of what matters, except cool factor). but for the pirce. Titan all the way.
5 favorite ships: Carrack, Vanguard. MSR, BMM, 890 Jump
top 5 most anticipated: Polaris, BMM, 600i rework, Endeavor, and the Carrier that this game so desperately needs, but has not even been discussed. because the LIberator is inadequate trash. and the Kracken is too damn expensive.

Yeah I bought a $5 CCU to the Syulen...I just can't get myself to actually use it lol. Still use the Titan too much.
The Syulen is great, but yeah the Titan is still a really great ship
i need to ask, wich ship is better for a beginner? the titan avenger or the syulen, i want to get into the game and i can't decide wich one would be better
In my honest opinion I'd choose the Avenger over the Syulen. Cheaper and easier to land. The Hangars really aren't made for the Syulen atm.
Lol I inserted my hoverbike insider the avenger cargo hold.
Good to know they fixed the collision issues in 3.23. I remember how 3.22 had a lot of issues with getting certain hoverbikes onboard and the Pulse had no issues
Well in the middle of the starter ship ven diagram. Gonna be a while for something to take the value crown from this ship.
Any citizen smart enough to start and end with this ship is doing excellent, imo.

Cutty is another solid starter ship for sure!
Still don't get why it only fits 8SCU. It can obviously fit more in the back by stacking on top, even if the fit is tight.
That second layer just doesn't fit.
Titan upgrade guide? please ^^
I'd be happy to put a guide together, but right now a lot of the upgrades are kinda meaningless because they don't provide many differences. All of the shields have the same values right now besides health. As far as weapons though... attrition 3's or m5a's are pretty dope.

Yeah, but... How do you exit the ship via the ladder? I've never been able to figure it out 😂
As of 3.23, if you look to the left of the canopy and click on the interaction wheel you should be able to exit via the ladder.
I do not have a starter ship. I have not played the game...yet. I am simply at the investigation stage to find out if Star Citizen is something I want to sink money into.
Quite frankly, the options of starter ships or packs (being a bit confusing in themselves) is a bit confusing. Okay so there are the two options at the lowest price, then a bit of a bump to the next price bracket, and so on. To make matters more confuzzing there are upgrades for various systems as well. Then there's are these... other... upgrades where you improve the model of a ship, like, the C8 Pisces to the.... CBX Pisces, or somesuch. Which to do first? What the serious **** is the deal?
Obviously with the more expensive the ship you start with the better the benefits... yada yada.
As a former Eve Onliine player I'm used to owning upwards of 200 ships at any given time for various purposes. How many ships can I own in SC?
All the so-called "Beginner Guides" assume you're already playing the game. I dont want to waste my money on a crap starter pack only to find out if I'd spent another $20 i couldve got a ship twice as good. If a ship doesnt have a Jump Drive to start with can one be added later for a nominal fee.... and so on?
I totally understand how confusing it is getting started as a new player. The only important thing is that you have a Star Citizen game package which is done simply by buying the Aurora game package for $45. (it's the only starter ship at that price point that I would recommend. The mustang isn't that great.) The Drake Cutter package is the next best thing that can do more cargo style gameplay, but has less weapons for $20 more.
After that, most of the ships can be purchased in-game and you can own all of them if you make the credits for it. I'd honestly say don't worry too much about upgrading your ship unless you really want to. But their option of upgrading your one ship to a better ship by going into your hangar in your account and following the ship upgrades section.
The year is 2012 (possibly 2013). I’m in college and a new game is being made, Star Citizen, it’s free you just have to buy the ships. I download it and get an Avenger, fly around an empty space with 1 space station. Game looks amazing, and is actually kind of fun, but really buggy.
10 years later, might be time to dust off that Avenger (if I can remember my login)
It's been a rough ride, but we're getting to the point where I'm thinking things will really start to happen. All I can do is just be hopeful.

Cutter definitely gives it a run for its money - cheaper, chunkier and less firepower but much more utility

300i has the same weapons hard points and is the same price but I'll be taking a crap on my luxury sholit and looking at the stars thru the moon roof while you'll be shitting your undersuite.
