It does not have to be difficult. What you do want is more RAM, since for the rest any M generation silicon will deal just fine. The M2 Pro with at least 16GB or 18GB MP 3 is a perfect mid spot, although even 15 inch MacBook Air with M2 chip, more storage and more RAM would be awesome deal. Yet, maybe if you can wait for the M3 Air if it comes this spring to have a complete offer at your disposal.
Do you have any issues with the 512gb ssd? I just ordered this model. I plan to use it for schoolwork and basic 1080 Go Pro vlogs of my fishing adventures. Kinda nervous about the storage tho
None so far. Since I am working with 4K now and my files are huge, I copy raw files to my external SSD on which I work first. But keep in mind that I had 256GB storage on my M1 MacBook Air for 2 years and I didn’t have issues
I own a similar macbook just in the 16inch version its a Macbook pro M3 pro 18gb 512gb space black, im a IB school student and this machine is pretty overkill for my use but still sometimes i see that the laptop giving me the unified memory warnings aswell.
Yeah, unavoidable it seems. Its never enough :). No big deal thou, its still a powerhouse. But you know what's funny, I don't recall seeing this kind of warning when I was using Intel based MacBook Pro from early 2020 with 8GB of memory

How much faster is Final Cut Pro exporting speed between M1 Air vs M3 Pro? like 25% or 50%?
When I was checking it was around 35% faster
