People mock Skyrim for being on everything, but this is a good thing. It means that anybody who owns a gaming system can pick it up and have a good time. It may not be the best (definitely in the top 10, possibly 5) game ever made, but it may be the second most accessible (the most would be Tetris, which has been ported to pretty much everything).
This video was absolutely worth the effort put into it. How have I never watched any of your content before? Just died from laughter, literally 13:20 killed me to the core. I’ve never laughed so hard before. Great sense of humor, you deserve a sub more than anyone I know!

SuperGaming Dude, What are you talking about? Bethesda is just thinking about the well being of modders. Think about how rude it would be to fix some bugs that have roots in the Oblivion era and have been fixed by mods and now Bethesda would stop counting money for 5 minutes and fix them. They even went and started their own mod store where you can buy the fix for that bug that has been haunting the game engine since the wizard tried extreme potion of agility and fell from the sky. #ModderLifesMatter No, for real. What did they even do with the Skyrim Special Edition to turn it into Skyrim VR? Nothing, even the first "crack" for Skyrim VR was to copy some files from Skyrim VR and paste them to the Skyrim SE. And I should pay 60€ for that? I already bought Skyrim back in day 1 and got Skyrim SE for free because I had bought all of the DLCs for the original Skyrim and they want me to pay them 60€ for a job that litterally took them 20 minutes if they are competent at all. (okay, maybe more than 20 minutes, a lot more, but still they almost just injected SteamVR to the Skyrim and called it a day) [Disclosure] I really rise my hat for the modders, just because they still find somewhere the passion to fix Bethesdas bugs over and over again and even after that create a lot of great mods that make the Skyrim a lot better. Especially huge thank you for Arthmoor for his amazing work and patience to uphold the Unoffical Patch and Open Cities and Cutting Room Floor and all of the (IMHO) most needed mods there is.
Horseshoes, and Handgrenades. It’s a VR gun simulator that is so in depth, down to the smallest details. Every thing is really accurate. I highly recommend.
The first two lines of this comment have been cut off, because only god knows why. It originally said, “Please make a video on Hotdogs, Horseshoes, and Hand-grenades.
72marshflower15 I think is more about the guns then the gameplay. While the gameplay is very important to Anton (the dev), the guns and detail are really what matter.
Funny, because the gameplay parts kind of suck. He had the right idea with Take and Hold, but then he put it on the most boring map in existence. There should be some simple tower defense game mode like Longbow in The Lab, with progression and unlocks. Fuck, he should just copy paste In Death's gameplay.
10:50 "To swim in the fountain of life, the water must first go up to your knees." Honestly, this could have been my senior quote, but I (a dumbass), settled on "At age six, I was born without a face."
@@giltelvannithemage.778 because your arguments sound very unconvincing and generally pretty stupid. Why not listen to the guy who started the comment and enjoy both games instead of trying to prove that skyrim is better than witcher 3. I wasn't the biggest fan of skyrim but I am willing to give it another chance. Also not trying to be rude or anything but your english isn't the best.
Basically what I've gathered is that the Witcher 3's setting would be perfect for a Far Cry game, and Skyrim's setting is perfect for the 29th release of Skyrim
I wouldnt want to put anything Ubisoft made in close proximity to something good, like witcher. If skyrim is rather shallow then ubisoft open world games are just flat ground.
In all honesty, I had no idea it looked that good until this video- I might give it a shot. Nearly finished with Hollow Knight, another beautiful and well crafted game
The graphics are incredible. . The world... it's fucking unbelievable. The characters are memorable, deep. There are 36 different endings depending on your decisions. The voice acting is impeccable. The combat isn't super incredible but it's still fun and weighty. But the story... Goddamn, the story is something else. I highly recommend reading the Witcher books as well, as they are also extremely well-written fantasy books that really help solidify the world that you play in and gives you backstory into all of the characters. Playing the Witcher 2 is also fun and the Witcher 2 actually has some decent graphics, so ya. Don't play the Witcher 1 unless your hardcore, that game is punishing.
I heard somewhere that the reason Skyrim has always looked so appealing is the fact that basically everywhere you look there's a view that's worthy of being a painting or a photo
I watched the comparisons and I did make up my own mind, and I agree with you. Witcher 3 looks stunningly photorealistic - almost like I've seen those scenes before in photos. Here on earth. By comparison, Skyrim looks like a fantasy, like a story book - it takes your mind elsewhere, out of this world.
Ochinpo Totally, but on a sliding scale, when you compare directly to Skyrim, Witcher is clearly at the more "photorealistic" end and Skyrim is more at the "fantasy" end.
Exactly, from a gameplay and story perspective TES and Witcher games are like chalk and cheese, sure they're both "Fantasy" but it's like comparing LOTR to ASOIAF, they're both good, but in their own individual ways.
Very different, if i want to be someone else and play their storyline, i'll play the witcher 3 or other games. When I want to feel like i'm the character or it is my character living the story Elder Scrolls has it locked down. Also the graphics comparison is a bit strange considering how long apart these released from each other. Also... if we are considering mods, then Skyrim could win in that category too. I'm speaking ignorantly though as I don't really know what The Witcher 3s modding potentials can be.
You say that. But while they take different paths as RPGs, thematically they are very similar. Same style of magic and monsters, same look to the world, same weapon era. So similar are they in theme that content based on Witcher assets fit straight into Skyrim's world and feels immersive. From Armour and Weapons, to even Music.
I love doing that, but when I actually want immersion, I use mods to make the roads have actual useful signs, make the quests have better descriptions, then turn off all the quest markers. So I have to actually read signs if I want to go anywhere. It's inconvenient, but oddly satisfying.
imagine me playing this for the first time, the last console I've ever had was a PS2 and I made a jump to PC in 2017, so... safe to say, a game like this for me... it's truly breathtaking
Re-re-re-re-release. You forgot the cheese cake version. Which of course is the predecessor of the Raspberry Pi version that plays on a modded GBA and most minivans.
Continuity! You mentioned Skyrim: Cheesecake Edition in the bit at the beginning and then did the "skyrim runs on anything" bit with a cheesecake. Good job, brilliant work mate
I always thought Tolfdir was one of those people who is really smart, but when they have to take charge (or take a test or something) their mind just goes blank
If you're willing to slog through some annoying modding, you can actually make Morrowind look pretty damn good and update some of the clunky bits of it. It's not a modern remake by any means, but definitely worth a look if you're jonesing for another play through. Random screenshot I had sitting around. Like I said, still not modern, but kind of pulls it a bit past 2003 level. Enough to make it a ton of fun and nostalgic without just being an eyesore. steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/853852020164578328/BBC9C45659ECC150A9AE492B7A7168072BBE0A0E/ Here is a link to a guide that goes over a lot of the mods I used, as well as the OpenMW engine, which is a complete rewrite of the core Morrowind code with a lot of improvements and fixes. www.reddit.com/r/tes3mods/comments/7ipr6y/an_openmwfriendly_guide_to_installing_step/
For the amount of time difference between The Witcher 3 and Skyrim it's not surprising that The Witcher has better graphics. Honestly, I love them both. I've modded Skyrim until I crashed it (multiple times) and I own The Witcher 3 on both PC and PS4 (almost platinumed, whoooo!) so I feel secure in saying "I love both games." That being said, to me the fact that the Witcher 3 is so much closer to real life makes it so my ability to suspend disbelief and immerse myself in that world, that story, and just *be* Geralt if Rivia killing monsters for gold or when I come across them, is something I don't do in Skyrim. Yes, I switch off in Skyrim, prowling through dungeons with my bow out and Khajiit eyes "always on" (such a good mod feature because *duh*) and occasionally nearly blinding myself when I run into a torch, but it's a different sort of "switch off." In Skyrim, I'm roleplaying, I'm my elite Claw of the Mane sent to border and ended up captured accidentally, and falls into the Dark Brotherhood and eventually decides that no one should rule. (Yes, I'm still bitter about the DB quest ending.) Or I'm my valiant Mercenary who guards a Caravan until he gets picked up and eventually joins the Companions looking for a guild with honor. Or I play my Argonian Vampire Lord who originally got into the whole "Vampire Lord" mess because he's a Nightingale with a *massive* broad sword. I play Skyrim for the same reason I play Dragon Age: I want to forge my own story, which you can do even more in Skyrim than in DA. In the Witcher 3, I'm still putting myself in the role of Geralt. Someone I relate to, yes, and a story I care about-enough to check every time something with Ciri came up so I got the ending I wanted-but it's not *my* story. It's CDPR and the original creator's story and world. In Skyrim, (especially with mods like "Live Another Life") it's your story and your characters and you can imprint upon them and write up backgrounds or pen diaries they keep. I do think the Witcher is better looking, and I've spent more time in Skyrim than I have in the Witcher 3, but what makes Skyrim so immersive and feel like a fantasy novel or game from our childhood, is that it's allowed to be ours. So that first bit of snow you see when you step out of the cave after Helgen is *your* bit of snow. It's not "Bob, the Valiant's" bit of snow and you happen to be playing Bob. It's yours. And that makes it so it's easier to overlook the flaws, the "sameness" to the textures, we just absorb it, and we love it because it's put us there every time we play. Having it in VR is just sinking us deeper into it. So that's my 10¢ on why I like both the Witcher 3 and Skyrim and why I feel it's a bit like comparing classic cars to… I dunno… hand crafted hardwood furniture. Both are beautiful in their own right for their own reason. Late comment is late. I know.
Silver Raven to write a pseudo in-depth analysis of the difference between Skyrim and the Witcher 3? Eh, not really, you can blame it on being an English Major and that analyzing stories is part and parcel. That I've poured so much time into both games? I mean, Skyrim (I haven't played the VR because: no VR) just turned seven and The Witcher 3 turned, well, three this year. If your one or two hours of relaxation are gaming, and those are your games of choice to keep coming back to… they can keep you busy a damned long time, for years, and with mods on Pc, Skyrim will probably be a thing forever. Just don't tell Bethesda. 😜
Dude. I've never seen this channel before. But starting like 30 seconds in and every moment up to 4 minutes in, I though "Holy crap, this guy is awesome!" Seriously, this is ridiculous. Such presentation and entertainment. Truly fun to watch. I feel like the way I'm writing this it should be trolly sarcasm. But it's completely honest. I'm so fking entertained. I'm hooked.
Bethesda gave him a copy for free and he talked shit about Skyrim? That's part of the personality of this channel. I am sure Bethesda knows about this too. Very good presentation. Although this video makes me fall in love with Witcher 3's graphics. I bought this game on sale but somehow could not manage to fall in love with it and stopped 2 hours into the game.
Same, I never seen or heard of this guy, then watching this video I'm laughing every 30 seconds then halfway through the video I start crying because I laughed to hard and to much. This guy is amazing, if he can make me cry because of laughing, then this guy is is awesome to me.
mixed bag for me. Some is entertaining, but kind of annoying in other parts. I pump up the volume to hear what he's saying and get blasted in the ear by Celine Dion. Sort our your sound levels dude
I nearly pissed myself laughing at this Edit: you know you've played way too much Skyrim when you can recognize every single place within 3 seconds from the scenic section of the video
This might explain why I can count my friends on one hand, but there's a few hunters in the volcanic tundra north-west of Mistwatch whom you may want to pay a visit after installing that, maybe hang around, make friends, which is more than I seem to be able to do.
Yeah I downvote every single "no one: " etc comment i see on youtube, often without even reading the rest. It wasn't even funny in the first place and it's been milked to death. (Also same with comments which have loads of blank linkes forcing me to click the "show more" button. I don't have time for that!)
Skyrim VR is probably the first TRUE VR game, in my eyes it’s the first VR game you put on and genuinely enter another world, like what we’ve always dreamed about. I never got a chance to really play Skyrim outside a few hours of gameplay, so what better way of experiencing it by getting it literally beamed into my eyes.
Funny thing this, it's not the first true VR game. It came out on PC and consoles first. It's just a port of a game we all (except you and few other people) played 7 years ago and 2 years ago when it was rereleased. It's another, this time bigger, but still another Skyrim Give Me Your Money Edition. If you haven't played Skyrim before then yes, it's a great way to play it, or if you are a little bit more fascinated with TES, but for most of the fans (not hardcore fans, I mean casuals like me and 75% of people who bought Skyrim) it's just a "cool toy" and "fun gimmick" until you realize you've "been there, done that" years ago and then you go play other games you didn't play earlier. The first true VR game would be a full scaled AAA game fully and exclusively (at least on release) made for VR that isn't a port or isn't another version of a PC/ console game. For now VR is just a gimmick for richer people because casuals don't have time and money to pour into it and there aren't many games worth all the effort. That's what Gabe Newell said: "Some people have got attention by going out and saying there'll be millions of [VR headsets sold]. We're like, 'Wow, I don't think so.' I can't point to a single piece of content that would cause millions of people to justify changing their home computing"
yeah but heres the thing. most if not all other games for vr are little more than tech demos, not full length games don't get me wrong theyre amazing look at h3 for one but nobody has the time or money for a concept that at least for now is ambiguous on its success like vr most people are on the fence atm and if your like me and have to deal with five siblings in a smallish house you cant have one no matter what this is real proof of concept, five mins with this and I'm sold
Skyrim is really good on VR even though it's also a bit shit! People shouldn't expect so much from a game created in 2011 a time before VR was even conceived in it's present form. We certainly need a triple A game on VR, in fact we need a few. At least one for each genera. Many people can't see beyond their own nose when it comes to technology and media, and it seems that game/movie/entertainment companies are no better when it comes to VR. By now we should be getting some really good content for games, but also live sport, movies, proper documentaries. Everything served up is little snippets that could be. The market is there and waiting, but big corporations don't want to take the risk so it is left for small innovators to fill the gap. I'm impressed with Bethesda, because they have thought of a way to produce VR content at no risk. What they have produced is miles better than anything else so far even though they are old games. I bet Bethesda have sold more VR headsets than any other creator at this point and I favor the have it both ways model over Exclusives. I hope that in the future Bethesda will include VR content with all their games. If every company did that VR would have a great future. 'there aren't many games worth all the effort.' Sadly that is so true, but you can't point the finger at Bethesda.
I've always told people that Skyrim is not a traditionally good looking game. Its visual charm is all in the art direction. It presents a solid world, and it's consistent (unlike Fallout 4, in my opinion). It's nice to see someone else agrees with that. I know so many people who tell me that the game looks like shit because some other game looks more realistic, ignoring the fact that realism is *BORING*. Go back to Morrowind. It's not a good looking game because it has good graphics. The graphics in Morrowind suck... even by 2002 standards. No, Morrowind is a good looking game because of the visual aspect of the world it's trying to present. Oblivion was the same way. Fallout 3 was the same way. It's all part of the way these worlds draw you in and keep you engaged, and it has nothing to do with the actual quality of the graphics themselves, but the quality of the art direction.
Kevin Walter True but he had to mod in the detail work, lighting engine, sound scape, and texture packs to actually have that art design shine through, for a 60 dollar game with multiple releases. I agree that Morrowind had an amazing design but that comes down to the creativity of the Elder Scrolls Art designers, and is not a merit Skyrim can stand on, especially as he said ita essentially the same game rereleased a dozen times that is now bogging down their production cycle for the next game in the series.
+Boredpersons55 You would probably love a walking simulator if every stride's length was dictated by a diceroll and feet alternate in a pseudo-turnbased fashion.
@@SpudNug69 Skyrim on PSVR is awesome, especially if you have a PS4 Pro. If you have Move controllers I recommend using those too, they are the best way to play once you get used to them.
@@skybuilding5182 it's definitely still worth getting for the OG PS4, gameplay doesn't change, but there is a noticeable improvement in the graphics with the Pro for certain games, and Skyrim in particular. Once I knew I was on the VR train with no turning back, then I traded in for a Pro. But Skyrim is great either way.
3:10 In the Elder Scrolls universe there is a giant planet permanently in the sky, which would let off over 3x the amount of light of the full moon. That's pretty darn bright. So no, in actuality Bethesda is perfectly in the right making the nights bright in Skyrim.
86Themadhatter you won't regret it. Trust me, it quickly became my all time favorite game. Buy the complete edition because the dlcs were absolutely amazing and interesting. It does have multiple endings and so do the dlcs so be wary of your decisions through out the game.
I got really sad and felt horrible at one quest on the witcher 3, on skyrim I just go and murder, kill, and sometimes fuck whoever I want, with the right mods of course.
Zone Tan exactly. In witcher 3 you'll actually feel something towards the game. Maybe it'll be sadness or joy and in skyrim well it's just a lot of murdering and not really caring about anyone.
it's good enough to be one of the best tunes in any game ever. it's just oozes epic. fairly sure there won't be a better theme for elder scrolls ever, even if they keep making elder scrolls games for the next 500 years.

Good to see that the bugs are still out and about. They will never perfect this game no matter how many times they rerelease it
SuperGaming Dude As if they were trying...
people would still bitch even if there were no bugs, but hey....they don't call them Bugthesda for nothing....
SuperGaming Dude im pretty sure they are not even trying
Rereleasing doesnt mean fixing the game.
#ModderLifesMatter
No, for real. (okay, maybe more than 20 minutes, a lot more, but still they almost just injected SteamVR to the Skyrim and called it a day)
[Disclosure] I really rise my hat for the modders, just because they still find somewhere the passion to fix Bethesdas bugs over and over again and even after that create a lot of great mods that make the Skyrim a lot better. Especially huge thank you for Arthmoor for his amazing work and patience to uphold the Unoffical Patch and Open Cities and Cutting Room Floor and all of the (IMHO) most needed mods there is.

I think is more about the guns then the gameplay. While the gameplay is very important to Anton (the dev), the guns and detail are really what matter.
Funny, because the gameplay parts kind of suck. He had the right idea with Take and Hold, but then he put it on the most boring map in existence. I heard somewhere that the reason Skyrim has always looked so appealing is the fact that basically everywhere you look there's a view that's worthy of being a painting or a photo
Every frame, A painting.
Clint Hobson i prefere dogs over cats really
And you're allowed to, no one said one was worse than the other.
Ochinpo yes not very real.. Unless perhaps you live in and or near Poland which is where it basically is
I know right witch is why I want to get a PSVR
Skyrim and The Witcher 3 are too different for me to really compare them. I play the Witcher 3 for the story/combat, and Skyrim for the sandbox RP
Exactly, from a gameplay and story perspective TES and Witcher games are like chalk and cheese, sure they're both "Fantasy" but it's like comparing LOTR to ASOIAF, they're both good, but in their own individual ways.
I might be in minority but I like to imerse my self in the story of skyrim and in the civil war quest.
But I like the combat, it is as simple as that

I love doing that, but when I actually want immersion, I use mods to make the roads have actual useful signs, make the quests have better descriptions, then turn off all the quest markers.
So I have to actually read signs if I want to go anywhere. It's inconvenient, but oddly satisfying.

1:51 that joke killed me, “redecorating your house” *shows a pic of Hugh Laurie who plays House MD*
For the amount of time difference between The Witcher 3 and Skyrim it's not surprising that The Witcher has better graphics. Honestly, I love them both. I've modded Skyrim until I crashed it (multiple times) and I own The Witcher 3 on both PC and PS4 (almost platinumed, whoooo!) so I feel secure in saying "I love both games."
That being said, to me the fact that the Witcher 3 is so much closer to real life makes it so my ability to suspend disbelief and immerse myself in that world, that story, and just *be* Geralt if Rivia killing monsters for gold or when I come across them, is something I don't do in Skyrim. Yes, I switch off in Skyrim, prowling through dungeons with my bow out and Khajiit eyes "always on" (such a good mod feature because *duh*) and occasionally nearly blinding myself when I run into a torch, but it's a different sort of "switch off."
In Skyrim, I'm roleplaying, I'm my elite Claw of the Mane sent to border and ended up captured accidentally, and falls into the Dark Brotherhood and eventually decides that no one should rule.
I know.
Couldn't agree more. Skyrim is one of the best game for me
You have way too much time on your hands man
Silver Raven to write a pseudo in-depth analysis of the difference between Skyrim and the Witcher 3? Eh, not really, you can blame it on being an English Major and that analyzing stories is part and parcel.
That I've poured so much time into both games? I mean, Skyrim (I haven't played the VR because: no VR) just turned seven and The Witcher 3 turned, well, three this year. If your one or two hours of relaxation are gaming, and those are your games of choice to keep coming back to… they can keep you busy a damned long time, for years, and with mods on Pc, Skyrim will probably be a thing forever. Just don't tell Bethesda. 😜

That “I’m hungry” hit close to home as I have been stuck in vr and forgot to eat for a whole day before. I laugh out loud.

So no, in actuality Bethesda is perfectly in the right making the nights bright in Skyrim.
Alright alright i'm sold! I'll buy The Witcher 3
There's two A's in the title " Skyrim VR is (a a) nightmare"
got that OG Morrowind theme music! its the best of all the elder scrolls tunes, IMO
it's good enough to be one of the best tunes in any game ever. it's just oozes epic. fairly sure there won't be a better theme for elder scrolls ever, even if they keep making elder scrolls games for the next 500 years.
Witcher 3 - You follow Geralts story
Skyrim - You create your own story
Both have + and -
Game of Thrones but written by J.K. Rowling... a true nightmare
Ammoniumbicarbonat Anything written by J.K. Rowling is a nightmare
Wait why the JK Rowling hate? Is this a meme?
EDIT: Just realized this comment is a year old >.
This video made me want to play Witcher 3
It's really pretty...and gets really boring really fast.
same lol, i haven't played it in a while but i'm going to right now
get boring really fast? fuck outta here lol. Witcher story is 10000x better than skyrim.
Good story =/= Fun
vailismyname How so? I love the game
The khajit part with the cat got me hard xDD
he forgot to mention the second area with the flaming spiders
which is the most horrifying part of skyrim vr
You had me really laughing several times. And I am a boring lonely guy who never laughs. Serious. Thanks
I am doomed, then
