🌴🏠 South Tampa living sounds like a dream! With its prime location near Davis Island, Harbor Island, and easy access to downtown Tampa and the beaches, it offers the best of both worlds. The presence of MacDill Air Force Base adds to its significance, while the vibrant nightlife, shopping scenes, and highly-rated schools make it an ideal place to call home. From historic bungalows to waterfront mansions, South Tampa has something for everyone. 🌟💬
Lived in S TPA 86’-2001 & 2011-2022 … it is very desirable / convenient / easy to get around … real estate has changed dramatically / had to leave due to the expense … add 25-50% to all the #’s proposed in this video … thinking the real estate market is imploding … Traffic, Traffic, Traffic now, too! I remember when you could get to the beaches in 15-20 minutes, but that’s a figure of the past … OVERBUILT 😢
Bayshore needs to be dredged it smells like rancid bacterial spores during low tide. Most walkers avoid it like the plague. South Howard has had multiple shootings that caused immediate fatalities, so be careful partying on South Howard. You may have to step over some bodies. The international Plaza is great good shopping its had a fair share of kidnapping attempts and bomb threats. Schools are filled with sexusl predators, and bullying is pretty intense. Homes are beautiful. However, zoning and use on the properties and land are obnoxious. Large lots may be more than or at 10k sq ft make up less than 16% of the properties. Bayshore is not the priciest. The homes directly on the water in the zip code 33629 are waterfront areas like Davis Islands 33606 and Sunset Park and culbreath isles. 33609 is also a "south tampa" zip code. Now there is Water St and Harbor Island 33607. Food options are endless and all kinds at that. Davis Islands waterfront is also known for bacterial spores, and access has been shut down on occasion. The city needs a real impact of development concern addressing the tremendous over manicured runoff from local properties and land. The river front river walk all the way to Mac dill AFB has alligators and sharks, so don't do too much swimming one way or another the bacterial levels cause flesh eating and sharks and alligators can leave a mark long term. Hospitals are good, TGH, and all women's Bay Care St. Joseph's are all stellar. Schools are good but only in the aforementioned zip codes. Good luck, South tampa. You used to be a quiet little gem but now seem to have some socio-economic disparity issues, gridlock, and environmentally hazardous concerns with water quality from the over development. Never ride your bike in the bike lane down Bayshore. All those lights added are symbols of the multitude of brutally fatal incidents of cars, people, and pedestrian deaths. In summary, Tampa may be a once was and lose its allure, and with increased insurance rates, especially waterfront, you may have to give up on pursuing a waterfront option. Its like Tom Petty once sang a song called welcomed to the Zombie zoo ! Or at least those lyrics seemed to rhyme true to the native tamoa guy who opened up his horizons and left south Tampa after 40 plus years living down there. Overall with crime and chaos and not a ton of really friendly drivers or people in general, it's become run over by some pretty pretentious folks with magical thinking caps. Of you want to live the florida lifestyle on a very small elite corner of an already small slice you have to have boocoo bucks because the top notch loving where you send your sons and daughters to like Berkley and Jesuit aren't even in the heart of south Tampa and come at a premium just like waterfront living on a safe and secure neighborhood. It's turned into quite a racket to have the best of what south Tsmpa florida living is plus the establishment of old money vs new money types of families is a clash only visible on a reality show level of cats gone wild. A lot of close tied to the area old school families are giving Tampa all they have to maybe not see a great ROI long term. Especially if they can't watch the environmental impacts and criminal issues that are really on an up swing by comparison across the other nice florida towns. So many East Coast towns or north west south west as well. Florida, maybe the next, California, on the next 30 years, and 1 more generation away from disasters. Im a pragmatist and realist. People don't like my opinion all the time and I am fine with it.
