Thank You for the detailed information! You answered many questions I had. This will be my last winter in Pennsylvania. I'm moving South. Tampa is one of the places I'm going to visit. South Tampa is Very Nice!!! Great Video Melanie! Thank You so much. Enjoy your day! ☉😁😁😁
Great info! Just purchased my first investment property off of Bayshore blvd in Bayshore Gardens. Your videos have helped me out a ton!!!! Great production as well.
Great video, Melanie! In all my many trips to Tampa over the years, I easily find South Tampa the very best area. I love the architecture, the highly diverse and beautiful homes, trees and parks, and how handy it is to downtown, culture, sports and the airport. When I first discovered Hyde Park (around 1995), I fell in love with it - the food, parks and Bayshore Blved, where I took my runs and bi,e rides. I also liked the fairly unusual Crosstown to get around on, as I have friends in Pinellas County, too. Since Florida has no shortage of sun and heat, I love all the trees in South Tampa, and not just palm trees. The oaks offer beauty and lots of shade. Having been to all 50 states, I think the area around Hyde Park is as nice as any in the nation! I am sure there is still lots of neighborhoods I have never seen, but sure like all that I have seen. The Epicurean and Berns are fabulous and close by, too. You did a good job I enticing people to exp,ore more. That Plant HS is gorgeous, and I don't think I have seen it before, and glad it is also academically good.
We love your videos! We recently moved from the north east (single family home) to an apartment in St Petersburg and your content has helped us Tampa Bay newbies so much! Thanks for all that you do! ❤️
Great cheerleader for Tampa. Coming from the NE it took it a while to get used to the diversity in aesthetics as you have older homes (many instances teardowns) next to expensive McMansions. So many older homes are being torn down so the area is a work in progress. building Lots are in great demand. Home to be built W El Prado Himes ave area shortly. South Tampa is a great area.
Jaime Allen Thank you for your comment! The aesthetics can be hard to get used to on certain streets but such a great place to live! Glad you are loving the area!
@@MelanieLovesTampaBay Thanks. Just Not a fan of cookie-cutter, sterile-looking, bland subdivisions no matter how upscale they may be. Every third house being the same with the other two being a minor variation is not my style. I favor uniqueness, individuality. Many custom homes. This is what sets S Tampa apart and will continue to drive home values in the area.
You’re really good! If I was moving down, I’d definitely give you my business. I was just surfing videos killing time and happened on this one, and you’re making me seriously consider moving down there.
Great video! I love the way you share information. -I lived in South Tampa in 2008 & man have prices increased! I still adore the area & frequently think of returning. 💜
I love S Tampa.. I worked there for 5 years. Many of my friends live there. Unfortunately what I could afford would be a small or old walk up condo. Even the less expensive townhomes near Westshore or Ballast point are almost 300K. Also, many of the townhomes are 3 story due to the price of land. Some don't even have pools. Therefore I purchased a brand new townhome in Riverview. Real close to Ybor, Channelside, Downtown and S Tampa. I hope to move by years end. At some point I may revisit my dream of living in S. Tampa. I'll let you know if I do. Thx for the video.
I’m in love with Hyde park village. Would probly move to south Tampa if I didn’t already live in the greatest neighborhood already... Coquina Key in South St Pete!
My God.... I was looking all this kind of information before but I didn’t find it🙈... my husband and I already started our process in Westley Chapel just 3 weeks ago, they are going to giving our new house on September Next Year🙈🙈 Right now we are overseas so we didn’t have enough time to check in person When we were in Florida for vacations...
Melanie my fiance and I are moving there in January. We will be renting the first year to find a area that we like to buy a home. He is a military veteran. I'll be in touch been watching your videos a while! Thanks for the help! Very informative!
Any quieter, smaller town feel, neighborhoods (but with newer homes) in that area you'd recommend researching? How is the flooding/hurricane situation there because so much closer to the water? I've been looking into Wesley Chapel and Lakeland. Coming from CA and Florida is on the list as is SC and TN. Thanks! Love the videos! So helpful! :)

I'm a single guy that currently lives in New York. I just need a 1 bedroom apartment that's affordable and hopefully the job market there is good in Tampa. living in new york is very expensive, the cleanliness is not good at all, and things are just getting more expensive here. I hope living in Florida is affordable and much cheaper.
How about public land and parks? I see the "Central Park" of Tampa is a private country club. Any public spaces to go for a run? I see Bayshore Blvd but no substantial green space. Downtown St. Pete looks like a huge improvement, it has a lot of parks, but it's further from job opportunities. This seems problematic.
Being from Chicago is have a large supply of income producing property ranging from 2-8 units. I don't seem to see much of that in the Tampa area at least judging by my online research. Does South Tampa have income producing properties that are multi unit? Thank you.
Grew up in South Tampa, Bayshore Beautiful, 4th generation, yay!! Go Panthers!! But I hate when they tear down mansions on Bayshore to build high rises, not another Miami please!!
I live in Fair Oaks condominiums. I paid $55,000 cash for a 416 sqft condo in 2017. I don't have rent or mortgage; only HOA, electric, and property taxes which cost me a total of $259/month.
Is Brandon considered South Tampa? Is South Tampa a good place to raise a family I'm going to be moving there with my two-year-old I'm going to be looking for good elementary schools but want somewhat of a laid-back Community but with a lot of the fun
We moved here from SF 3 1/2 years ago. We live on Clearwater Beach. HOA fees can be steep depending on who old the building is, amenities, etc. If you are on the water it covers Flood Ins which is Bonus, water, sewer, garbage, and in our case even includes Cable TV and Internet. Do some research and find the best fit for you. With that said, moving from CA to FL is the BEST decision we ever made!! Love it ! And no State Taxes!!! CA Sucks now!!
@@joeyjoem4365 CA sucks no doubt about it. Im also considering Vegas. Honestly those sky high HOA were really a shock to me. Much higher than in Vegas. It almost kills the purpose of buying an economical condo, it renders them non-economical
@@dhpitcher We bought an investment condo literally 6 min over the bridge to Belleair Beach FL you can litteraly ride your bike over in 15. Paid 105K (about 4 yrs ago) for a 2/1 about 900 sq feet. Nice video but you have sold me on not ever moving to the Tampa area. It is not somewhere where the average person can live with those prices. All I saw was very big houses and nothing that the average income earner could possibly afford. I mean I make about 3 times the average income and still would not consider this area. Thanks but no thanks.
If you can't afford Tampa then I really don't know where else you can afford. Maybe this is because I'm from NY. I never heard someone say Tampa is expensive...
Better have a fat wallet, and a very high paying job to live in South Tampa. If you like old homes that are grossly overpriced, with low 7ft. Ceilings, then I guess south Tampa is for you!
I’ve lived in south Tampa my whole life (15 years) and honestly I wouldn’t recommend moving here there are a lot of druggies and it’s just generally not a good area
