I think the reason brothership is getting smaller trailers than echos of wisdom is that most fans of the m&l games know pretty much what to expect. This is their first time making a game like echos of wisdom
As a fan of the mario n luigi series myself, i was thinking that as well. We never know what to expect from a new zelda game. Yet we all know as Nintendo fans what to expect from a Mario and luigi game. kindof goes hand n hand.

I've thought about this since the DS era, even tried to setup Netplay with Superstar Saga and do it but my friends are all too far away and GBA netplay is _still_ do this day not there, apparently link cable emulation requires a very very fast throughput (aka it's only doable on LAN)

I like this direction for the serirs but the idea if a wario and waluigi game that kinda spoofs the idea of the series set in the warioware world would have been GENIUS
I like the 30 second snapshots, kind of makes it feel like different snaps from their travels around the area. the bros attack at the end where it switched between different scenes of luigi kicking that shell was super cool
What I love about this game is how it seems to hybridize the special systems. YOu got the dedicated items that consume SP for flashy item attacks of the modern Mario & Luigi games, and then the basic attacks seem to have inherited the Bros./Advance! system from Super Star Saga
They are called Bros Attack Arlo. What does concern me is I've seen people call Bro Items, like the Koopa Shells and that Lightning item, a Bros Atk. Just because they don't see the Bros Item block in the fights scenes we've been shown. Even though those could easily be chosen from the Item block menu.
There's a JP news post about Brothership from the 3rd of this month. It confirms that the Jumping and Hammer "Bros. Attacks" are actually just regular attacks, but if the Bros. are together then they become "Combination Attacks". The Koopa Shells and Thunder Dynamo are confirmed in that post to be Bros. Attacks, and will consume BP.
It is interesting that this is the first game since Superstar Saga to star only the Bros. I guess that’s the gimmick, that it’s just gonna be the most brotherly adventure
To me it seems like the wacky new combat gimmick is that even your regular attacks can be bros attacks, like we've seen versions of the classic jump and hammer moves that could pass as superstar saga bros attacks
My guess is they're saving the longer trailers for after Echoes of Wisdom comes out (and closer to Brothership's release), but putting out shorter snippets in the meantime to keep people talking about the game. That way neither game steps on the other's toes.
I've been playing through the whole series in preparation for this. So stoked. I highly recommend everyone at least play Superstar Saga on NSO as it's the most accessible. So very charming.
...The bros working together during big attacks does remind me of the very first game more. Like, they've always did this in the newer games, but for some reason this new game is reminding me more of the first game more than the others. xD
The downside of Nintendo's de-emphasis on graphical advancement (which I'm all for in theory) is that we're all supposed to be ecstatic to pay $60 for games that 100% look like up-rezzed 3DS games with no 3D. That's why the handheld space is perfect for Nintendo and the console space is just starting to look really awkward with everything else that's out there.
