That runner next to Sifan did not even react ha ha! She completely failed to understand an offering of kindness by Siifan or what she was even witnessing there.
She wasn't being nice per se. That particular stretch in the race is notorious because of the placement of the aid station so most runners will actually choose to not get one. The fact that she got the water and still manage to stay in that front pack tells her opponents that they're screwed because they know that Sifan will outrun them if she manages to stay in the pack. "Oh, you're struggling? *sips water* "Refreshing" "You want some?" 😂
This is truly remarkable. While you may be racing towards your own dream, never hesitate to look around and offer help to someone who may also be your competitor. With perseverance and an unwavering spirit of determination, victory will always belong to those who extend a helping hand to others on their journey towards success. In this Marathon, Sifan's had to pull out of the race twice to stretch and catch her breath. But she did not allow this to discourage her. Instead, with grit, she pushed through the pain. As Sifan continued in the race, she noticed her fellow Ethiopian runner Yehuala struggling with exhaustion and she offered her water to her competitor, but Yehuala declined. In the end, it was the courageous spirit of people like Sifan that helped them emerge victorious. So, always remember to keep pushing forward towards your own goals, but never forget to look around and lend a hand to those in need, including your competitor or even adversaries if they are in a terrible condition. Cheeeers Sifan Hassan.
Let’s be honest this woman is the greatest female athlete of all time. There is and never has been another athlete with a bigger range then Hassan. If she is planning to run all those distances on the next olympics she deserves a sixt new ring named at her.
She stopped to stretch, took a detour to get water and then won the marathon. She's gonna have a great career. Proud that she's a Dutch citizen. Go Hassan!
@ 1:27 "I'd suggest her race is run". Well, I'd suggest not judging Sifan Hassan by "normal" standards. The blistering pace she managed to produce after 2 hours of running is beyond belief. Once she gets used to running the marathon I'm wondering where she might end up, considering how much she had left, 2:12, 2:10?
apparently she was running significantly below her treshold otherwise those efforts would have killed her. Which also means, that she can definetly run faster times in the future.
Ela soube administrar o seu rítmo dentro da prova e fez o que é próprio do seu talento ao dar a arrancada da vitória. Foi uma vitória dentro do seu estilo! Parabéns a Sifan Hassan!
Again, yes 😅 Dutch commenters in Paris panicked every time she left a gap when they were going uphill, while it was obvious she was just sparing her energy, she was back with the group in no time as soon as they went down again… Paris was an absolute joy to watch, and an amazing, amázing achievement that I can’t even do justice with words; but this debut was so epic, I will cherish it forever 🥰👌🏾
Just last week we saw what could be the beginning abdication process of King Eliud Kipchoge and yesterday we witness a Queen in the making surprising everybody including herself by winning the London Marathon....What an eventful week
both commentators know what they were talking about and just in that moment were concerned for her as she has a track season ahead and this was her testing out the marathon in view of next years olympics, no one knew what her issue was and they were not going to not pass comment or have an opinion, and am sure were more than happy she carried on and won, they were both elite athletes that have seen and experienced it all, thats what commentary is, she genuinely looked in pain and i for one am super happy she was able to compete and win , awesome
just an opinion as it unfolded concerned for an athlete that has a track season ahead and was using this as a testing ground for next years olympics, no big deal that two great athletes in their own right had a concern for her welfare when she looked in pain, obviously it wasnt an injury and they were super happy along with most of us that she went on to race and win, i guess the other option would have been to ignore it, for me its what makes a commentary interesting, they sometimes call it wrong, perhaps they need to tap into the experts on youtube comments
The amazing thing is she offer water to her competitors after 2 hours and 11 minutes . just couple of yards before finish line . I think she is taunting them or she is over confident 😮😮😮
The worst journalist ! "is she able to finish as she always do" !!! Lol ... ! Fairplay Sifan Hassan won easily: No random ! She is made for shorter races, she is the best runner ever ! She just went for a stroll and began to run only in the last 2 hundred meters !😁😁🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰 The others remained stuck to the tar ! 🤪🤣🤣
3:32 Look at that moment. Empathy at its best. Even after facing a lot of issues herself and almost getting hit while taking that bottle she still offers it to Yehuwalew. It just bought tears💧 to my eyes. Sifan is a well deserved winner 🥲🥲🥲🥲

She is one of the most humble / modest persons I have ever seen. Well deserved!
One of the greatest sportspersons around today no doubt, to be world class at distances from 1500metres to the marathon is incredible.
it is. never been done before. am I proud as a person from the Netherlands that she did this? Hell yes!
that kick at the end is just stunning! these athletes can go where we mortals only dream
Never seen anything like this. Incredible achievement by Hassan!
Now Olympic champion on the same distance
What amazes me is how elite runners like Hassan make running at decent speed appear like a leisurely jog! 😮😮
Approximately 19km/hour that's super fast. 🥵
For every average runner like me it's just mind blowing...

Phenomenal race for Sifan. I wonder how she managed to close the gap after stopping twice.
This woman is a machine. You should see her race where she fell and actually still won!
