Love the blues in the back ground
It goes with cars so well
It goes so well with cars
Hey Pete. I like that light. I might do the same thing. Get it out of the way and still work. Thanks for sharing.
It took awhile to find, but it fits the bill
I’m doing the wiring on my Streetbeast Cobra right now too but I’m not as far along on the body work as you are. I got mine the same year you got yours. It’s been fantastic being able to watch your progress. Thank you so much for your uploads. 😉
This kit is the whole reason I started making videos
Nice to see someone still using a analogue meter. Sometimes the digital just don't cut it. Of course all you needed here was a test light.
I always use analog, just something I use to. A test light would not work, I'm checking continuity, there is no voltage without the ignition switch on.
Great build Pete, really enjoying this series mate ✅
Thanks my friend
Beast cobra cant wait for the finished product. Bearly going to buy some subframe connectors for my fox body.
I should have a test drive soon
Hi Pete, I would love to have the Ford part number for that pigtail connector you used to wire the backup lights on the cobra. I see that you are running a TKO in your car. My son and I just installed a TKX into our late modelGMC C10 and I was just trying to figure out how those two wiring posts on the side of the transmission worked. It was great to watch your video. It seems that traffic is very Ford oriented when they make these aftermarket hot rod transmissions. They have had a strong relationship with forte over the years so I guess you can’t blame them? Thanks in advance for that part number.Hot rodding is a strong past time for many of us on Vancouver Island Canada. Keep up the great videos!
Hi Pete! I would love to have the Ford pigtail harness part # for back up lights on tko trans.

Thought I heard you say "ground" and "negative" in reference to the black wire on the switch. I know you know what you're doing but some people watching may not. No switching occurs in the negative side of a circuit only the positive side. Do not connect the black wire from that pigtail to "ground" or "negative". The fuse will blow every time the trans is put in reverse. Sorry to butt in, I mean no offense. Love your videos!
Excellent point. I meant the black goes to the return to the harness which ends up going to the positive of the light, then to ground. I could have said that better.
at 1:40 where did you get the green wire that says "backup light switch power"? I don't see that in the RF harness
It was in my harness
Pete, Don't waste your time installing a radio. you won't be able to hear it anyway and besides you'll be having more fun listening to the engine and the exhaust note. I also like to use relays to power accessories instead of running the power through lite duty switches
Good point, but it will look cool...lol
The wiring harness and fuse block have the relays built in
Really like the setup. Pretty sure that one wire from the pigtail goes to the positive fused line, and the other wire from the pigtail goes to the light, not to ground? Where did you get the led light and bracket? Do you have the part number for it? I can’t find a similar one by searching with google?
Search for trailer accessory lights. I don't recall where I bought it
I know this video is way old but thank you. I'm getting ready for this on my 68 Camaro. Just to clarify, you have one wire coming from your fuse box (power) and the other wire goes directly to your backup lights...correct? I ask as the Camaro has 2 wires coming from the fuse box so I don't think I'll need to wire the non power coming from the fuse box? Thanks!
One positive wire from the fuse box through the brake light switch. The ground is through the frame.
Hey Pete, I have a gen IV 454 big block Chevy out of a 1988 Chevy Silverado c3500. Im looking to rebuild the engine and making more suitable for towing. How would you go about planning out parts? I’ve looked at parts and come up with a list, but I’m not sure about what makes a good towing engine. Any advice or something you could give me? Thanks Pete.
Some T38 landing lights would work great . You can see them from 1.5 miles out . A little obvious there chief but it's a Ford right > I did get the trans info I needed so thanks !
It's an option
Weren't reverse lights first mandated by law in 1967? If your car is a '66 would it not be grandfathered in such that you don't need reverse lights to pass NY inspection?
That's true, this is a '66 replica but the Certificate of Origin says model year 2008. So if the DMV gets prickly it may not get titled as a '66 so I'm playing it safe. It really doesn't hurt.
Why install a radio?
I was thinking the same thing in my 66 cobra replica, but I can barely hear anything except for my side pipes.
My solution was just to stick a piece of double-sided velcro to a decent priced Bluetooth speaker on my dash by my rear view mirror, and pair it to my mp3 downloads on my phone if I want tunes.
That way I can either remove the speaker when I want or plug it in to my underdash usb/cigar lighter plug for charging.
The tunes are for when you stop....lol
