The thing I appreciated the most was your unique style of humour making a project fun! Mankind is often discouraged from doing things out of their comfort zone, like myself, and when I hear some different blends of funny bits I feel like trying the project. Thank you for making this video fun!
I use my woodworking as my "sanity sawdust". I have a full time job and it's projects like this in my woodshop that keeps me alive. Thanks for a great video!
I'm currently making one right now and after making my first curved cut I'm so excited by how it looks! One important detail you forgot to mention that I only realised at the last minute myself: When cutting thin strips to go into the curves, they need to be *longer* than the width of the board, because they'll get shorter as you force them into the curve! Very glad I realised this before I chopped an expensive piece of maple to the exact same width as the board to save on waste; I'll be sure to give myself another 40mm or so to work with!
I have watched hundreds of wood working vids... And this is by far my favorite so far. The work is amazing, the narration is strangely soothing, and has that high school shop class tutorial feel... So nostalgic... You are truly the Bob Ross of wood working... 👏👏👏
The best thing about these videos is that you learn so many small but very useful tricks. How to plane a board that is uneven on both sides for example. Stick it on an even board! Never thought of that, genius! I was too busy watching your tools till I got to the end, and went, wow! How'd he do that? Spectacular artistry!!!
If ever you feel you have had enough of woodworking. You could definitely have a career in narrating children’s books. Amazing soothing voice. The cutting board is out of this world too.
Awesome project!!! I got a lot of ideas. My particular favorite moments were when you took the clamps off and piled them on the bench in high speed. Good twist!!!
Thank you for showing the mistake clips at the end. As a beginning woodworker, it can be overwhelming seeing pros giving great advice and creating amazing pieces. It’s encouraging to see someone with experience making the same mistakes I do.
Triple whammy. First, this guy's as amusing as he is amazingly talented! Second, I'm a Rockler. Third, my brother's 150 y/o tool company invented the 6 in 1 tool he used early in the video (no, he's not 150, nor did he personally create the tool). Bonus whammy, I'm a commercial artist and was very impressed with his production values. I noticed over 1 million views, but less than a third of those were subscribers. Having found Mr. Fisher, I'm pleased to have become a subscriber.

Ha ha. “Annual visit to the gym...” Another great video! Both boards are just stunning! I love that subtle curve you cut in the end. Really nice touch!
I started weekend woodworking about a year ago thanks to Steve ramsey and I have to say, in the last year I've been trying to figure out how to fix warped wood and although there are thousands of videos on TH-cam explaining just how to do it, watching your first steps to fixing your first board made it so clear to me after a year of trying to figure it out. Thank you so much!

Awesome idea. The funny comments throughout the video were a great touch. I'll definitely be trying this technique soon. Thank you for taking the time to post.
What a fantastic idea! Those boards are gorgeous! One thing that made me tighten my sphincter: the routing. You really don't want to route off more than 1/8" at a time or you run the risk of getting some nasty tear-out and/or the board getting chucked across the room. :)
New subscriber here and I gotta say you are a craftsman and apparently an artist too I love the modern looking lines set into the walnuts natural shades, I'd love this look on a full countertop setup or even a large dining table.
What a great video. Learning how you made the Picasso-like curves appear woven into the board was a lot of fun to watch, and the commentary had me laughing quite a lot. It is VERY RARE that I will subscribe to a channel after only watching one video, but I'll be darned if I wasn't impressed enough to do it here. If I didn't keep filling my cellar with wine, I could probably afford both in a fortnight, but I might then run out of wine... :( Aah... first-world problems
The only way to make a wide table like that is to pass the nearly finished glued up board through an open-sided thickness sander to get the surfaces even. I make smaller (8x12) "cheese" boards this way. Now I need to try this weaving technique.
Completely awesome! I will be attempting one of these for a friend as a wedding gift. Wish me luck and thank you so much for taking the time to share this technique

Love how you draw a pencil line and then don’t use it when sawing. Great vid
You have to remember that he was drunk while he drew that straight line so it's more like a guideline instead of strict rule anyway.
