It’s super cool to see the design change in this one, I’ve always been interested in classic designs

In the very early adventures Morris' style definitely looked very cartoon-y, with designs similar to Popeye. At this point in the series he was transitioning into giving the drawings much more detail, making the backgrounds and characters look more realistic but still stylistic.

Ah, yes, Des Rails sur la Prairie being one of my biggest faves of the Lucky Luke adventures for obvious reasons, right next to Nitroglycérine.
Cheers for going through this one as well, mate, it was a splendid surprise.
Speaking of surprise, I especially love the music choice beginning at 05:41 👌✨

Swastikas were actually used as symbols of luck and peace before the Nazis co-opted them. in fact they still hold those values in a lot of the world. The traditional Swastika can be differentiated from a Nazi one by the fact that traditional ones have dots within the space between the arms, like on the Native American in the comic. I assume it was used as a clever little gag because Native Americans are also called American Indians, and prior to the Nazis, Swastikas were most associated with India.

In Greek the comic is called "the iron Horse", the nickname the native Americans use for it.

As much as I enjoy Rintincan's character, I won't lie "Bushwack" became unbearably repetitive in the 1983 cartoon. Sometimes he worked in episodes he originally was absent for, but more often than not he felt like a unnecessary hindrance to the story or a cheap excuse to rap up a climax (I can't count how many times they use him as the quick "unintended hero" trope here)

I agree! He was funny in the comics, but he is a prison guard dog! Why on Earth did they place him in every single town Luke happens to be visiting??

I just found out they’re making a new comic for the series, it’s supposed to be about the racial sensitivity of the time. Just thought that was pretty interesting.

Have you seen the New Adventures episode "Return of Liki Liki"? That episode is about racial prejudice towards black people by Southern Americans. However the English dub changed the dialogue replacing hatred of blacks to hatred of "Yankees"

No, no, no! It's not a mailman. It's a Western Union messenger. Are you sure it's the prairies or west of the Nebraska-Wyoming border? The High Plains end in Wyoming. I like this stuff because it's so bad and stereotypical. Sorry, I live in Nebraska and my maternal grandfather homesteaded in Wyoming.
