A character guide to Joe, William, Jack and Averell Dalton: Brother criminals who are the most feared and yet most stupid outlaws in the fictional Wild West.

No seriously, he's not over-exagurating, the two Lucky Luke movies, REALLY are awesome. I grew up watching them, and today I'm just amazed at how a French cartoon nailed so well the feeling of something as American as The Wild West
There are four of them and two are good, but one is the better movie.
26:44 the middle issue's plot is that Joe is angry at his brothers for messing up most of his plans so Joe plans a challenge to bring a million dollars to be the new leader of the daltons.
I think it’s 26:51, but you were close.
And yes, it is the only story, aside from The Dalton’s Cousins to have the brothers split up.
The third book is one of the only 2, along with Rin-Tin-Can‘s ark, to be in its original place when first published, others were close to their original placements.
So, I went to this Wild West theme park a few days ago and Lucky Luke, the four Dalton-boys and Ma Dalton were there as characters. I watched their show and I talked with them afterwards.
I told Ma Dalton that she is my favourite-Dalton which made her really happy.
Then I told her that I liked Averell as well, so of course she became even more happy and proud and told him to come. I gave Averell a sweet which he liked since it was food!
Then Joe came to get some appreciation, but oh no! I yelled at him and told him that he is the Dalton I liked the least, which Ma seemed to like! (I’m not sure if it’s a good sign or not that Ma Dalton likes me!)
Finally, I met Lucky Luke himself! I told him that I was madly in love with him when I was 8, but not anymore! He said something about that it was good my love for him was short!
Then I took a picture with all five Daltons and Luke!!! Luke had his arm around me (which he probably never had done to any other woman!)
It was probably one of the coolest experiences in my whole life!
I heard a kid trying to explain to Joe what TikTok (musical.ly) was! But of course he didn’t understand!😂
(yeah, I know that they were only actors, but it felt so real at the moment and it was really fun).
you must have some balls of steel to yell at joe. how many bath salts did you snort to get enough confidence to tell someone dressed up as Lucky Luke that you had a crush on Lucky Luke at 8 years old?? this is a monumental moment. i've never seen a comment like this ever.
Fun Fact : Joe from the New Adventures was voiced by John Stocker, who also did Thompson. The Hannah-Barbara iteration meanwhile was voiced by voice acting legend Frank Welker.

There is a big Wild West theme park in Sweden named "High Chaparral".
The park stages several stunt shows a day (also has a steam train that runs through the park and river with a paddle steamer) and stuntmen and actors performing shows. There is both the classic Wild West section, an Indian themed area, a Mexican themed area (where you can see Zorro-shows) and a Dalton City where you can see Lucky Luke and the Daltons.
I’m so gonna go there in the future when I can!

WOW, that was probably a lot of work, thank you for making this video. I think the Daltons are the first villans I like more than the actually protagonist. Maybe because I wachted the Dalton-series. After that, I started with the comics and the ones I love and want the most are the comics with the Daltons. Also thank you for showing some scenes of the cartoon-movies. I wasn't sure, if I should buy them, but now I will.
I had a weird dream where the Daltons gave up crime and ran a tech accessory shop and I was tasked with spying on them to make sure they had gone straight. If you think that's weird, you won't believe what was in the basement of their shop 🤯

I remember either the 2009 or 2013 series appearing in Rovio’s free (now nonexistent) Toons.Tv service back when Angry Birds Toons was at its peak
Can we give some credit to Averell? Dumb as a rock, but the only of the Daltons who has canonically fought Luke to a draw in a fistfight
Sometimes we see Avril Dalton angry and evil asses Brothers he's trying to fit in with them
Fun fact: Frank Welker (known for voicing several characters in Hanna-Barbera cartoons) voiced Joe Dalton in the 1984 series's English dub.
And here's another fun fact. In the 1983 Hannah-Barbara version, Rintincan (Or in the show he refered as Bushwack) is voiced by Paul Reubens. That's right, Rintincan is Pee-Wee Herman in that version
He was also pretty much everyone in the transfomers show
Yet another fun fact; Pierre Trabaud, Joe's voice actor in the original version of the first two films and the 1984 series, voiced Daffy Duck in the original French dub of Looney Tunes and Master Roshi, Emperor Pilaf and several others in Dragon Ball. He can also be heard in the first two Asterix movies voicing the decurion in Asterix the Gaul as well as the chief of the pirates and the Egyptian ship captain in Asterix and Cleopatra. Likewise, Gérard Surugue, Joe's voice actor in New Adventures, dubbed Bugs Bunny in the second dub, Marty in the Pirates of the Carribbean films, Mr Mxyzptlk in the 90s Superman cartoon and Garfield in The Garfield Show. So, both Bugs and Daffy have been Joe.
I remember once reading that William and Jack used to have their own gimmicks as well. Cant remember which was which, so the second shortest was a hot headed demolitions expert, while the second tallest was a master of disguise. Haven't read the comics so not sure how accurate that is.
That's what happens in Les Cousins Dalton/The Dalton's Cousins.
They have a slight trace of individuality, you're right about William being a demolitions expert and Jack liking ruse and disguise. In further iterations there's micro-characterisation of William being more family-oriented and Jack being capable of being somewhat smart from time to time 😂
Americans censored they say its not halloween yet... it in the french dub the guy says we only do this at night refering to the kkk...I love seing what americans think of my favorite story

I'm surprised you didn't mention about that the original ending of Outlaw(Hors-La-Loi)was Bob Dalton actually getting shot in the head with the bullet shown going through Bob's head and his feet hanging limp in the air with some suspicious looking liquid which could or not be blood dripping down and into a puddle on the floor.
This Dalton Brothers are actually the relatives of the original Dalton Brothers, in fact, they are cousins. The explanation of why they are less successful as outlaws is because they are rookies trying to fill the shoes of their famous cousins, whom they look up to. Unfortunately they have a long road to learn if they want to be in the same level of their cousins.
Love that I've found this channel. I love french comics but don't see it much.

I believe Joe was voiced by Frank Welker in the 80s version and John Stoker (who is basically the Canadian Frank Welker considering how many shows he's been in) in the 2000s version.

I have spent last 15 years studying lucky Luke and Morris himself and I must say Lucky Luke was created in 1945 just look at the signature of Morris in first two pages of Arizona 1880 it says Morris 45 and Goscinny game along in 1955 but the first episode written by him was published in album form 1957. Wait are there two different dubs for The Daltons’ spin-off? Cuz the most common dub I watched of that show is one TH-cam on the official Daltons channel.
Plus I noticed the clip you used from that show had different voice actors for The Daltons.

The dvd version of Go West! has an english dub on it. I got mine from amazon, last year. While the primary language for the menu text was french, the setup was simple to look through, find the audio options and change it.
My dvd of that film didn’t have an English dub and the only way I could find the English dub is through TH-cam.
The Deltona are way older then the beagles boys.
Hold on, Emmett Dalton survived the gunfight at Coffeeville and spent 14 years in jail. He later became a doctor and an author. He died in 1937.
That comic was a parody of the real Dalton gang. Pretty sure the brother's didn't look or dress exactly alike nor were they each taller than the other. They also weren't caught by a cowboy who could shoot faster than his shadow.

He became a Real Estate Agent not a Doctor. Ither way he survived being shot 23 times; is it any wounder why he went straight.

Luke and the Dalton discover that one of the original Dalton survive and went straight, Joe would likely try to make him a criminal again.

The English dub of the 2001 Lucky Luke wasn't American. It was Canadian

I don't know if the daltons can have swiss family members because Dalton is a Irish name member if one of the other family members married someone swiss but idk family trees. I have a Irish middle and last name but I'm part African american, irish, and maybe cherokee native.

Basically, the Sheriff that the Daltons were trying to kill, in an act of Pride and Arrogance, was so determined to prove that he could still catch the Daltons despite his advanced Age that he stole Luke's bullets and replaced them with duds to make sure that he wouldn't be able to defeat them himself.
When the Daltons ambushed the Sheriff and Luke in a Saloon and Luke tried to shoot the Colts out of their hands, while his weapon did FIRE, nothing happened since the bullets were duds. But the Daltons thought Luke had just missed his shots.
Luke, having realized quickly that the Bullets were duds, told Joe that his 'last wish' was to be shot with his own weapon. So Joe took Luke's Revolver and shot at him with another dud, thinking it was a real bullet. Luke pretended to have been killed and then came back later to take down the Daltons before they could hang the old Sheriff.

Huh... my copy of Go West! has the English dub on it...
The problem is that the English dub has no credits. No known voices or company have been known to dub the film, and we're still not sure if the same voices from "The New Adventures" were involved. (Although, it's kinda obvious that the Daltons got new voice actors.)
